Ah man the nades being reflected by attacks is one of the most frustrating things about morty. It is already extremely hard to approach with him and this just makes it even harder. I have a rough time giving my opponents a reason to respect me in neutral past a certain skill level (usually players around 25+ ish) 😭 great video though
Yeah, thankfully bug got reported enough that they investigated and moved it up to the dev team so there’s still hope. Some advice regarding approaching is to condition your opponent to respect you using nade split explosions (moving them around as you like) and laser gun in neutral, once they aren’t as trigger happy it’s much easier to start playing with your nades around them.
Agreed he can put crazy hitboxes out there, make sure to upvote my bug report in description so our grenades will stop being swatted away for no reason
Since you've shared such nice info, I only feel I should attempt to do the same.. -You can throw grenade and use grnd up A as well as the air up A to cover air approach. (I tend to use grnd up A if Snakes are on cooldown) -Fun Morty Combo Grnd S combo hit 1 into plumbus into Grnd S combo hit 2 into earth.. from there you can simply finish it with full Grnd S combo, or you can freestyle it 🤙 Hope that helped at least one Morty out there 🙏 Thanks again for the upload
@@pendulumnuts888 Plumbus is a surprisingly good counter option against fast/aggressive opponents. I open up many a Wonder Women with spot dodge into a quick Plumbus. Get a little fleeb juice on em 😆🤙

Pretty cool but opponents don't just sit there and also dodge grenades and hit them as well or blow them up themselves with their own projectiles. Morty needs faster dair. His normals are all slow starting and dodged out of
There will always be counter play to most things in fighting games, but to dismiss versatile zoning and approach options solely due to that is not a good take imo. Also grenades don’t only work on opponents “just sitting there”.
@@pendulumnuts888 didnt completely dismiss it but alot of these setups are just not gonna fall into place like that. This game is extremely fast and alot of it is luck with the timing of the explosions, obviously can be timed but with positioning and movement, it's much harder. In my opinion if the grenade hits them, it should blow up.
@@hlg_theshepherd2873 I agree with most of that, the confirms and combos I show here are mostly proof of concept. The bigger point I was trying to make is to incorporate more layers to grenade zoning, which is very viable in matches in my experience. I wouldn't like the nades to blow up on contact but rather remove/decrease their hurtbox while "active" so that they are not easily swatted away by any attack after you invest two actions into that. I made more advanced guides covering many things, grenades included, check them out if you're interested they have plenty of live examples in matches.
@@pendulumnuts888 Yeah I agree about the hurtbox because throwing the nade, then swatting it is very slow and takes investment and I find myself getting punished too much even just trying to get a grenade out, especially on tiny maps where an advancing batman is just mashing buttons lol. I think Morty is great but he definitely doesnt win most 1v1 matchups IMO. His dair is way too slow i think. His up flame is really great tho.
Be realistic you really think your opponent is gunna be sitting in one spot to be hit by a grenade in high level competitive gameplay no one’s getting hit by it directly

that bug report isnt true tho morty grenade doesnt get deflected by all attacks it can still kill batarang.
That would be projectile interaction, not an attack. Go in training, set dummy to spam some normal attack and slap a grenade their way, you will see.
They did remove the gun from morty or no?
Nothing has been removed far as I’m aware, laser gun still there so are the baby shots

Advancing mashing batmans plague us all, I think hes pretty good in 1v1s but just shy of the S tier.
