What did you use to clean the parts up that good?

The aluminum was pretty "clean" from the start, so it made it easy to clean up. Just degreasing with mineral spirits mostly.

Getting ready to go through the exact same process. Where do you get the DIS/GT1 software for testing VANOS?

I've had the software since 2010-ish on that laptop. Not sure where specifically you would get it from these days, but it's out there!
