I am an IGBO man that is married to an Ethiopian lady. My mom have six boys and one girl. She thought us how to cook all the Nigerian dishes! My mom thought us how to complement each other! Meaning that we did not have to wait for your wife to come back from work, cook and serve the husband. I have always cook for my wife and serve her
She is so blessed to have that respect
You're an awesome husband and she is a blessed wife 😊
Ok

Nne thank you so much. I've been married for 19years. I came into my marriage not knowing how to cook a thing. My husband cooked for us in the first 5years of our marriage before I took over. Until I started watching your videos few months ago, maybe 5 or 6 months ago, I would cook stare at the pot of food and feel sorry for myself. Good a thing my husband eats it without complaining but deep down in my heart I know he wishes I could cook better. Thank God for you, I started watching your videos and magics started happening in my kitchen. I don't cook a thing without watching at your version of it. Today I proudly serve my husband the foods I cook with high shoulders. It's never too late, if you're willing to learn. That is my story.
You are really blessed marrying a Man who never mocked you for your inability. He is to be treasured. This video has really helped improved cooking skills. Many thanks to Flo Chinyere
Love n worship that man
@@arachietonia3931 you have said it all. Such men don't exist anymore. Most men believes that a woman who doesn't know how to cook is worthless.

God's continuous increases in wisdom love blessingssss in your home. What a God's sent husband indeed. Could imagine how high he will be rating honoring you the more now of course he has been.....
Well,I went to African Market n bought egusi n red palm oil, then got beef, shrimps, chopped frozen spinach.. my first time n it tastes great ( little salty). So I fried plantain n cooked white rice without salt. I am from Caribbean/ Central America ❤
Flo Chinyere, bold, intelligent, beautiful, smart, down to earth, resourceful; unpretentious. My idea of the real African woman 👩
Chai o! All these accolades for me? Thank you. 💛🤗
And always smiling. The smile that comes from the heart. She is indeed amazing. I have learned a lot from her videos.
@@dorisl9991 😍😍😘 I feel positive energy whenever I think of you all. And positive energy always has me in my feels, smiling sheepishly. 😂😂😂 Thank you. 🤗
@@FloChinyere You are welcome
She's very intelligent and confident.. I Love her.. She's my Aunt 💃
My husband's family is from Nigeria. He was born in the USA so he never learn how to cook African dishes. I enjoy his sister's food. After being married for many years I decided I should try to cook some of the dishes. Thanks to the internet and you taking the time to share
your recipes with so many other people. I prefer watching the videos as opposed to just reading instructions. Videos can almost guarantee great results. Egusi soup, jollof rice and moi moi are my favorites. I cooked egusi soup tonight following your easy recipe. It turned out delicious. My husband was surprised. Plan to cook jollof rice next. Thank you so much for sharing easier version recipes that turn out just as great. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I am Ugandan and I've never cooked Nigerian cuisine...but since discovering your channel I feel motivated to try and it's because you make it so doable...plus your personality & random outburst of singing & dancing is just FAB!!
It warms my heart to read that. Please do and send me a feedback. I always enjoy reading from those who are trying these Nigerian meals for the first time. I love their description of what the meals taste like. 🤗💕
Hmm I love this video cause it's remember me of my son 🤣😃
Can you make semovita In microwave? Please demonstrate In your next video. Thx
Mukwano you will like it...
Flo ,why don't you use goat meats or beef. Stock fish is not always available and is more costly in the market.
Thank the Lord for you Flo! The first list I received of Egusi , my life ended that day- If my life depended on Nigerian Egusi all my children would have starved😆 But then! I find you ...Flo my savior of 5 ingredient Egusi, My children Love you, They will starve no more😆🙌😊💟💟
You are really funny good job
I'm from the US but my husband is Nigerian. Your videos have helped me learn how to cook some nigerian soups! Thank you, keep the videos coming!
Ilona Davis-Umukoro I love this! My time is coming I’m In the US learning to cook these dishes I fell in love with.!
As a single naija man , with your videos, i have been able to bring naija cuisines to my table with ease. Thank you for your efforts.
Oh my love for African food is unmeasurable. I feel sometimes if I don't have African food I haven't eaten.💜
I really like your personality. You make preparing the soup even more interesting. Dalu.❤
You are welcome. You guys bring out the best me. 😘😘

i am looking for a wife who knows how to cook egusi and amala. please holla at me. thanks
I know at least four methods of cooking egusi but this is the first time i'm coming across this method. I used to love egwusi growing up but now i can barely stand the smell. Thanks for this video though. You are such a delight to watch as always
am not a Nigeria woman but I like your food to much..thank you sis because now l no how to cook many Nigeria food 😊💯
Thank you Flo for this tutorial. I had little money on me and I also needed to make Egusi soup so I sought a recipe which required few ingredients and I found yours. I must say that it was the best egusi soup I have ever made(you can ask my husband😋). I discovered that some of the ingredients I used to include before now were not really necessary. They made the taste of the soup heavy. After carefully following your method, the soup came out tasting like the ones grandma used to make in the village when we were young. God bless you for this. I must say that you're really gifted and I like your originality. Keep up the good work, you're affecting lives and homes👍.
If only I could give this video a million likes o (saying this in your voice). Nne, I am cooking this egusi soup as I type. This is the second time I'm following this caking method of yours to cook egusi soup, (having followed your frying method more times). Egusi is not one of my favourite Soups 'at all at all' but I cook it very occasionally to have a variety of meals in my household.
Thank you for all your contribution on YT to Nigerian cooking. I can always count on one of your recipes, even if I tailor an ingredient or two to my preference. Not to mention you educating us on the science behind how /why some ingredients 'behave' one way or another, topped with your humour and overall engaging personality.
🗣Hi Flo, been married to my nigerian husband 40+ years, and have been trying to learn to cook nigerian food for a while, and I'm still not good. Thank God for good Nigerian family friends who regularly supply him with home cooked nigerian meals. I also now love these channels where I can watch young ladies like yourself show us americans how to cook nigerian food. I just happened upon yours today, and already love just some of the topics/things you've mentioned like, not liking oil floating on top of your soup or thruout oily looking. A total turn off. A gag🤮. And all the ingredients added for the so called Nigerian Flavor. Yet they all taste the same, just different ways of cooking it. Then today I happen upon you. Thankyou for explaining all you do and why! Thankyou for showing the process and what the food should look like, or what it may not look like if not done correctly. You are my new best friend in my head. Glad I discovered your 5 ingredients Nigerian Soup, even better!👌🏾❤👍🏾
When watching your video I am not in a hurry despite the fact that it is long compared to the average RUclips video. Your way of speaking is very relaxing.
I couldn't skip this video for anything. Your humour and chats while cooking is amazing.
😂😂😂 I know the kind of gist my RUclips family members like. 💛
You are a lively woman who enjoys cooking and who actually knows how to cook. Kudos to you and your lovely family. Stay bless
Mummy flo, I just made this kortorkortor egusi soup, chaiiii my husband is eating it with pounded yam oooo. Thanks ma'am you are the best...
Real kortorkortor. 😂 I am happy to read that! Well done! 😋
My dear your bitter leaf soup was superb after cooking it ,my husband even reworded me with some cash because it was special and so ooo delicious then previous ones i use to cook
I cooked egusi for the first time ever (with a little tweak though, I used beef and another type of stock fish but every other thing was the same) and it didn't only look good but I was licking my fingers. Thank youuuuuuuuuu!
I have to confess, I was waiting for a 5 ingredients ogbono soup.😀😀. Anyway this is enough inspiration for me. I will try that on my own.
You are just too beautifully straight and always on point. I love ur personality plus u make cooking fun
🤗🤗🥰
That’s cool, I love it !!
You are so lovely and you make it so easy for us to understand how to cook Naija food. Am now cooking better than my Naija hubby who couldn't trust me to cook when we got married. Am not naija so I've learnt how to cook from him and you.
Mama Flo am definitely gonna try this 5 ingredients recipes oooooo you blow me away , you havd a beautiful face full of God's grace
I love watching your recipes. When you said "swallow, don't chew" I was actually chewing on your behalf 🤣🤣🤣 I decided to go to a Nigerian restaurant here in cape town south Africa to try egusi soup. One of the staff actually decided to sit with me and asked if I was Nigerian. He said I wasn't eating it the right way lol. That I should mount the semo with my hand, swallow and not chew. Really found it difficult. We chew all of our traditional meals. So being told not to chew was a new thing to me lol
More grace
I think the advisor to swallow is a bit silly! Some of us enjoy chewing our food! There's a whole other level of flavour and texture you would appreciate!! Even when eating Naija swallow.
@@Noonzi I didn't understand the organization soup ingredients

Eheee? So this one has knocked the smoky party hollow rice one off the podium? 😂 Thank you. 💛
Flo Chinyere Kai Yes o! 😂😂 the stock fish knocked it out o!
Beautiful video and decreasing the ingredients in these trying times is most important. Cooking cheaper
I am Ghanaian and we have a similar dish Kontomire stew only we add Tomatoes. I will try this recipe
Did you say this is the final video of the 5 ingredients series 😭😭😭. I really enjoyed the series. I could never imagine cooking anything with 5 ingredients. I have even called my mom in Nigeria and told her to start cooking everything with less ingredients 😁😁. I’ve learned something again today. Thanks for sharing aunty flo.
I just love the fact that you are very real and natural. You're just yourself ❤❤❤
Flo, I have been ringing your doorbell and you won't answer when you are cooking such delicious food. I just want a small serving of the egusi. Wah! I like your clean kitchen. You are the kind of lady who cleans as you go. Yummy looking even for a vegetarian! For optimum health and precaution, try and use stainless steel, ceramic or glass for your hot meals. Never plastic!
A very wonderful cooking and very simple. Health food has to be plain and simple
I Love it. from Ghana 🇬🇭
The first time I tried to cook egusi, i was 14 and my mum rebuked me for ruining her soup.
Since then I never tried again for fear of failure.
Today, I tried again and it was perfect but it was because of your precise video.
Thank you for boosting my confidence for cooking egusi.
Your awesome🙄🤗🤗
Just watching you for the first time. Flo Chinyere you are so crazy and I’m so loving you and the way you deliver your recipe. 👍🏾
How did I even find your channel?! I don't know but I'm so happy I did. Flo, you are a joy to watch.
I'm glad to read that. Sometimes the RUclips gods get their recommendations right. Thank you and welcome to my channel. 💛
I like the way she is free and doing everything 🤩
I love it so much when you give time estimate. Your parboiling rice for exactly 7 minutes has changed my jollof rice game. Thanks for the egusi timing.
I'm glad to read that. 💛💛💛

It has been a long while since I cooked Egusi soup; I will be trying it today. I love you, Flo! I love the way you cook and how upbeat you are. I hope mine turns out a bit like yours. I will not use the Stock Fish if I do, both my husband and kids will leave the house for me because of the smell; not a fan of the smell myself.
We have different methods of cooking egusi soup. Anyhow you cook it, it always turns out well. There are no fixed rules to it. Just freestyle n enjoy it.
Nice one from yu .
Egusi is an igbo soup n u can not cook it anyhow as u said! That means u don’t know What You ate doing! Sorry not being rude But just saying the truth.
Chi Chi, your way of cooking is so fantastic. I love it. Your cooking has really upgraded my kitchen. What I do now is whenever I want to cook I will go through your cooking skills before cooking mine. I made your Oha soup, the one with palm fruits, Cocoyam, and many more it was so nice and sweet. Thank you very much, keep up the good work. 😍😍😍

Hey sis...first time watching your video....Luv your cooking style.👍❤️
Stock fish is one thing that I love to add to all my soups and even stew sometimes. But I cannot cook it in my house. I have to cook it on a electric stove outside. When i am almost done cooking, i then add it to my food. That fish is so hard to clear from clothes, hair, and furniture 😫. But this was lovely 😍. Thanks for the video!
Ur soup looks very delicious,am from suriname ,i once eat nigerian food at a friends house he is also from nigeria ,but i love watching nigerian recipe,God blesss u❤
I love this recipe I will definitely try this in my next egusi soup. I love the texture and everything.

Kedo Aunty, thanks for this video which has allowed me to Master Egusi Soup 🍜, this my favorite oh oo. You are very versatile.🤙🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for the tips. Here's my style - I pound the fish with some crayfish and fresh peppers before I add them in. No complaints other than some say I don't add enough salt and pepper. I give them the salt and pepper to add to taste.
My first time in your channel, I can say your doing a great job here for specially for we that still a bachelor, thank u for your good work ,I just add to your subscriber.
