Aye, Kindle really takes a fundamental aspect of the game (cities being a strong point of defence) and flips it on it's head entirely (cities are strong point of her *Offense*, either from taking damage or attacking from her.)
12:11 I have a spreadsheet I use to calculate damage, based on the formulas on the wiki. There is exactly a 62% chance of a 2HKO with tank+infantry vs artillery on plains ( with 2 com towers ). After the tank hit sets the visual health to 2, the infantry has exactly a 84% chance of killing.
High Society is super underrated. Good Players don't stay on Properties against Kindle often, and High Society says to you "Hey, want to play with Grimm power without the defense nerf?"
Def needed to thank you and these commentaries for getting me back to Advance Wars, and finally starting awbw. I don't foresee getting to the level of these titans of play, but.
It is just a masterful example of a late game won by a strong economic advantage and movement. Nonova secured a very strong early game advantage, then had the patience to wait and use his movement to set up the ultimate push on Deadffs weak side while denying an direct engagement with the majority of the latter's army. Drake's Super Power is far stronger, It might seem early, but I felt Deadffs was never going to achieve a meaningful victory on Nonova's weakside, given that his defences there were both intact and pretty damn strong I don't think a decisive victory up north is possible before the other army and the economic loss down south makes options for defence remarkably few. The super power certainly accelerated the end of the game, showing that even a less powerful super can be really damn useful if it achieves the desired effect (compensating for global damage for one turn, and getting a bit more power where it matter's to punch cleanly through). In short it was just a solid masterful game. I only wished I had the nerve of these grandmasters.
I just watched Deejus' review of a game on that map, and you had commented you think black boats are an opener you wish pros would consider! It's a fun coincidence that you decided to upload that video just now
I got two ideas #1: Inspired by deadfs quote, it might actually be fun in like a rom hack sort of thing, to add a new unit "missle transporter". It would have, like 4 move on wheels, no weapons, but curiously 1 ammo. It would also only be able to be resupplied at a base, no cities, no apcs, etc. It'd be expensive af too, like, maybe about 20k (not sure what price would be good, I'm not a balancing expert). With is 1 ammo, it would be able to resupply a single missile silo so that the silo can be used by infantry again. #2: Inspired by the way you keep saying "it's not like [CO] *can't* build [weak unit], they're just not as strong as they would be if they were built by another CO" that could also be an interesting thing. Like make a rom hack where CO's are literally unable to build any unit that they're weak with. Of course this would mean that every CO would need at least average Infantry otherwise the game would be literally impossible for someone like Jess, but it could become interesting. Like Grit for example would be limited to only building infantry, mechs, and indirects. Might result in some interesting new tactics being utilized. Of course it'd also completely mess up balance cause CO's like Kanbei would be even much much stronger than they already are, due to their ability to use literally any units. I guess you'd have to give them some sort of limit, like, maybe lower their unit cap or something, so that they can still build any unit but they can have less overall units. Also definitely would require a strong boost to naval units to make drake viable for at least the missions where the player is forced to play as drake.
Oh, this map is quite fun. But its mainly air and land battles and occasional use of transport naval units. I used rockets to get rid of the missiles and I also used bboats. I haven't heard of the use of piperunners to lock down that base. It sounds fun to use.
Ahahah! I have literally used it once, it was a massive map, I was winning and I was able to buy two Neotanks that turn to solidify my advantage. It really is a "win more" power.
Brush with Death is one of my favorite maps cuz I got lucky to play StarFlash THREE times in a row, with the last being on this map. He shared some tips and I got to enjoy a few matches on this map with that tech 😂 That being said, what a match! Can’t wait for the finals for the Masters League
I do disagree. His southern flank was really compromised and he wasn't anywhere near getting a decisive victory against Nonova's weak side. While he could've probably have held on, it was really a matter of about 5/7 turns before he had completely lost.
Although Drake's air units are weaker, cutting fuel and HP are devastating against them. So I feel it's hard to say how bad/good he really is against those. Lose some gain some.
I wish on time that they only count K/D of units instead of cities to encourage the guy ahead in properties to attack. But while I complain about a few things of AWBW (like the transport copter fog of war bug, Urban Blight, Comm towers), I won't ding too many points for it. After all, having the player with the most properties win when time runs out is faithful to the cartridge.
Uhm AKCUALLY, HQ does not count for High Society, only regular old cities count for it. That's why it's such a bad power most of the time, it's much weaker than you'd think when looking at your income. The damage calculator thankfully shows the amount of cities you have. Great game btw, I was worried this tournament had died.
Mangs commands me to close other tabs? If he's going to demand that, I want to see him right there, in person. Blangs doesn't have the authority.
I only close my tabs for Dangs.
You can never go wrong wrong with Rong Rong in the thumbnail.

It’s inane how good Kindle is. High society and Urban blight can just steamroll if you know what you’re doing

Terran Starcraft music. The mark of a true patrician.

Kindle > Drake in STD
Drake > Kindle in FOG
mostly
Kindle gave Drake STD?
Egg man the true high society residence
I wonder if Mangs understands the meaning of clickbait and actively chooses to do the exact opposite of it
I just got paired up against Deadfs in a high funds match, as someone who is in the top 70/80 and never faced a grandmaster before... send help!!
Ask for a draw. I think he will show mercy. That is unless you want to go up against him knowing you won't win.
@@projectpitchfork860 I’m not afraid of defeat… I only fear humiliation.
Take the fight to him, and learn from the beating! That said, best of luck! 🤞
I tried to send you more dudes, accidentally sent nudes instead, sry.

Maybe the true high society are the units we made along the way

At 5:05 you comment on the updates to the AWBW site; how is that competitor site coming along?
From what I understand it's slow going, but things are happening.
@@Mangs1337Cheers, thanks for the update.

Mangs playing my two favorite songs from SC2 right out of the gate? Absolute banger
When I saw the title, I thought I was going to see War Bonds put to use!
Ahahah! I have literally used it once, it was a massive map, I was winning and I was able to buy two Neotanks that turn to solidify my advantage. It really is a "win more" power.
Finally after all those months... master league is finally back with a banger!
Always good to see less used power shine
The lesson I learned today: there’s no need to stall when your units can ball.
Mangs, my university lecture recording that I'm procrastinating on is on my other tab, I can't close that.
This match is a true study case...Great plays by both players indeed!

SC2 BGM hits high with this game

The luck roll was a 2 in 3 (had 20 to 25 hp, damage range was 17-26).

I started playing this game again and I am looking for people to play with online.
Yes very good choice of music !!!
Drake bros, i uhhh forgot
High society is affected by cities owned, not properties
There's been talks about whether to change her SCOP so that it counts all properties like in AWDS.
I mean, she _is_ a dual strike co, so idk why they took that away from her in awbw
@@ElkaPME It's probably another 20% attack on top
I honestly think deadfs resigned too early. He still could've had a chance if he shifted to the top
I do disagree. His southern flank was really compromised and he wasn't anywhere near getting a decisive victory against Nonova's weak side. While he could've probably have held on, it was really a matter of about 5/7 turns before he had completely lost.
Mangs: "Drake is not good with air units"
There are 4 comtowers on this map Mangs so if Drake got 2 air units are normal lol.
Yes, but kindles will be 20% better than his.
