The only problem I have with Marvin other then he’s speed is the fact that his hit boxes don’t feel correct
The most fair assessment of how bad he really is. People can pop off but you hit the nail on the head with that one.
I was going to say that marvin has bad combo game, but that’s probably because of his speed and his hotboxes like you mentioned
I'm saying I just thought a black Adam and he won neutral so hard because I just couldn't touch him because his hotbox is so ass

They honestly should give him an ACTUAL passive ability not crouch walking.
So far, he feels specifically built for 2v2. I think he’s a fun character to have on my team. I play Tom and I feel like my teammate and I just have hella fun just playing together with the targeting buff helping an unexpected amount of times.
Nah, having an incredibly successful time with him, even over my mains. He's just not watered down to where you can immediately look at him and tell what he's capable of. Unfortunate for you

@Slush who's dissing you? I'm doing the same thing you are. Giving the impression I've personally had day 1. If you've had an unfortunate time, then that's just the reality of it. Doesn't mean you're being dissed because a commenter doesn't agree LMFAO. He's just not a character people can look at and tell what he can do, so he's not gonna feel right for a lot of people, as to be expected. Did you or did you not have an unfortunate time with him so far?

I feel like his bubble gun should at least have 3 shots of use because he needs something to use so that he can get people off of him and give him space, most of his normal attacks don't have a big hitbox or aren't strong to gain an advantage, especially his up-ground attack that needs a bigger hitbox.
Ye fr tho. Rick and Stripe have an ammo system on their neutrals so Marvin deserves it as well.
Agreed, that 1 bubble dosent really help him too often, maybe 2 or just up the cooldown. If you have to constantly charge it everytime how are u supposed to react and catch projectiles

The marvin crawl is just supposed to be a cute reference like velma's crawl and isnt really meant to be useful.
marvin feels more like a team character than a 1v1. his moves look like they are better when you have a rush in character to set up your attacks.
It's cool seeing MultiVersus adding all of these characters and I'm sure Marvin will get better with time.

He works fine as an assassin and has plenty of abilities everyone needs to learn how his setups and moves work and the flag move in the air is a decent kill move too everyone just forgets he's an expert character not like stripe
the crouch walk is just to add more detail to the character velma has it too.
Marvin for the casual side is very good but to compete against the meta it is not highly recommended.
You inspired me to use Finn and while using him I've had the greatest mmr climb I've ever had playing multiversus within a 2 day period within just starting a character so thank you for helping me find a new main I will probably use for ranked

I mean he dosent play like an assassin at ALL. Id consider Morty to be more of an assassin than Marvin. BUT SLUSH, *try play Marvin like youd play Galaga, just keep ground control and get your opponent in the air* .
You can bubble your Side Special and its range goes a good bit farther, keep that in neutral. In combination with flag + your upward gun, you can home on your shots to your opponent and you can basically stun them until they dodge or reset. Repeat the juggles. Your strongest ability to consistently kill is your side kick.
His zapper also demands so much respect in neutral, especially on the ground. His up spike and down spike, unlike most characters in the game, isn’t your kill move. Lastly, as crazy as this sounds, when using rocket, use your flag AFTER your ship fires, likr you said, the home “debuff” dosent last long, and since the rocket goes to you, apply pressure on them until you get an opportunity to place flag.
his up is good sometimes cause u can charge it to hit people far away that are up

solo hes bun, 2v2 i think he has a lot of potential. I would say high mid tier tho. He gets hit way to much for what he can do, more weight would make his survivability better! Also add a bigger hitbox on his flag going down or make his flag cool down lower.

I think Marvin might be a tricky character to balance because he's pretty insane in twos. I feel like maybe giving some of his other moves more knock back and decreasing his weight might be a decent tradeoff. Marvin already feels like a glass cannon so perhaps the solution could be doubling down on that.
Couldn't agree more, I watch your content because you actually judge characters in comparison to the roster rather than an individual entity. Imo I think he needs a lot of work to compare to the other assassins. I would start by either making his lock on timer longer, or a better way to apply it similar to Stripe. This would increase his pressure as an "assassin" class. Remove the self damage on gun, not sure why they keep punishing the lowest health characters. Increase his speed and animations, like you stated or increase his projectile range and change him into a mage. His vacuum bubble is legit though. Right now you can shoot grounded neutral (bubble), into side special (vaccum projectile), once the bubble hits, jump all the way up to the blast zone, up special (ufo summon), and side air (Spartan kick) ...its basically an Arya kill combo. Goodluck pulling it off in 1v1s, but actually getting a fair amount of kills in duos.

The whole thing about the flag is that you need to be close to the projectile or in the bubble to activate the home in

His hit boxes seem a bit off. Like his forward air square to up square sometimes needs the forward triangle in between. Otherwise I find him extremely good bound for nerfs. Try using Make It Reindog or Coffeezilla with Marvin.

@@RedorBlueDaily Dude he kills @45 with charged square, forward triangle then up square. He's not hard. Not to mention he reverses all projectiles including Steven's platforms.
I'm playing marvin for like 3 hours straight and I can say that he's really problem aren't really the hitboxes, but it's the fact that he has no kill move (idk if assasin wasn't meant to have those, if not pardon me). The move that actually would work as kill move is the rocket but sadly doesn't do much damage as I hoped, I'm used to win with using the up laser straight under the enemy, but if the rocket gets buffed in knockback or damage, He'd be the best assasin in the game tbh.
Also I loved marvin the alien as a kid

I really love Marvin as a character its such a shame how bad he is, they need to stop with these expert characters and start making characters more easy to pick up characters for the casual players. IMO a good character should be easy to play hard to master, the majority of the characters on the roster I couldn't recommend to a new player, unlike smash where anybody could pick up a character and do fairly well.
The new characters are bad for casuals but characters like shaggy, taz, and Wonder Woman still exist I like the concept of expert characters but not when they’re underpowered
@@RedorBlueDaily The new characters are bad for the majority of the game's player base, but if you like expert characters, Morty, Arya, Black Adam, TnJ, Rick and Steven, exist I like the concept of characters everyone can play but those willing to master them can play them extremely well, like Spike, Finn, and Bugs rather than them being needlessly over complicated
One thing I gotta say is, when I saw that he'd be an assassin instead of a mage, I figured he'd have his sword from Acme Arsenal. But I'm also the guy who thought Bugs and Taz would have lines in reference to Time Busters, so I guess that means we just can't get any references to previous games.
I get the feeling the devs are purposely misclassing a few characters just because they don't want to have two characters from the same franchise in the same class this early into the game's life, which I think is pretty arbitrary. The most blatant example by far is Morty being a Bruiser.
As for the crouch-walk, it's just an easter egg, like Velma's crawl.
I think Marvin is a good character in my personal opinion.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same crouching problem with Velma? She's the only other character that can move while crouching, but I've never heard this complaint related to her.

Noticed a problem with Marvin where his projectiles aren’t stopped by garnets singing move. It makes in very difficult to get back to the ground and he can KO as low as 45. Particularly with her larger hit box and slower movement
I admit Marvin’s juggle game is pretty nasty but the up lite spam is nutty
Some further notes that people might have noticed by now is that the lock on works with more than one of Marvin’s projectiles and the bubble from the gun is a next level utility for map control it’s both dynamic and difficult to avoid
marvin I think was designed for 2 v 2 and only if their ally is a projectile user. He reminds me of velma esp since he can control ally projectiles and his ally can give him more time to do some of his other attacks.
can you make a video addressing Harley she is just on almost another lvl from other characters in 1s she never gets nerfs she is the only character I really loss to every time I play against her

marvin in my opinion is a support assassin he shines in 2v2 as a control unit. same idea as pyke from league of legends. I think hes designed for people who like to support but also like assassin playstyle

7:50 Crouch walking is a useless gimmick. Velma also has this, and it ruins my momentum as well. The only real use I found from crouch walking/crawl was just against rick spamming his light projectiles. They are most likely going to keep that as a feature and just ignore completely. I noticed the crouch walk right away when I was trying out Marvin and realized if I want to play fast pace, I'm literally going to have to play like I play Velma. I said this in your live but to me Marvin just feels like Velma when it comes to movement.
I think he is an assasin not because of his speed but because his insane knockback. Most his moves feel hurtful..but he struggles to get a hit, he feels better in 2's with other projectile characters
I haven’t had a chance to play him all week but I do see he should be a mage for how slow and weak he is. He mostly works with projectiles so I have no clue why hes an assassin
I get wins with marvin but he definitely needs a buff maybe in attack and movement speed and kill potential in the his moveset and his normal moves and gun
They just need to reclassify him as a mage and just make his moves stronger.

I agree all the other characters are pretty broken and Marvin takes a lot of effort to pull off anything good. I main Marvin cause it’s challenging though and I like it
I honestly find some of the character archetypes to be kinda weird. Batman is a bruiser, but he feels more like an assassin. Superman is a tank, but he feels more like a bruiser. Morty is a bruiser, but he feels more like a mage/range character. And now we have Marvin who's an assassin, but he looks more like a mage/range character. I get that PFG wants to have variety with their characters, but some the archetypes just don't feel right to me.
Just because he can’t be abused like you abuse a broken character like stripe doesn’t mean he’s bad. Go checkout Gsmvoid and Mirrorman wrecking with him

I feel like he is the slowest character in the game sometimes. he can't create space. He lacks neutral and physical attacks predictable moves because they are so slow and he is hard to use on top of that
Why are first impressions with Marvin so harsh? I haven't had an issue with his crouch walk in any of my games, I just think its a cool Easter egg from a couple times he does it. He's also mostly a vertical character and thrives on stages like bat cave and scoobys mansion, you just gotta use hit up gun more, it took me a while to get the hang of but something he has more than most character mages and assassins his upward vertical range, it better than like rick (rick can't juggle) and fin.

I have played Marvin since he’s come out and I’ve seen these problems loud and clear. his typing as an assassin is very bad and is probably not the best for Marvin if he was considered a mage and was balanced around that can probably be one of the better characters in the game overall, his kit is very underwhelming I think Marvin should have been a mage ranged that way he could be balance to be like a mage and if it’s because he uses all those guns

I think he's amazing I won 12 free for all matches IN A ROLE without losing as him maybe u need more practice but yes buffs are needed but he's amazing u just don't know how to use him properly yet
I think that marvin is the best Assassin
the character he reminds me most of is gizmo, a very setup heavy character but a lightweight but gizmo feels better than marvin, if i were to play like marvin, i would go gizmo, and marvin's recovery doesn't even damage or help him. At least gizmo has his umbrella which can do damage. I like playing gizmo but he does kinda feel like a worst gizmo,. But I think that means marvin mains with time will be a challenge to fight. A good gizmo is hard to fight, I imagine the same for marvin.
He's definitely built for 2s, probably the first assassin who is, but his strength in 1s is quite lacking

Also it's sad that arya, marvin and harley are slow and are meant to be fast like they actually are. Their class is an assassin for a reason, assassins are fast in actual shows and movies. They should nerf finn and stripe's movement speed then if they don't care about the other assassins lol
