Here’s a little tip that I learned. If you spike someone at a high percentage, don’t go for the up fire move. It actually stops them from flying. But if they’re at low percentages, then you can go for that combo for some damage. Just something that I learned.

You're not technically wrong but the reason that happens is because you are doing up air too soon. Next time wait a little that way the up air adds to the trajectory. Too soon and they'll cancel each other out.

I got to top 1k 1v1 with this build but I use the freeze projectile perk instead of I dodge you dodge we dodge. I think it works really well with Morty and with this build because his neutral attack projectile is his best way of extending combos, so after they get hit with the gun shot they’re debuffed with ice which has synergy with the other perk.

Hey I learned that when they are climbing the wall on the side you can shoot your pistol at the right distance and it will knock them down. I like using it as a safer option and it’s honestly alot easier than it looks

I just wanted to say nice vid and I have a tip as well. If you have the snakes back you can up tilt under a platform and it’ll cover the sides of you instead
The Trues Best Morty Perks: still a grenade, coffeezilla (ofc), ice to beat you (slows opponents with projectiles. The rock counts), and collateral dmg (very underrated). Many of Morty's moves will cause opponent to bounce off the floor like dair, fair, even the gun and some others. That gives many of his moves 10-20% more damage if you do the math.
i run the same for morty but i use the its flammable perk as my first one instead. i find it works pretty well
Honestly I’m not seeing many good morties right now even in fairly high ranked games but once people learn how to fully utilise his moveset he may as well be SSS+ Tier even if he gets nerfed (which he probably will). It’ll be Tom and Jerry all over again! 😅

really good morty combo that works for kills and low percents: side a -> (full charged) neutral a -> chasedown down spike -> up air . works so well i lab it daily

As a morty main I still suggestI’m more than just a hammer but if you choose to use the grenade that’s ok
More Than Just A Hammer is good, but I find it unsatisfying and just not fun in general.
Plus if someone finds his way out of it they can get a guaranteed special or combo on you.
Question regarding using Morty's gun to negate attack decay, does shooting Jerry count as attacks to negate it?

Hey mind doing something similar for Batman or Tom & Jerry? Usually my mains but I play to have fun so I’m ripping most characters, once I earn enough gold to unlock them that is 😅
Can anyone help me here? Is it not worth putting on a damage perk like extra horizontal damage since that’s his play style?
the damage perks in general just aren’t really worth it, they don’t affect enough to make it worth it when you have better options

Sometimes I get flung out using the whip
I think it depends on the momentum
You get flung towards enemies for long range whips.
See it as an upside so you can either try to spike them or begin a combo.
I gotta play him more but it's not the same as Arya haha

Guys just letting you know in case you are newer to the game, do not waste your coins on him he is downright terrible. His damage is really bad compared to almost every other character and you can not chain as much damage with him as you can with someone like Batman or Harley. I’ve put 8 hours into him at least and there is just no viable way to make him good even with the best perks. I suggest playing as Batman he’s one of the better characters in the game and is worth the gold.
@Aidan Jones he’s just bad I’ve played against 20 mortys at least and I’ve never lost to him, no one seems to be good at him
@Aidan Jones because the designers designed him in such a way where he hardly does any damage and has a lot of moves that do 0 damage. A really good Batman or really any other character will Beat a really good Morty 90 percent of the time, he definitely needs some changes.
@Aidan Jones I really think he is, of every character on the Roster he is by far the worst. Even The Iron Giant is better.

bro why do you just ignore your opponent sometimes i mean your walking right through them bro you always need to be doing something sometimes it could simply be a jump or a dair or a dodge but bro you and your opponent should never ever be walking by each other passive play gets hard pooped on always do something
