@@alpinegarage8548 actually your experience inspired me to just go with a reman with a warranty. I don’t need the power and I don’t have your patience.
The combination of a short duration camshaft along with flat top pistons in a GT40P headed 347 is going to be a recipe for detonation. It will not only need premium but very conservative tuning to keep it from pinging like crazy.
Appreciate the feedback. We are adding a thicker head gasket and a cc or two to the head to lower compression a bit. If it’s a pinger, you’ll know soon.
Alpine, very intresting build, it happens that I am building a 347 and trying to understand the static compession ratio. Are you planning on running premium? Do you know your piston's (cc) valve relief? What was the combustion chamber (cc) size? Then, can you say what the head gasket thickness chosen?
What do you think of the build so far? Positives or negatives?
Glad you’re back on the storm trooper project! Love your content.
That was really good engine tech!
High praise coming from you Matt. Good
Luck on yours. Hopefully your machine shop is better then my two shops.

@@alpinegarage8548 yep, you can call up Cometic and they'll make head gaskets in any thickness you want.

👌👌👌❤️🔥❤️🔥😉😎
Did the rods have ARP bolts?
No they look like ARP but they were proprietary.
Ok
