I raise free range turkeys, and I just want people to understand that poultry are not vegetarians. They actually need large quantities of proteins. It's very cruel and unusual to make carnivorous, or omnivorous animals be vegetarian.
Otherwise this video is excellent, and I used this recipe for early thanksgiving, and it was delicious!

You could use a 5 gallon bucket from Lowe's if you got a really big turkey I don't think the plastic would ruined the taste you can put a plastic liner of some kind

Do you only brine fresh turkey? Are frozen turkeys usually brined before they freeze it?

You can brine fresh or frozen. I will be brining mine for 35 hours this year, I need that turkey to be extra juicy 😅😅

I usually thaw first in the plastic wrapper and then brine.

Stupid question but after you brine it can you still add the butter coating to it? Or just leave it as is?
