have a hard time put the retainer back😢
Kickstand not as fancy but id rather have that than the magnets messing with the deck.
yeah... mine with the magnets never seemed to cause any issues but I didn't have the more affected fan in any of my steam decks so that was a plus :D But the new version is solid with any variation so win win.
Hey man, i have a question. Do you think the factory roof rails are sturdy enough. And are there any after market ones, i cant find anything
Heya! I believe the factory roof rails are rated for up to 150lbs... So, depends on what you are trying to carry up there really :D I'm not sure on aftermarket as I never used mine, lol. May need to search around for what options there may be.
Im from Texas living in the Valley area!😂
loll :D
Im from Texas living in the Valley area!
I have 240 electric going to a machine. Motor keeps tripping, not service panel breaker but at the overload at the motor. I'm checking shorts, ground etc. I have 240 going to this motor. Its the right motor. I wanted to know if these readings were good as I tested the 3 legs at the disconnect at my machine. Between each pair of wires I get 237 V. I did another test. Ground to each of these also y white wire I got 158 Black wire I get 134 Red wire is 122 Is this OK? Also, how can you tell which legs are L1, L2, and L3? Which wire is neutral?
Heya! Your measurements from each wire to ground (white: 158 V, black: 134 V, red: 122 V) seems a bit unusual for a standard residential 240 V setup. Typically, in a 240 V three-phase system, you would expect about 120 V from each phase to neutral or potentially up to 139 V in a high leg delta where one leg (often marked orange) is higher voltage to neutral. However, the readings you provided do not conform to these typical values, which could suggest an issue with the neutral connection or an imbalance. For identifying L1, L2, L3, and Neutral the standard color coding for AC power wiring in a three-phase system is typically black, red, and blue or black, red, and white for the phases, with white or gray for neutral. This can vary, so it’s important to use a multimeter or a voltage tester to confirm. You can check the voltage between pairs: L1 to L2, L2 to L3, and L1 to L3 should all give you similar readings (like your 237 V readings) if everything is connected correctly and there's no high leg. To find neutral, normally one would look for the conductor that has a consistent lower voltage relative to all phases (around 120 V in many setups). Possible Issues... The unusual voltages to ground could be due to a poor neutral connection or other wiring issues. This could also contribute to the motor tripping if it's causing an imbalance or insufficient grounding. It’s important to ensure that the motor is configured correctly for the type of electrical service you have. Check the motor's wiring diagram and settings to make sure they match the supply. Verify the neutral connection and ensure that it is properly grounded. Check the entire system's wiring to ensure that all connections are secure and correctly configured. Always ensure that all power is turned off and follow safety protocols when modifying electrical systems. Verify the wiring in the panel for the outlet as well.
Thank you! I appreciate your help. This is a factory. Old big punch presses. 1930, 40's, 50's and 60's. Built to last. I work on these. I'm their tech. Just been hurting on this machine. Brand new motor, 3 phase, wired correctly verified act like it wants to move for a second then the heated blow. These heaters you can't find rest either. General electric ones that are from the 60s or 70s. The wiring in this place is all kinds of bad. Family owned small company since 1902. Really bad electrical stuff. Wrong color wires, osha would have a field day. This is why I am asking how to tell leg 1 vs leg 2 vs leg 3. This machine is plugged into a receptacle and then to a normal size service panel. I took the readings I got from my volt meter and walked a good way across the building to a machine I know runs good. I tested the legs and got the same everything. Oh well. I don't know.
You can charge without taking it out, under the hood. Use a battery tender while car is sitting during off season.
Yeah, usually that is true but unfortunately my battery seemed so depleted that hooking my charger to it while it was hooked up in the car wouldn't let the charger kick into gear and charge it. The car would just make random clicking sounds and the charger would throw errors. Was planning to replace the battery and pulled it and figured I'd just hook it up again while I had it out of the car to see if by some miracle it would begin charging and it did, thankfully! :D Not sure if it's suffered any degradation or not yet :-/ With battery back in the car now I do have the charger/tender hooked up to the engine bay + and - and it's maintaining.
Hardest thing I ever did. Everything the video said to be careful about, I did twice. 🤦🏽♂️ Glad I did it, but never again!!
haha, yeah, total PITA! Nice work getting it done though! I recently replaced a few heater blend door actuators in my daughters car and those are also under the dash and a nightmare to replace that maybe were even worse than this install :-/ haha.

How did you do your wire harness for the double Din screen radio
Heya! I actually added it when I ordered the radio from Crutchfield. When I ordered the radio from them I selected: * Metra 70-5517 Receiver Wiring Harness * Axxess AFDI-5V And then went with their "Crutchfield ReadyHarness™ Service" so they put together the full harness so I just had to plug and play. Saved me some time and for $25 it's hard to beat :D

Nice, im replacing the 1-2 accumulator on mine soon. I hate to work on my transmission but im not paying for a shop to do it 😂. Looks like a decently easy job too. Nice explorer by the way. Where did you get the carbon fiber trim?
Nice! Haha.. yeah, wasn't too bad! My main issue was not being able to find some of the parts that I wanted to replace. I can't remember which accumulators I couldn't locate now but it seems parts are phasing out for this older transmission now :-/
I don't understand. Why is hot to neutral 220v, while hot/neutral to ground is 120v??
Your hot to neutral reads 220v?? It should be 110/120 from hot1 to neutral/ground and 110/120 from hot2 to neutral/ground, and only 220/240 from hot1 to hot2.

Hey man where in Texas you at?
@@clg82 Heya! Between Austin and San Antonio.
Can you add luminescent light say if you had an ss instead of the zl1?
Spectrum lighting*
Heya! Yeah, you can add Spectrum lighting. There is a GM kit for that. Something like this, wildhammermotorsports.com/16-18-camaro-door-foot-well-spectrum-lighting-kit-includes-rs-2ss-light-programming-general-motors/ (or on the GM website, accessories.chevrolet.com/product/interior-spectrum-lighting-package-in-dark-night-84156586?bac=208869). It includes the wiring harnesses, door trim piece, etc, and I believe a code to take to the dealer that they would then program radio to add Spectrum lighting control. Kind of pricey as you would need to add the kit and then the carbon fiber door trim surround on top.

Are you able to bend the led strips to make turns?
You cannot bend them to make sharp like 90 degree turns. They do flex and such but do do a corner or something you can do a small loop which works. Govee has a FAQ on this to show you what I'm referring to here: community.govee.com/support/faqs/article/1-11-how-to-install-the-govee-strip-lights-in-the-corner-can-i-bend-my-govee-strip-lights
For some older 220/240v outlets, the test lead prongs on many multimeters are not long enough to make contact. My dryer outlet has this problem. It came with the house that was built in 1989. (BTW it was also installed upside down--ground plug down instead of up. I always say that some day I'll put in a new outlet and turn it the right way up. But I've been saying that for years, and now at age 79 I wonder if that day will ever come. Such is life.)
Ahh, good point! Def may need to buy longer tip test probes or something. I've found the ground plug up is usually in commercial/industrial settings and down in residential. I'm sure after all these years incident free you are fine :D Just don't drop a wrench onto a partially plugged in plug into the outlet :D lol. Being 79 and still up and active is impressive already!
@@D3RPZILLA Thanks. After writing that, I somehow found the energy to rotate the outlet. Took all of 10 minutes to go to basement, cut off breaker, remove 4 screws for outer cover, remove 4 screws that hold in outlet, rotate 180, and put back. I feel better, and I'm pretty sure that the intermittent problems with dryer not starting had to do with the weight of the heavy cord exerting a downward torque on the plug and loosening it just enough to break contact. Hope so anyway. BTW the outlet is an Eagle Electric, marked Al-Cu, with thick brown plastic and very recessed copper contacts--probably from '89.

Hello! Okay I have to know what the song is.
Hello! It is the song "A Lick and a Promise" by Splasher. Here is a link to it, ruclips.net/video/yiVITu2wjiU/видео.html :D
I replaced my cruise control buttons on my 1996 Ford Explorer XLT just a couple days ago. It was actually one of the easiest repairs that I have done on my Explorer. I reused my old ribbon cables. Thanks for your video.
@emmanuelgoldstein4371 Awesome! Glad it helped!
This is done correctly, and I'll explain why some of the comments below are ignorantly off base. Historically, old homes did not have dedicated ground wires. In that era, they used the obsolete NEMA 10 series plugs that had a neutral and two hots with no ground. In those old appliances they bonded the frame of the appliance to neutral, and accepted there might be stray voltage on the frame which could cause a shock. This allowed devices like old dryers to split the voltage into 120 V arms to drive the control board, electronics, and ancillary devices inside the dryer. If you have an old home with no ground wire, you may still need to use that style of plug for old appliances, but officially the NEMA 10 style plugs have been banned for new installations since 1996. Those old plugs were replaced with NEMA 6 series plugs with two hots and a ground wire (no neutral) as shown here. For new installations the preferred plug is a 4 wire NEMA 14R design, as shown at the beginning. Appliances that use NEMA 6 plugs don't have access to a neutral wire for splitting voltage, so if you change the plug you cap off the white home neutral wire in the box. A welder can use its transformer to make whatever step down voltage it needs, so a neutral to carry unbalanced current is unnecessary. The critical point is to not bond neutral to the ground with a bonding strap inside the appliance, the way it was done in the past. You'd never know, the appliance will likely work just fine. If you do this wrong, by wiring the ground of the appliance to the neutral, you may have created an illegal downstream bond between neutral and ground that can cause many problems. Such bonding can cause nuisance tripping of GFCI plugs, eddy currents that mess with AFCI breakers, and dangerous voltage on the home ground system, even in circuits unrelated to the circuit in question. Bonding straps were present in old dryers but it didn't matter since there was no system ground anyway. This means those old appliances don't play nice with modern 4 wire grounding systems, especially if you fail to remove the bonding strap inside. A better option than what was done here would be to buy a short commercially made adapter cord with a NEMA 14P male end and a NEMA 6R series female end. Make sure you get one with the correct gauge of wire designed to carry the current the breaker and wiring is designed for. When you test those adapters with a multimeter, they have neutral capped off and ground active on both ends. If you buy an adapter, you never need to change the wall plug back, and it retains four wire versatility in case the plug is ever used for multiple devices in the future. It may not be important to the current home owner, but future owners may find other uses for it.

That's the OEM block.. at least for the zl1. I believe it's the same on other models. I have an aftermarket block on my Xploder from XS Power though.
