Made some such spare adaptor cables with additional adaptor cables, h0017fj340, for non-subaru 3 party cam separately 12v powered front and/or side cameras in my Forester xt. PM if you need them since I was also had problem with either no response or way too expensive ones from all available contacts that I found. Cheers.
Ooo, nice! :D I wish I had at least a front cam on my Camaro, lol, I'm to scared to even pull into parking spots as the front lip sticks out so far and is pretty low, lol.
Do you know how to remove this on the Subaru Crosstrek Limited 2021? I want a stealthy place for my EZ-Pass and I was thinking about mounting it under that.
Hmmm that would be a cool place to put it. Sorry on the question though, I can't say for sure as I hadn't messed with a Crosstrek at all. I'd think it would be a similar process but may need to check out a fb group for Crosstreks and see if you can find someone who may have messed with the mfd on them.
For a WRX? The mfd for the WRX just shows like boost and clock and some other basic things, even the 2018-2021 mfds. The 2015-2015 mfd was just lower quality screen. I think the outbacks and Crosstreks have something similar that does have additional features that the WRX screen does not have.
Yes the 2018 MFD does also display the HVAC info. You can see it beginning at 6:16 in this video -- 73°, AUTO, silhouette of a person and the vent(s) that are active, and fan speed bar graph). If your car has dual-zone HVAC, it will show both the driver's and passenger's temperature settings. Some of the MFD's screens may show more or less of that info due to limited space. Units (°F or C and miles/kilometers) are determined by the car, not the MFD itself, so it will display the appropriate units for your locale.
@@SVXdc O snaps.. you're right, lol. Wow.. it's been like 3 years since I made this video and pretty much forgot a lot of some of the specifics with this car as I sold it a little over 2 years ago :D Thanks for the catch and good eye!!
I believe this will work fine installing in a 2015 model BUT I believe you would need an extra harness to redirect the backup camera video to the headunit instead of the MFD.
My 2021 Sti multifunction display broke on me at 700 miles. I wonder if this is a common issue or if I just got a bad screen. Anyone else run into this issue?
I haven't heard of them breaking so it must be pretty rare especially that quickly! Maybe take a look and verify a wire didn't come loose or something.
If I purchased one of these displays from the U.S and plugged it into my vehicle here in Aus would it read in U.S readings instead of Aus ? Eg: MPH vs KMH
I bought my MFD used from someone but I list the part numbers in the video description as well: 2018+ MFD (just the screen): 85263VA020 2018+ MFD Lid (stitched): 66067VA020 The harness I purchased from Kevin Hulett from Facebook but I believe they can also be bought at ae64.com/InquiriesOrders.htm.
Sadly I am not sure... Have not seen the Impreza setup myself to be able to offer any advice on that. I'm sure NASIOC or some forum like that may have some details on this though!
Heya! It's a Seicane headunit. Looking at my old order it shows as, "Seicane Android 8.0 9"Car Radio For Subaru WRX forester 2014 2015 2016 GPS 4GB RAM Audio Head Unit". Hope that helps!
I have a 17' FXT with same screen as the WRX. Question though, when I put the eyesight on for adaptive cruise control it shows up on the MFD screen while it's running and then goes away when I exit cruise control. Does it do the same thing on the new MFD screen?
Sorry for late response... Not sure, I didn't have eyesight. Would need to check cabling and such to screen to see if any differences on connections between FXT and the MFD in the new WRX I'd think.
@@joralex you have the Seicane or a different brand Android head unit? How many harnesses did it come with and what year is your car? For your viewers clarification, those RCA video inputs are for optional front and side view cameras, NOT for the rear view camera! If you ever end up with a 2018 front bumper, you can add an OEM front camera to that harness!
