To upgrade from Windows 7 you need Windows 8 and not 8.1, then for Windows 10 you need to use the latest 22H2 version and not the crappy earlier versions
@@GooseAffiliate859 No you can still upgrade directly to 22H2 for free maintaining all the data and programs. You can even do a clean install of Windows 10 or 11 with a Windows 7 Product Key
@@GigaGreatGD Yes but you can't save programs and settings and it can't always work, like what's happened in this video. If it doesn't work, you need to upgrade before to Windows 8

1:09 That's the NT 3.1-4.0 "boot screen", if there are more messages than expected, it is a BSOD 1:35 The partitioning utilities on the CD/Floppy format as FAT and after Setup convert to NTFS, you could just upgrade to Windows 2000, create a GParted USB or CD, resize the partiton down to your hard drive size of 100 GB 2:19 Because it is a 100 GB drive
This is pretty cool!, I’ve done something like this before on where I upgraded Windows 1.0 to Windows 10, I haven’t done it for all the NT versions tho. I have done something similar, but instead of upgrading, I multibooted all NT versions of Windows on a VM quite recently.
@JigaTech at 17:23 when it was not booting up and sending you back to windows 7, some people had this error, one person said try reinstalling the ISO for 8.1 and ten, then he said 'disk corruption can asrise.'
Fix (maybe) in the earliest NT versions: if it dosent support that many space try to install it on an external hard-drive (or an another hard drive) then copying it to the main hard drive
Windows Installs and updates using an image based system. A program called DISM will unpack these, while trying to retain the user files. Unfortunately, this can fail easily.
if the last comment did not work another person solved their problem by getting a new ssd for their computer Before: (125GB) after: (355GB). There is another reason: "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007025D"
I believe windows nt 4.0 (don’t know about 3) supposedly has a bypass for 4gb limit like how windows 95 has cpu bypass but prob would be more unstable idk haven’t looked into it
i tried installing windows 7 on a 2013 imac and i was 100% sure it will work because win7 was there before and when i boot in it i just get a black screen
by the way R.I.P my grandma's windows 7 pc. It was in hibernation mode for about nine years and...uhh...it worked fine for the first time.second time was meh and the third time was bad. It won't display and it gets very hot. Jiga, know any tips?
@@JigaTech There's known workaround about 4GB limit: create a 4GB partition, install WinNT on it, and then use PartitionMagic to resize the partition (That limit is because at the first versions of WinNT, Setup did firstly make a FAT partition, and then converted it into NTFS, that approach was removed in Win2000)
Lmao that's the same product key I used to use for Windows 2000. Why tf do I recognize a product key... that's how I know I've installed Windows 2000 a lot of times.
I did some more research and I found out that the upgrade issues isn't started on Windows 8. If you started on NT 3.1 and upgrade all the way to XP the upgrade will succeed but the system will froze and cause a BSOD. While for NT 3.5, XP should work fine but you can't upgrade to Vista since the installer just fails without any reason (similar to MJD). Everyone thought it's the WINNT path that's causing issues but that's not the case since Vista didn't mind which folder Windows is installed. Only fix is to delete the SAM file using WinPE before upgrading to XP (you can't delete the SAM file after upgrading to XP).
