I didn't look into the code of AWBW/Replay Viewer, but I still think I have a decent understanding of the replay update bug. Whenever a player attacks a pipe seam, that move doesn't show in the replay at all, but the situation rectifies itself inbetween the turns. Therefore, if you move and attack the seam with a direct unit (such as your BCopters, but even the Infantry), it doesn't even show the move until the end of the turn. This is also why it looked like you built BCopters on an airport with a ready BCopter already there. That also means that the turn you break the pipe seam, you can move through - but the viewer shows you moving through (or inside) an unbroken pipe seam. It's that simple and consistent.
The reason the replay viewer shows the artillery with +1 range is that it sees that Deejus will use his power, and accounts for that. I'm not entirely sure, but there was a simalar issue on a similar site, so it might be something like that.
That was a kinda stacked match Vs Grit, but what I think should be said is how you did a good job with restraint, no Mangs Infantry, and positioning. You don’t just beat the elite by luck, even if its Live. Well done!
Mangs really went a long way, eh? I'm so glad of how much he has grow up as a player, kinda reminds me those anime rivals Mangs vs Deejus. One day we're gonna have both at their peak against each other and it'll be GLORIOUS
Just had some dumb defeats in a row, I'll climb back up to 1100 before you know it. I don't really take enough time with my STD games because I'm impatient, that's why I love live games. Maybe one of these days I'll attempt to get back to 1200. The truth is I just can't be bothered to focus on async games because they require you to spend so much time in move planner to stay competitive.
@@Mangs1337 Exactly and no one can blame you Mangs. All games should be quick and it's kind of a big handicap for us who have no patience because we just won't use the move planner. It's such a crutch it makes me angry it even exists to be honest. Hope they introduce rankings to live matches...
The GL meta is to spend an entire week to perfect your turn. lol Lot of people don't want to play like that and are waiting for the Live league to go up.
Grit is so bad in fog, as Recons- which you need to build anyway for vision, are also the perfect counter to his artillery. on top of that he's forced to build his own recons and he really needs his bases for artillery and anti air
Missiles have 4 move on wheels, the worst move type in the game. They take way too long ot set up, and once I notice one, I can just shift all my copters to the other fronts, the missiles can't keep up. They cost the same as 2 artillery, which is going to get Grit crushed. Trust me when I say this, there are almost no competitive scenarios where one builds Missiles. A few maps may allow for it, but this aint one of them. The reason Grit has to build AA is not just to have a response to the copters, but he needs them for walling and infantry support, missiles can't provide that. I know it sounds good on paper since Grit in as in-direct CO that buffs his missiles, but it just doesn't work in practice, try building a missile in a match like this and you'll just die.@@Acidicstudios
I wholly understand they aren't very cheap to deploy, take some effort to move around maps due to Wheels and not Threads, and increased attack range doesn't improve their (strong) vision, but would Missile units not be good for Grit in theory? If his regular Anti-Air tanks struggle so much in direct combat and more so against enemies with any Def increase, would taking it a little slower to build up Missiles theoretically give Grit better use of his anti-air capabilities in FOW then? Or has competitive play proven too much that even they are unviable for Grit even if they did strike harder than the average Missile types?
@@holdenroberts6973 Noted. I was a little surprised to see none, because my instinct would be to build at least one or two for vision and anti-air control that is easier to catch people off-guard with in a map like this. That and the fact few characters can hit from father or harder than Grit can if you have some other unit giving extra vision, especially when enemy choppers are tougher than normal, and always a strong harassing tool for nearly any army.
Grit is tough to play against. A few days ago, I played Von Bolt against Grit in a live High Funds Tier 1 match. Grits artillery strikes and their long range were a pain to deal with even though I won in the end. You have to worry about the range whenever their powers is up even with just normal cop. Ugh. It was hard to calculate and I took a heavy hit when I didnt even consider my enemy using normal co powers.
Why did you pick VB on T1 HF? He's not even good in his own tier, T2. Also, now that Grit isn't T4 anymore, the COs he match up with can take him fairly easy.
I liked his scop. Also, he was on the highest tier there so I decided to use him. I think we were on Tier 3 or something? I was counting on VB daily power and scop to start an attack. I won that way by baselocking a base near the hq.
Good Game! Spoilers ahead: You keep saying it's a rough matchup for grit but... I would contest any matchup with someone who produces recons is a rough matchup for Grit. Man he's such an overrated CO and it's all because the people running the site waaaay back before YOU made it competitive decided he was "too strong" Well, it's really stupid, I completely disagree. Grit is one of my favorite COs, but it's ridiculous to say he's overpowered, let alone UBER, when all you have to do to beat him is attack him OR frontshift.
The reason people think Grit is overpowered is because they remember playing their little brother on Spann Island and got zoned out by 4 bases spamming arty non-stop. Grit is very strong on the base maps that come with Aw2 because they are horribly designed. On any competitive maps, he struggles.
My reward for picking a handicap ⚰
jk good game, I now remember why I hadn't played grit in t1 in ages 🙊

Seeing Mangs playing as Von Bolt, makes me realize how hilarious/awesome Mangs would look doing a Von Bolt cosplay.

Nah, missiles are a joke, even for Grit. They cost too much, take forever to get into position. You'd much rather build AA.
@@Mangs1337 Does Grit AA one-shot von-bolt BCs from miles away?
That kind of mentality is exactly why Deejus lost there.

They are a bit expensive, but if both players are using a bit more funds say on a larger map they can definitely be viable.
