Despite Brett's clickbaity title I moved to NYC from halfway across the country with less than $1000, no job BUT I stayed with extended family for a couple of months in the burbs (this gave me a major advantage) until I found a job and could afford to move out into my own apartment. I don't recommend moving to NYC without a couple thousand saved up but it is worth living in NY for the experience and it was my long time dream to move there. Hope you're able to live there one day. that company you described that allowed you to get that chinatown apartment is literally ✨gentrification✨ sure they may be getting paid (hopefully) but in new york it's hard asf to find housing regardless of riches-
Every time I go to New York I stay with my family in Brooklyn or New Jersey and I always admired their hustle and determination as New Yorkers. It inspired me to start my RUclips channel and hustle hard toward happiness, fulfilment and monetization. The monetization part hasn't come together yet but that New York hustle definitely keeps me going. Great video Brett
@@iamdaviddor it’s okay so far, it’s definitely a good time since it’s a little slower it’s easier and less busy for you to take your time and explore the city so your not overwhelm. If your deciding to move before June it should be good time since it’ll be better hopefully with the current Covid situation. I definitely think with Winter everything will slow down a lot.

Now to plan the next "big move" (mid pacific move to vermont was tricky with car and a pallet of stuff. I like how minimal you can allow yourself to be living in NYC. I just want to rollerskate & skateboard everywhere there :) Thank you for such great content and clean editing
