    I do not get any component test option . I only get 4 option on black screen . I installed latest UEFI BIOS

    I pressed the f2 repeatedly & there r only 4 options showing -
    Memory test
    Hard Drive check
    Language
    Exit
    My laptop model - HP 15s db1061au
    Kindly help me. My keyboard is nt functioning properly.
    Whenever i press alphabets, its typing bold letters even when the caps lock is off. & Whenever i type the numbers, it's showing the special characters.
    I'm facing this issue from the last 4days, kindly help me ASAP

    If the extensive test drive option had already been done to a previous battery installed. How do I do it again on a new battery Install since I want to re-caliberate my battery but I get the hard drive test has already been passed. Kindly help

      @@HPSupport Threre is no option for Componenet Tests. Only 4 options are there.
      Memory Test
      Hard Drive Check
      Language
      Exit
      Actually my laptop is not charging beyond 80%. After 80 or 85% it would charge for 10 seconds then stop charging for next 10 seconds. I am facing this issue from last 2-3 days. Please help me

    I have a Hp Elite 800 G2 AllinOne desktop with Windows 10 Pro which randomly errors with POST ERROR Post configuration change prompts. I think it is happening when goes to sleep mode. I press ENTER and have run all the tests multiple times always passed so does not find anything. It then reboots and I am back in business after logging in. Until next time. Is this error hardware or Windows?

    Whenever I start my PC I have got HP PC Diagonise UEFI and Everytime I have to press exit key and go back to windows, can you help how to get rid of this????

      Press CTRL + Alt + Del on the blank screen.
      Click on Task Manager
      Click "File" - "Run a new task" If there is no "file" option, please click on the task manager under the "details"
      In the pop-up window, enter "msconfig" click "OK"
      In the system configuration window that appears, click "Service" and uncheck "App Readiness".
      Click "Apply" --- "OK"
      In the following window appears to click on the "restart"

      Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
      On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
      Press F10 to Save and Exit.

      +Apple Core Please turn off "Fast Startup".
      Right-click on the Start icon, choose Power Options.
      On the Power & Sleep screen (or whatever it is called in your version of Windows 10), Click "Additional power settings". It will either be on the right or bottom of the page, depending on your screen resolution.
      That takes you to the old Windows 7 power options. In the Left column, click on "Choose what the power buttons do"
      Click on the line with the sheild that says "Change the settings that are currently unavailable"
      UNCHECK the box that is ironically titled "Turn on fast startup (Recommended)".
      Click "Save changes".

    Hi! I had a problem with my hard drive and HP support sent a technician to change it. The new hard drive is empty without an operating system, then when I get the BIOS menu and press f2, a black screen appears with only two test options. Before changing the hard drive, I got the BIOS test menu, what's wrong?

    my laptops Wi-Fi switch is always on. when I take windows mobility centre, there is no Wi-Fi switch. I take help and it shows that "if a setting doesn't appear, it might be because the required hardware(such as a wireless network adapter) or drivers are missing. For example, if the turn wireless on button is unavailable, you might need to use the hardware switch on your computer to turn on the wireless adapter". my laptop is HP probook 4520s. what will I do

      Please follow these steps to do a system recovery:
      1) Turn off the computer.
      2) Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
      3) Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the Esc key to enter the Startup Menu.
      4) Now press the F11 key to access Recovery manager.
      5) On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot.
      6) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager.
      7) Under Help, click System Recovery.
      8) Follow the on screen instructions to complete the recovery process.

    My hard drive short DST have problem what to do

      +Study with Ankush You have to first try backing up data and then do Factory Reset if required. If not factory rest will erase all the data on the HDD.
      Whenever the Hard Disk Short/Long DST test fails that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive has failed and that requires a replacement to resolve the issue
      HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby
      Please try the below shown troubleshooting steps once:
      Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the AC/Power Adapter
      Step 02. Press and hold the Power button for more than 30 Seconds
      Step 03. Plug in the AC/Power Adapter (leave the Battery out for now)
      Step 04. Press the Power button and check if the Unit works normal
      If the above mentioned steps does not help, then you can try reseating the Hard Drive on your Notebook

    I tried this to fix my problems concerning UEFI. I can´t access UEFI. When I choose the UEFI boot option in Windows, the PC ends up in sytem configuration menu. When I choose boot option and boot from EFI it says ´no volume label´.

    Okay, I ran the quick test and all passed but will not boot to Windows 10 so ran the extensive test and it is still running - 6 days later with 119 completed iterations! What does this mean? Computer is a 14t - ac100 with Windows 10 OS.

    I completed the hard drive test without issues but I cannot exit the screen. I tried loading the BIOS Setup Default Settings as instructed in other questions here, pressed F10 to save and exit but I keep getting back to the black screen with the 3F2 error prompting me to run the diagnostics again. Same thing happens when I restart after that. Could you please help? Thank you

    sir in my laptop which is windows 7 when I click to hard drive check option nothing happens. and when I turn off the system and turn on after 5-6 hours it gives Windows recovery error and starts in normal way and after some time it again gets hanged. should I consider that this problem is due to loose connection of harddisk?

      +ashwani rao I would recommend you use whatever means you can to make a copy of any data on that hard drive to an external device, and look at replacing the hard drive. If your computer will still start up normally, make sure you have made a set of recovery media, if you haven't yet.

    I own a HP Pavilion Laptop that is only four months old-- I have had four different very active computer job people try to install something as simple as another HP product ( HP5660 printer) and no one has been able to get that to happen-- I have numerous returns of HP messages on my emails ----- but no real help of the install to the printer that I thought a HP customer support might be able to do ... Well at age 81 and very limited computer knowledge ,,,,,, here I am --- still no printer and the ability to go here to explain the mess --- as far as I am concerned HP laptop can go in the driveway with my Ford 150 running over it and then I guarantee it will not work ... What a hunk disaster of hours and hours and still no printer ... don,t expect much help from HP...

      if you know your model of your laptop go to hp website it will have what your pc came with as well as latest bios. and to change legacy to uefi that you have to boot into bios mode go to security and disable legacy enable uefi and turn on tpm if its there

      +Airin Akhi Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings. Press F10 to Save and Exit.

      I understand that you are experiencing an issue in exiting hardware diagnostic test.
      I will do my best to assist you.
      Type 'msconfig' in Start menu and uncheck HP Support Assistant and other HP related tools from 'Startup'. Now restart. These things won't be running again when you boot up.
