    I like you even more now, lol. I’m a cyclist as well. I mainly do BMX and Mountain Biking but I’ve been contemplating getting a gravel rig. My buddy does long rides all the time and he’s always telling me how peaceful and how great it is but when I visualize gravel riding, to me it just seems boring… I like to ride for fun and the adrenaline rush when flying through the air and white knuckle barreling down a steep and nasty section of trail and it’s for that reason that I do not run clips on any of my bikes. I’m more of a risk taker and I like the ability to put my foot down at a milliseconds notice if I feel that I am going to fall. I just experienced that situation this morning at about 1:30am on some night laps through Stony Creek MTB trails. I went into a sharp turn on the outside and my front tire caught a newly formed rutt and my front tire washed out but luckily I was able to put my foot down and not crash. I even said to myself afterwards “and That is why I do not run clips” because I just know that if I would have been clipped in, I would have went down hard…. But anyways, on a gravel bike or a road bike I can definitely see the advantage to having clips. Same with bmx racing but I’m more of a trail and dirt jump guy.
    Anyway, I did find this video helpful because I never really took the time to understand how they worked and now I know how now.

    Thank you. One of my SPD clip shoes has been getting stuck, I don’t know if it’s “broken,” the shoe itself is “broken,” or perhaps the pedal. I just can’t twist and unclip like I used to. Any ideas? I have to take the shoe off and wrench on it to unclip (though I’ll give your instructions a go next time.)

      You might try using an allen wrench to see if you can tighten the bolts on the cleat. If the cleat isn't loose, there are tension adjustments on the pedals. There should be a + or - on the pedal to show which way to turn the adjuster for more or less tension.

    • @sandyj3231
      @sandyj3231 Год назад

      @@Know-How-Now Someone suggested trying new cleats, which I may do before attempting to adjust the tension. I’ve heard that can be tricky.

    • @Know-How-Now

      I've been using SPD cleats for about 24 years and around 43,000 miles of road riding. I only ever recall replacing cleats 1 time on a pair of shoes. I'm on my 3rd pair of bike shoes. When I get new shoes, I use new cleats. That's about 4 sets of cleats this life time. 3 sets were not worn out... though the shoes were. If the cleats are wearing out they tend to get sloppy and come out of the pedal easily. Replacing/positioning the cleats is trickier than turning the little adjusting screw in 1/4 turn increments and testing the release after each 1/4 turn.

    i have exactly this problem. unfortunately I have a Pedale Cube RFR Flat & Klick SL which is flat on one side and on the other side there is the cleat stuck and I can not reach it like you do.

      Sorry to hear you can't get anything wedged in there to release it. The video has a 99% thumbs up and I don't recall anyone else commenting that it doesn't work on their pedals. You might try to contact the manufacturer to see if they have a trick for that pedal.

    If you have an adjustment screw below the rear pivot, just loosen that.

    • @jpshomes5432
      @jpshomes5432 Год назад

      That didn't work for me.
      Do I need to apply wd40 to loosen it?
