- A first look at the Partenavia P68B in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I try to be as fair as possible in the review, but the truth seems to be that this is very much a "version 1.0" aircraft, and needs a bit of work. I've no doubt the developers will continue working on it, but there are SO many really great aircraft in the same price bracket, it's difficult to recommend it right now.

Your reviews are top-notch. Much appreciated!!!
Glad you like them!
The bang you hear when changing to the inside wiew is the door slamming as you get in...lol
another great review! thanks!
What a beautiful plane! Internet says cruise speed is 160 knots. Stall at 57 knots.
Please keep up these reviews. You have both SAVED me money and COST me money with them. It is so nice to not have to just take a chance with one.
Yeah - I think I more or less took one for the team on this one.
lets hope they take notice and add more to this plane. Nice review..!
I wouldn't hold your breath, but you never know :)
Thanks for the review. I'll wait for a better version.
It's been updated now - it's not much better lol
Thank you for this review. I was thinking of picking this aeroplane up instead of the Blackbird Simulations C310 which, although I'm sure is excellent, is a Cessna twin and very similar to the C414 which I already own; the P68B would give me more variety. However, having seen your video, I'm going to wait to see how this product develops first.
Yep - best to wait with this one, I guess.
Enjoyed the video.
Good review.
Thanks!
Very interesting aircraft, hope the developer updates the bugs and stuff soon! got a lot of potential
We'll see :)
Your video help. Me. Thanks.
I do like a honest review.
Me too. I tried to be fair.
Beautiful little airplane! Hopefully they straighten out the bugs
I hope so too!
As someone who flies the P68B in real life, this came as a massive disappointment. The initial takeaway being that it sounds nowhere like a P68, it seems like they've gone for 172's sound files instead of getting it sampled from an actual aircraft. I get the logic it's the same engine but it sounds closer to an ATR taking off than a cessna and it gets really loud.
07:00 you've noted it correctly, it's extremely inaccurate! It has got some performance but no way it will climb at that speed, as a matter of fact it cruises just above 120kts and on rare days you will find it close to 140.
They might have missed an iconic feature where the yoke actually moves up after you pull it back as much as it could, and to stall it the yoke would need max up input which is back and up.
Great feedback - thank you!
Another Good Video as usual and I don't mind Odd especially in some European aircraft where the airspeed indicator is counter clockwise and along with the altimeter indicator but in this case this airplane is very odd indeed perhaps there will be updates one day.
Fingers crossed.
Fantástic
Fair assessment I’d say.
Yeah - not great, not terrible.
According to wiki it only has 2 x 200hp motors with 2-blade props. Hard to believe it pulls away that fast IRL. Cool looking aircraft though, and great video as usual :)
Yeah - it's acceleration seems way off.
I fly the P68B irl and the climb performance is nowhere that good. We follow 2500RPM and 25 inches of MAP on takeoff with a climb speed of 100, the VSI would be close to 1000fpm.
Tell Nemeth to remake the sound files for the Aerolite 103 they completely "F'd" UP! It sounds like an tractor going down the back-roads in Kansas hauling a load of potato's or like that old truck on the road in the James Bond movie "Live and let Die"!
Maybe the real thing sounds like that :)
Interesting plane with lots of potential. The autopilot is a mess. There ought to be a light somewhere to show it's activated. Hopefully they'll update it. Excellent review.
Well... the push button on the yolk stays pushed in :)
Oh, dear Jonathan, what a let down. Why oh, why do they release these aircraft when they’re not finished in this case by a long way? Thanks for the video and thanks for the heads up. I love these twin props by the way. The otter being one of my favourite, I even went as far to have my own livery made for it. One I think you should do sometime. ❤
Give them some time. It may be that Nemeth is no more than one or two developers working together.
I think if the bugs are ironed out with updates I'd happily buy this. It's a unique looking aircraft that I like but the bugs are what's stopping me at them moment. If and when the updates are doing would you consider a update video for it? Thank you for the review though, these are really good and helpful! Thanks!
Of course - I often go back to planes when they are updated :)
Great model I would pay for a model that uses a default flight model and avionics rather than the current product. Interesting review none the less.
It will be interesting to see if it gets improved quickly or not.
u should do a review of the cockspur mustang.. in my opinion is bad, i'd like to see yours :) gr8 video
I've looked at it in the past - search my channel :)
I somehow missed this being released. Unfortunately, I've sworn off buying from Nemeth Designs.
Do they have a bad track record then ?
There has been a lot of water under the bridge in the ~6 months since this was released... What is the current version please? How many updates have there been? Which of the issues described in this video have been fixed? Many thanks 👍
Fully aggree with your summary, competition is too fierce even in this price bracket. Based on past experience patches are unlikely, see their Yak published long time ago and still full of Bugs.
That's a shame.
nice video Jhon B . but i need a help if u don't mind in f_18 how to enter frequencies in radio stack? plz
I'll do a video in the F-18 soon.
What i mostly got from this is that it's very odd :D Just as well really, because i'm very broke. I hope they update it of course, and i wish it luck.
We'll see.
They need alot of work!!
Let's give them a chance - some time - and see what happens.
I wonder if you or anybody knows a way of stopping others playing MS 2020 on my PC, every time my grandson plays and has multiple aircraft crashes I keep having to reset and clear my "profile" and "logbook" via the cloud save and start again, he's got loads of other games to play but insists on MS 2020, sounds mean I know, but when you delete your profile and logbook it also delete's all settings etc and I have to reset everything again.
How about don't let your grandson use Flight Simulator :)
@@jonbeckett Yes I know it sounds simple, but he can switch it on when I am not there, I haven't the heart to tell him not to, I feel mean
😄, maybe I'll try to hide it and download X-Plane😂😂😂.
For now I’ll stick with my Islander
Don't blame you.
What's the price for this? Or where can I check this aircraft out?
I was wondering the same
You can buy it for about $20 from Nemeth Designs website.
Bought this after version 1.01 came out. Didn't fix the lack of propeller pitch adjustment, and the flying characteristics still seem somewhat unrealistic (glided about 7 miles from 2000 feet after the plane went 'dead' electrically while adjusting the throttle). Sent a complaint to Nemeth, but just got snarky responses. THis is a $10 plane at best. Buyer beware.
It's a shame when developers react negatively.
@@jonbeckett To be honest, I was probably a bit graceless when I contacted the developer... I was annoyed and let it show. The developer has made some significant updates, and I look forward to your review if you decide to give it a second look!
OK, I just found out that V1.02 has been released and after flying it for 1 short flight, fixes many if not all of my original complaints have been addressed. The propeller pitch works now, and the flight model seems to be much more realistic. Haven't had a chance to explore this update in detail yet, but I wanted to address my review and say that I now think this airplane is a good buy.
@@PJCole98 I just tried it - started flying a circuit, and immediately noticed the turn coordinator is broken :)
Developers will work on fixes and improvements but releasing something in this state wont do their reputation much good I should imagine.
I've never bought a Nemeth Designs plane before - so this was a first experience for me. Apparently the Yak they developed has a similar story.
Is it comparable with the BN Islander? I think the BN-Islander (Black Box Simulation) is much better made and worth the money...
The blackbox aircraft are MUCH better than this.
You must have the Beta version.
Nope - this is the release version, downloaded from their online store yesterday.
The last few releases from Nemeth have all been like this. Really bad configuration. I honestly don't think they know how to get constant speed props working in the sim. the SIAI 205 was exactly the same. And horrifically off flight dynamics. They were legends of rotor craft in the earlier sims, but they're just cash grabbing on MSFS, and their planes are always just broken on relase.
Watch the ratings Nemeth Planes get in the Marketplace. Tells the whole Story!
@@rudik2515 They are total rubbish.
It's a shame, because the 3D model is very nice.
This bird is far from finished like all others they made !
Money saved to spend elsewhere then.
Except for me :)
