Try track ir5. I have used it for years. With it you have natural viewing up, down, left, and right. Once you try it, you won’t go back and it is much less expensive than VR. Thanks again for your fine video! After hearing your thoughts on this L19 and another reviewer’s, I’m not sure that I will get this until and if they fix it’s issues. Sad, as I was excited to get this aircraft.
I keep meaning to check it out, most sets are sold out atm with the release, and its pretty pricy... i think my next purchase is the honeycomb yoke and throttle quadrant.

I'm pretty sure it was described as a port somewhere. I may be wrong. Anyway p3d4.4 plus support pbr also... So that alone doesn't exclude it.

It was a little twitchy, but not terrible... the gear up at the end was certainly a product of busy pilot and no way to tell gear status on 1.0 vers, 1.2 does update this. Amusingly it happens pretty often irl.

Nice review Rachel, you probably need a bit more more power and brakes to turn the amphibian as the two wheels under the floats are fixed in line with the floats themselves. Also speed is calibrated in MPH, hence you feeling it was fast as you were thinking in KTS as I did when I first flew it. Check out V 1.2 - lots of fixes and they added the gear lights to the amphibian! Enjoy.....
I saw the notes for 1.2 but I didn't get the email from them yet or know where to get it. Looks like it will fix a lot of issues.
I assumed the float noseweheels are castoring rather than steering.. it was heavy af... I was on the brakes pretty heavily turning it too... But I'm reluctant to hold one brake and power turn... That's s bald spot maker right there...
@@AvAngel I got the mail in the afternoon here (UTC+2) - if you didn't get it drop them a note via their Facebook page. Yes, its fixes a lot of stuff and adds some new things too like a visual gear indicator on the wet dog that you also suggested. I had a Cirrus with a fully castoring nose wheel, you could stand on one brake and turn on a sixpence (dime if you prefer!). I'm thoroughly enjoying the Bird Dog and I haven't flown much else in MSFS since I got it. Given the numerous underlying issues with the SIM and the state of the SDK I think its a great first effort but of course some don't see it that way. Thanks again for the review!

Got 1.3 today, based on notes, I think they nailed a lot of the issues, expect a re-review!
@AvAngel yes I got it too, I also found a really simple fix for the ramp start issue. Seems there is a fuel valve ASOBO hid away and didn’t document - seems having fuel on isn’t enough ;-). I found it purely by accident. Just hit alt-v and you are good to go. I reported it to the developer and they said they would try to add a fix to 1.3 so suggest you download again before your review.
This is a review of an early release. Virtually every "weird" thing has now been fixed. Remove the"copilot" by setting his (her) weight to zero. Flight model is spot on according to several pilots who also fly real L-19.
I posted a follow up and a couple of subsiquent videos. Indeed he has fixed everything I had issue with. Pretty impressed with how it turned out.

Odd because it's super loud for me...
The whisky compass is marked the wrong direction...Aeroplane Heaven had the same mistake in the Electra until I wrote them and attached an idiotproof manual on how a magnetic compass works, I believe both of the developers are using a 3D asset that I myself found and that has the numbers on the compass globe the wrong way....
I think the panel lines on the exterior, should be a little more subdued.
A little yeah, I think it would benefit from some weathering too.

What's the airport with the bears?

So far, I'm finding it nearly impossible to wheel land this thing
without ground looping... seems like it loses almost all rudder
authority which may or may not be a trait of this aircraft in real life.
My boss in VN told me "If anything happens to me, get it 30' off the runway and cut your power. You're going to flip it, but you'll get out of it alive."
