The rabbithole i fell into just make my little cloak go whoosh was insane. I have very little experience in unity and these are so much fun to mess with
Careful where you put that thing
*giggles in UwU*
Thanks for making all of these tutorials, they've helped me a lot with everything since I transition to avi 3.0. keep them coming
Dude I keep finding your tutorials and they have always been super reliable thank you for making these
each video you make is a journey, and i’m here for it!
the Pitch option was already good enough, thank you so much!
The best VRChat tutorials on RUclips!
Awesome timing! Thank you so much!
It makes me wonder how Sippox ever got to learn these things in the first place, he knows so much about it.
I absolutely adore your videos, they are so organised, easy to understand and helpful.
Can you do another one with effects / particles? E.g. if you smack at the head there will be small stars for a short time, or an objects that emits particles when triggered via hand gesture, such as a water gun or a sparkler?
Would love to learn that!
finally.. been looking for this specific part jus to fix a skirt
Thank you so much!
Oh hype. Cheers!
Thanks so much for all of your videos. I also learned you can change numeric values with a slider when the mouse changes to have the small triangles on the left and right. I was wondering why the mouse changed to that and why when hovering over certain parameters.
thank you so much
Thanks!
you have the potential to be the unity guy that the donut guy is to blender, i believe in you
Thank you so much! Can you please do a tutorial on senders and receivers?
Hey, great video keep it up! Just a little question, I've seen avatars that can activate some abilities just hitting some invisible green boxes and it looks super cool, if you could manage to do a tutorial for that, that would be awesome.
GOLD
Just a fun tip. Manipulating physbones can be a great quest alternative to DPS. Ofcourse you can't do anything with anyone else but more self dps
I'm so excited to give my hair and wings collision! And if the level geometry has colliders I could almost kind of approximate cloth sim for my skirt 😚
Plus not having body parts clip through each other even more than the last update is really exciting
If you want your skirt to collide with the ground in any world, one trick that sorta works well now that we have plane colliders is to attach a collider component to your base armature object so that its always at the ground for your avatar and make your skirt collide with that. You can also do this with tails and other things to simulate ground collisions.
Do you have any plans on making a tutorial for making body switches like a button on the body or a grab toggle that stays on or off when you grab it? I would love to know how to do that and seeing how you explain things you would make it seem like a cake walk
would there be a way to make like that stick you used in the beginning but collide with everything on yourself and others? like a normal collider without whitelist stuff?
i fucking love you.
I don't know if you get this a lot but I'm having trouble adding dance animations to my avatar and as far as I know I haven't found a video that will help out with that I know there's tons of videos on it I just haven't found the right one
oh man, the Boneworks music brought back memories
Thanks this was very helpfull!
The thing is... when I switch to "capsule" in the options only came "radius", there is no "height"... werid 🙃😅
when i try to use capsule in any of my projects for a collider it doesn't give me a height option. so I haven't been able to use it. any suggestion to what i should do?
Hey do you think you could make a tutorial on how to do the fake playspace mover alot of avatars have? I can't find a tutorial anywhere on how to do that, also Thank you so much for all ur tutorials I've been learning how to make avatars recently so these have been very helpful!
Get Gogo Loco
what about the automatic ones generated by vrchat. even in debugging mode it won't let me adjust the size or rotation
do you think you could make a tutorial about grabbing objects off of your avatar?
Can you make a tutorial for grenades? I often see avatars with the ability to drop a grenade and let it roll around with smoke effects
idk why but the colliders just dont work when i put them in
Can you do a tutorial on how to make extra slots in the expression menu? (the circle expression menu to have more than just 8 things)
ruclips.net/video/UU9NFJz2qls/видео.html timestamp link to one of sippbox's videos showing how to make a sub menu
LOVE the video... but, where/how did you get the avatar that has all those bones already in place!? Not ReadyPlayerMe, nor Vroid, nor Tafi.
The height parameter is not appearing for me on capsule shape type.
Ditto. Did you ever find a solution?
Put the "Inspecter Tab" into debug mode, just found that out today.
Quick question but what type of Unity r u using,, currently I’m using the 2019 which does not have the physbones,,, So which one are you currently working,, or do i just gotta redownload a new vrc SDK??
Might have to purchase the bones from the unity store within unity
@@JoshDoes I did,
any reason my colliders wont work in play mode? Ive done everything in the video but they are not effecting my hair
So can we not put a box collider on the avatar? If I use a plane, I can set the position and orientation but not the size, and it appears square... can this be changed?
Can you go over the default hand collider's and whether you need to make your own for even more precision? Also I keep running into weird animation/pose issue putting phys bones on my head/arms.
VRChat does not allow for you to make your own global colliders for the hands. You can add more colliders but there is no guarantee they will collide with other peolle
What unity do you use? I've been trying to get physbones but it doesn't show up when i search for it
download the newest vrc sdk
what do you so if the height for the capsule doesn't come up?
How do you play directly on unity? Whenever I do that my avatar becomes frozen in a crouch state and it doesn't have any physics
Why did the hair just suddenly jump up at 1:11 and start responding to the collider size adjustments? I tried this and the hair on my avatar, which has physbones, doesn't do anything at all no matter how I set the head collider. I tried play mode. Is there some setting I'm missing to activate the colliders?
what would someone do when the collider is huge and its still to big even at the smallest its able to go?
What if I want something like a halo to have collision?
i wonder why it's not working though.... i put colliders into the legs so that the cloak wouldn't clip through. yes the physbones in the cloak also got collision activated and a radius assigned and i dragged the leg bones with the colliders in the physbone script. But when testing it in playmode, it's still clipping through, as if the colliders didn't exist, even though i did everything exactly as described in this tutorial Q.Q
help...
so I have an issue withm ine, my phys bones shake like crazy in both vrc and Unity
i'm using two capsuled in my avatars thighs to disable the tail from goung through my body but my tail just curls up. does anyone know how to fix that?
is PhysBone Colliders work on yourown avatar or it work on other player?
how do i make it where i can grab my avatars hair
Hairbones
someone has to make an entire model just made of physbones
every body part has a physbone
Done that the hour it came out.
@@ConnorEllisMusic lol nice
@@ConnorEllisMusic how does it work exactly
does it just flop around or just move like a normal avatar just with some issues with every body part while moving
Could you toss someone this way?
@@johnsmith-cl8lk probably not but their body will just move around a lot
Sadly Collison does not work, hair still goes through head
how did you get the in-game physbones display like 2:15? That looks really helpful for debugging
Not sure if you figured it out yet but if you go into your scroll wheel then go options, config and then Avatar overlay it will give you options to see the phys bones or contacts.
@@louise2651 got it, thanks!
How do you Remove all PhysBones so i can publish my Avi
the hair is jumping
off the colider??? why??
How do you get a height option for the capsule? Unity doesn't show it to me whenever I have this option selected
it's a bug with the current SDK, workaround is to set the inspector to debug view and edit the capsule height from there
@@SippsAvatarBox Gotta love hair-pulling bugs like that >.< thanks for the info!
I LOVE U MY LOVELY DOGGY GIRL
So, quick question. There's no way to make colliders on your avatar that can touch other people's hair and such, right? Just the hand colliders that are built in do that?
correct
You used to be able to do that with dynamic bones. I had a collider in my avatars snout that let me push bones around. But it seems that the system removed this ability.
@@Alpha.Monster Hopefully they'll allow custom colliders to interact again at some point, I'd love to be able to move people's dynamics with props and whatnot.
have a breast part I have physics on, and I'd like it to collide with the hair. How can I make it affected only by the hair physics, and not the breast physics? On play, the breast goes crazy because it has both a physics and a collider. I just want a group for the hair and the chest part.
I don't get the height option when I choose capsule. How do I get that to appear?
Put the "Inspecter Tab" into debug mode, just found that out today.
@@juuzousuzuya654 thanks. I found out the same thing after I determined VRC broke their SDK at some point.
:D
How u enable in game the bones colors like at the end?
I haven't played vrchat in a while and I'm very tired rn so this may not be the most accurate, but If you go into your radial menu, go to options, and then go through a little bit you can find an option to show/hide physbones
@@SlamDunkYaJunk Thank youu!
Er... Problem. I got my SDK last week and for the capsule collider there is no way to shorten it, so the colliders are very very tall.
Put the "Inspecter Tab" into debug mode, just found that out today.
@@juuzousuzuya654 Thank you. I also found this out today. I hope this will help other people but I believe it should not have to be debugged to show that option.
@@juuzousuzuya654 YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER
I got no capsule height option.
Put the "Inspecter Tab" into debug mode, just found that out today.
I love this tutorial, but I've hit a snag...(I'll edit if I figure it out) The sphere isn't appearing at all, as far as I can tell, when I drag the component the way you show in the video. Troubleshooting.
EDIT: I had gizmos toggled off somehow! Now I have a new problem: the collider isn't affecting the hair at all...gaaah!! xD
Same problem here. Glad I'm not alone. I'm still wondering why the hair in the video just magically jumps up at 1:11 and starts responding to his size adjustments.
@@famalourian2463 I figured it out, but please bear with me…I’ve been up all night and need some sleep, but I’ll explain ASAP when I wake up, if you don’t figure it out first! 🙏
@@famalourian2463 Try messing with it after hitting the play button. I believe that’s how I got it to work (make sure to work with only one object at a time so you can copy/paste as you need to as described in the video!)
Please let me know if this helps! 🙏
Okay now how do I give my avatar a working shotgun
Learn! Use the slide constraint
are these things on sdk 2.0?
No, and you shouldn't be using sdk2 anyway as it is deprecated.
@@SippsAvatarBox who says it's deprecated. Im still using it at this very day
@@Optimusprime-ve7xi says it right on the sdk download page
@@SippsAvatarBox either way it's still helpful. More than that pile of complexity called sdk 3.0
And don't get me started on the simplicity of 2.0 compared to 3.0
How can you do this with dynamic bones?
Just use Phys Bones. Dynamic Bones are going to be phased out at this point, and is easier on the performance.
You used to need to add Dynamic Bone Colliders to the hands, and allow colliding with those colliders to the Dynamic Bones. (ex: hands touch hair, and hair moves away from hand) Though you couldn't "grab" Dynamic Bones. You can allow yourself, or others, to interact with your Phys Bones without having any colliders, and it's free.
bro........
@Jay6 oh man I bought dynamic bones hope jt wasn't a waste it should be usable for a lot kf the models I might try
@@JoshDoes Yeah, I mean, I bought dynamic bones too. I made use of it for a good few years, so I don't feel like I wasted the money. It can be used on other projects possibly, though probably not for vrc.
So many furry avatars with phys i just want a leon re4 avatar with moving hair
I have colliders on my index finger bones that i only have applied to specific physbone components, but they interact with all my other components regardless of the whitelist. Is there a known fix for this that you know of?
