Just got my WRX back in February and my first mod is a catback exhaust. I’ve waited 7 years to own this car so I’m definitely gonna take my time and do it CORRECT. Thanks for the vid, now I don’t feel so stupid asking “if I do this does it need tuned” 😂 🙌🏼
“…We own it now.” THE ENERGY! Got me fired up! Been following since the FI days! Your killing it Alex, thanks for being down to earth in your own channel too. I’m deciding between a 10th gen SI, civic hatch (adding an LSD) (I like the looks more than coupe or sedan lol) and the VA WRX as a DD/ beginner track day car. So glad this series is back!
All of this is valid. No shitting on the platform just straight facts. Love this kind of content, each car is unique in its own way and they all have issues of their own.
Pretty glad to see this come back very nostalgic to me. I love this series and you should really do a new/updated video on the Mitsubishi 3000GT. Great content man keep it up.
Used to own an '18 Sti. Did the basic stuff, and started looking into increasing power. For "reliable" 400-450 hp, parts alone were around $14k. ($9k for IAG block Rated for 500hp). Not worth it. Throw some nice wheels and coilovers on it, catback and maybe a short shifter, and leave it alone. If you want a car with more power, WRX / Sti isn't the right choice.
2019 and up STI came with type RA block n internals I have a 19 with 70 k has been tuned on flex since 14 k at 487 WHP 520 TRQ SO it’s possible with the 19 n up STI no problem a lot of people making me power than me n doing just fine
Excellent video sir, I never thought I'd own a 2015 STI because they were too far out of my price range for a daily. But three months ago I decided to pick up a sketchy one with mods for 16k, and after getting a tune for the parts on the vehicle, and fixing some body issues the car runs great! Smeedia has been a great resource to maintaining an STI. My journey isn't done yet as there are still things to do but what a fun daily. Cheers!
Great vid!!! Can you please do a beginner drifting build with 350z 1. Which year 350z 2. What need to be taken out 3. What parts needed 4. Welded diff or buy one 5. Who’s RUclips channel you learn how to drift 6. Do you drift ?
My 2015 has been stage 2 pro tuned since about 45k and im at 100k with no issues other than stock turbo seals and CMC gave out. With regular maintenance these cars are as reliable as anything else.
Wanna know how I know you’re getting older? You favor the maintenance rule. Welcome to the top Alex, all down hill from here. When it is time to freshen up my rig I will buy from y’all and setup my build thread. Much love keep it up, this is why I listen/watch your shtuff (yes I combined shyt and stuff) my guy.
Awesome vid man and good timing! I just picked up a 2016 in January and its a blast! Got some wheels, the coils and exhaust are next. thanks for the help!
I 100% agree, boxer engine need a remap after modification. Jdm Subaru has to be tuned for your local gas since 100 octane is not available everywhere. Got my 1998 JDM B4 RSK tuned for 98 octane and making 330 HP.
Yup, the EA888 can take on a lot of reliable power. Fwiw, the S3 looks pretty nice if you're into the WRX and Evo look and is the same exact car (at least 8V and MK7, the MK8 and 8Y have some slight differences). I went the S3 route just because it's cheaper than the Golf R.
Yo man I’m stuck between getting a 2019 Honda accord 10th gen or 2015 Subaru wrx sti. I want to mod them but I’m not sure which to get. Can I get some help? Please!
After having owned a 21 VA and now a 22 VB. I much prefer the looks of the VB. Even the plastic has grown on me an seeing paint matched if off to me. Dropping an STI trans in mine to make it the car it SHOULD have been.
@@DarkWolfWRX What else have you done to the car? I recently got a VB as well and I'm leaving it 100% stock until warrantly is up. It's my first car and learning manual was very fun. Once warrantly was up I was thinking about getting an intake, cat-back, and a short throw shifter. I've heard a little bit about swapping the trans as the sti one is more durable and overall just better as well as upgrading the brakes if you want to take it to the track. Any other things I should be considering? It will be my only car so I'm not aiming for anything too crazy as I need something that won't be braking all the time.
absolutely, the tolerances on these cars are tiny, find a well reviewed tuner, spend the money, not worth saving $400 for a tune when you have to buy a new engine lol
I agree with the views of this video, anything past a stage 1 tune STI should be considered not a daily driver. make sure you have another car to daily before you go above 300 at the wheels. Definitely keep up on the fluids and regular maintenance and checks. Pro tunes are definitely the way to go in that department off the shelf tunes are for getting to the Tuner.
I agree with the video.. let’s point the obvious out. If you can’t do maintenance or keep up with scheduled maintenance work on your car.. probably shouldn’t own a car or even be thinking about doing engine modifications
the amount of times of cut corners for mine lmao.... but the corner cutting is catching up to me as now i have loads of problems that need addressed asap.
You should put the link in the description. Also everything he said is true don’t be like me and do all the tone necessary stuff unless your car is bulletproof because you’ll break down on the way to the tune appointment. Which then leads to over a year of trying and failing to get it ready 😢
Do axle back exhaust require tune for 23 wrx vb ? Since it’s just reliving back pressure stupid question I know but I rather ask then have a blown engine lmao
Depending, of where you live, I would say. Here in Eu, the gas price are very hight and sti burn a lot of gas...for only 300 hp. We speak about 100€ for 300 km. Sti are not reliable for sure, yes, pepole are trashing them...same as honda but honds do not blow head gasket at this rythme. Go for fk8 if you need a 4 door sedan for sure.....
Hi, 2021 wrx owner who will not modify the cars engine. Wheels, tires, suspension and a cat back and that is it. I daily my car and just use it for fun on the weekends through winding country roads
THE COMEBACK
DONT CALL IT A COMEBACK!!
-LL Cool J
Sooooo glad this series came back the way it did. Would like to see one of a 300zx in the future!
300zx IS SUCH A GOOD CAR! Subscribe for more!
Owning the song is the biggest flex of 2023
I will not modify my WRX with parts that require a tune, it the tune is not scheduled already. Amen 🙏

THIS IS THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF 2023!!! LFG BABY!! The So You Want series is what got me into modifying cars and I am HERE for this
THIS IS THE TYPE OF ENERGY WE NEED
Let’s make something magical again 🎉 SUBSCRIBE BOYS
This dude was the highlight of fitment. Thank God your back. Your channel will grow. Don't stop. Subscribed!!!

Just know this is why I’m a fan of Alex taught me everything I know about modifying

The song. The comeback, the vibes, the approach that made me enjoy your videos so much! I hope this series stays for a while !
Love the song coming back! And the layout for the vid was great! I have the WRX as well and watch smeedia. Your points are all correct!

IAG blocks overrated and overpriced

I've adopted this recipe before buying my 2015 STi and it taste good lol
Awesome way to bring the series back!
Glad you enjoyed, subscribe for more of the videos coming!

AYE THAT INTRO WAS COLD
Titan7’s are my go to wheel recommendations for 2015-2021 WRX/STI’s. They are the chef’s kiss🤌🏻
333 subs, so glad to see you back!

"You like the song,we own it now" best part of the vedio.
I LOVE that you brought back the music! 🔥 🔥 🔥 gets the people GOIN!
Honoured to be the thumbnail, entertaining as always
We appreciate you letting us use that gorgeous photo!
Keep up the amazing content
Thank you so much. The smile I had when that music started. Keep it going.
Way more well put together than videos in the past. Really good takes in this one.

Matini seems like the last person to do a video like this... But its amazing none the less!
So good. The TUNE Zone, you should trademark it.
Just got my 2016 WRX Sport Tech and I love that thing
when are the banners coming out my boi my focus would look great with a white one
didn’t really dig you!!!
TILL YOU WERE GONE!
GLAD YOUR BACK, KEEP PUSHIN HOMEZ!
For the AWD, 4 banger platform. Golf R seems to be the most tuner friendly for performance. But the WRX and Evo do look amazing.
Golf R's are underrated honestly
Yup, the EA888 can take on a lot of reliable power. Fwiw, the S3 looks pretty nice if you're into the WRX and Evo look and is the same exact car (at least 8V and MK7, the MK8 and 8Y have some slight differences). I went the S3 route just because it's cheaper than the Golf R.
Love my va wrx but golf r is the car I’ll be hunting for
Does the Golf R have the usual shitty VW reliability tho.....or is it a solid motor?
Yo man I’m stuck between getting a 2019 Honda accord 10th gen or 2015 Subaru wrx sti. I want to mod them but I’m not sure which to get. Can I get some help? Please!
Subaru
The song brought me wayyyyyy back perfect intro
Intro was a whole flex
You should have more subs. Great video production.
Excelent and welcome back🎉. I just got a FXT and this is very helpful
Now this is the type of shit im talking about Alex. Honest, REAL opinions! LFG
Your content is great 😆 Super solid delivery and editing. I'll make sure not to blow up my WRX lol
Love you
Let’s gooo! 🔥🔥
🙌🙌
And I’ll say it again the best part is the intro music !!
When alex said when you blowing it up I felt that, just recently blew my fa24 lol
Damn this just feels right! LFG Alex!!!
I MISS THIS SERIES
Like that song
Long pause
The most in your face speech ever heard
WE OWN IT NOW
I love these seres . And the energy smacks
Can you do the 22 VBs ? Looks aside the FA24 is killer.

Doing an exhaust won’t hurt the car right? Like don’t need a tune or anything?
The introooooo hell yeah!!
wait im confused now do i need to tune it if i change exhaust system? Im guessing yes
absolutely, the tolerances on these cars are tiny, find a well reviewed tuner, spend the money, not worth saving $400 for a tune when you have to buy a new engine lol
As a subie owner first thing I did was aos cylinder 4 coolent mod iag oil pan/ pick up better radiator
Yo the intro 😭🔥
Love this subi gang
Can you do a video on the older generations
Anyone know what wheels are on the first sti when the beat drops? 😅
s/o for the MULTIPLE pieces of content dedicated to the Subaru heads LOL
I agree with the views of this video, anything past a stage 1 tune STI should be considered not a daily driver. make sure you have another car to daily before you go above 300 at the wheels. We're back baby! Hell yeah! (Do Evo X... Again)
Aight bet
@@MartiniWorksOfficial Hell yeah 😎
Do the engine covers actually do anything some say the actually work others say it’s doesn’t work
Should do the VBs next.
Yesss!! Missed this!
Can you do a build on a jetta 1.8tsi
@MartiniWorks can you do a video on modding a Fiat 124 spider
Love these videos, glad to see them back! Is it possible you could do a video for the new VBs? Getting a 2023 wrx soon!
wait when did you leave fitment industries
How did I miss this ❤
That song slaps though
Wait even changing the radiator requires a tune? I know changing TMIC to a FMIC does. But a radiator you got me all confused lol
I agree with the video.. let’s point the obvious out. If you can’t do maintenance or keep up with scheduled maintenance work on your car.. probably shouldn’t own a car or even be thinking about doing engine modifications
Step 1: Learn from others' misfortune
Step 2: Send it
I’m at 350 WHP on E60 for past 3 years 47k miles later with plenty of launches. She lives for now but once she blows Im part out and switch platforms.
the amount of times of cut corners for mine lmao.... but the corner cutting is catching up to me as now i have loads of problems that need addressed asap.
How about a video on the Mazdaspeed protege? Nobody talks about them but they're so fun LOL
Im happy this is back, any chance can Dakota bring back a version of driver to driver?
You should put the link in the description. Also everything he said is true don’t be like me and do all the tone necessary stuff unless your car is bulletproof because you’ll break down on the way to the tune appointment. Which then leads to over a year of trying and failing to get it ready 😢

Great video, thank you for making it!
Is this fitment industries?
Sick intro
Thank you for mentioning me.
This was great
I love this guy
Can you do a 2000-2015 Honda civic Si
OOoooo We do love some Honda's
That intro was amazing hahahaha
YOOO I NEEDED THIS
Do axle back exhaust require tune for 23 wrx vb ? Since it’s just reliving back pressure stupid question I know but I rather ask then have a blown engine lmao
Can’t wait for you to do evo 8 and 9 !!!!!!
Do I need a tune for just mufflers? (No mid pipes or anything)
No, for catback, you don't
For those who own/owned a subaru wrx sti do yall recommend it??
Depending, of where you live, I would say. Here in Eu, the gas price are very hight and sti burn a lot of gas...for only 300 hp. We speak about 100€ for 300 km.
