    Thanks guys for your help, it worked. I had a comp start with black monitor, I disconnected everything from my comp and let it sit for 15 min, then I took the side panel off, dust city inside, I vacuumed the entire inside very carefully I might add, I loosened the memory sticks and reset them carefully, that is it. This is a 2006 computer and it rebooted just fine and works great. Thanks Again guys.

    Thank you. Thought I was going to have to take my wife's computer to the shop, but your video saved me a trip. One thumb drive taken out got it going again. Guess the 'puter was trying to boot from it and couldn't, so it froze.

    In my case when I am turning on the ups,

    I have a desktop computer and I just fixed mine. I had a black screen with a white dash at the upper left hand corner. I tried pressing F2 and F8 and F10. That did not work. Then after watching this video he said to unplug everything that you do not need. I did that. I unplugged the power, printer, speakers and the ethernet from the router. I took the power cord and plugged it in to the actual outlet instead of the power strip. I turned it on and it worked. Thank you. I do not know exactly how I fixed it but it is now fixed.

    Sir please help!
    When I turn on my pc, the lights on the graphics card and the lights on the led fan blink once and stop! And the fan also spins for a millisecond and stops! But the lights on the motherboard are finely lit up! Sir please help me!!!

    Help. MY pc turns on and I can hear my fans and stuff and it brings me to the normal startup screen on my moniter and then it goes to startup windows and then it just brings me to a black screen. Any ideas on how I can fix this. (Will all my things be deleted?)

    unplug everything but keyboard, mouse and monitor got me up and running! Funny thing is I am a computer geek and this advice waa simple but easy to overlook as I was too deep into my situation to look outside the box a bit and try that. Thank you!

    Very helpful. On my PC, on boot it spun up the fans for second, then died, and repeated + beep. (No bios message.) As advised, I tried reseating the memory, and now it works again.Thanks!

    i tried restarting my hp pavilion all in one to erase everything but it won't work so it comes up with a trouble shoot screen iand i press continue to windows 10. and all it does is has the hp logo and turns off and turns on every 2 minutes

    Hey HP..I have a problem with my PC I left my house for holiday for 1 week and I turn off the power..and when I came back home to open it it doesnt want to turn on..I got green light everytime I press the on button but I dont hear any fan and my monitor is black.       1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
      2) Check for updates.
      3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

    Mine is 7 years old and doesn't start anymore. Yesterday it took a few times and the day before that it started and worked just fine. If you start it it works fine. The starting is the problem

    My 16 year old HP computer (still using XP) started doing funny things while I was installing Norton 360. The computer started making sounds as if it was in overdrive. I pushed the start/stop button. but it wouldn't stop even after I pressed the button for 10-15 seconds. I had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in a few minutes later, the only things that worked were the power supply fan, the fan on the processor, one green light on the mother board and a yellow light below the start/stop button in the front. Now I can only stop these by unplugging the computer. When I replug the computer, the 4 above features go on right away without using the start/stop button. In other words, the start/stop button is now totally useless. I have tried removing all devices and memory cards and putting them back one by one, but to no avail. The only interesting thing that I noticed was that when the ribbon cable going from the hard disk to the motherboard is disconnected from the hard disk, then the hard disk starts turning. It did the same with the other hard disk I got from a different computer, but still nothing on the screen. HELP. Where does my problem lie?

      +Sharon Ross Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:
      If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.
      If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.
      With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
      With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
      Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

      whodidit un plug it from the power source, plug it back in. That (based on my limited knowledge) ‘resets’ the computer, and it sometimes fixes a lot of issues.

    Before my computer just start and fan runs just few second and it again restart the computer..this process goes on..

    i just remove my ram and clean it and again inserted..wow that worked, it started...

    Went to go use my PC today and it would not start. No sounds, no fan movement, the only thing showing life was the green light next to the power socket so power is going into the power supply. It was working perfectly fine last night.
    I can’t remember the exact specs but I think it’s an Omen 880 Windows 10. I cannot afford to lose my files as they are extremely important to me.

      Bro don't worry, files/data are never dependent on Windows or Computer. Just remove the hard disk from laptop/Desktop and connect to other computer/laptop as secondary storage drive. You will be able to access the files. You can also insert bootable pendrive if your Operating system(Windows/Linux) is corrupted and access the files. In the worst case a partition may get corrupted in hard drive which will only affect files in that partition( mostly C drive where the Operating system is installed ). This is why you never keep important files in partition where system is installed like C Drive. :)

    I have HP Pavilion dv6-3035TX my problem is I have black screen displays with no error Messages the LEDs glow and the fans are working, but computer fails to startup , and displays a black screen . I think my GPU (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650) got burned so now I need to change the entire Motherboard .I've looked online for a similar Motherboard of my (wx005pa) but I didn't fine a compatible one . Please Help me finding similar Motherboard . my Motherboard Number is (wx005pa)

    If a computer was working fine, but then you moved house and the pc was moved around a lot, and when you plug it in again and push the button to turn it on it’s completely dead, no lights no fans nothing springs into life at all...what are the first things to rule out as the problem? Blown power box? Loose screw shorting out the board?, lose connection/plug? Thanks for any suggestions

      Salem Macabre I recommend following the steps in this document (c02217843) on when the Screen is Blank after Starting the Computer. If the screen is still black after following the steps in the resource, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please go to Google search and enter 'contact HP worldwide'. Your first option should be the site for contacting HP, when you click on it you will be prompted to choose your country/region.

      The fan of the computer ( ventilator if we can call it?) stoped working.
      When i start my pc after 30 sec i hear my pc get burn so i tru off it very fast. How to fix the fan please?
