I have never touched the beginners method or CFOP, I went directly for Roux. My main deciding point is that you don't need to memorize stuff, just understand how things work. I don't even understand notations so I can't do any algorithms anyways, that's how intuitive this method is. The only things I had to memorize was Sune and J-Perm, that's it. After getting sub 45 seconds I was happy and put the cube away for 1,5 years. When I picked it back up I could still solve it by memory in 1 minute. I don't think this would have been possible with any other methods.
@@scientiaestpotentia2007Those are hard for you because it’s a new method with new experience, but once you memorize all the algs, learning their advanced counterpart would become less difficult but more time consuming, but if you want my tip about which to memorize first, I recommend in this order: Beginner F2L, 2-Look OLL(easier than you think), 2-Look PLL, Cross Advanced F2L, Full PLL, Full OLL, Look Ahead, other tips and tricks
zzcross is definitely the best out of all of them because its basically cfop, but u orient edges, like in zz, while doing the cross (i didnt create this method i dont know who did).
I've been using Roux a lot lately, and it's been really fun just learning how to plan out first block as sometimes it can also lead to a really good cross if I want to use cfop for that solve! I might switch to Roux as my main method at some point if I get really good at it, but for now, I still average sub 25 consistently with cfop whereas with Roux I'm all over the place since I'm not used to look-ahead on it yet lol
Also, Roux is surprisingly really good for one-handed. I used to think that it would suck due to the M slices being hard on one hand, but when I saw other people using it, I gave it a shot. Found it a lot of fun as the block-building step was so much easier and more intuitive than f2l, and even the dreaded M slices weren't as bad once I got used to the table trick.
I learned Roux last week and I gotta say it's lots of fun and extremely intuitive. I'm currently working on getting sub 60 and after that I'll head straight to CFOP.
When it comes to no rotations, time to learn and how small the amount of moves you can move, it goes to roux. But when it comes to better handgrip, more complex and popularity it goes to cfop
More complex? I would definetly say that roux is more complex, due to having less limitations. Cfop is mostly algorithmic and the only Thing you can aply to cfop that you can't really aply to roux is influencing eo before ll. Pretty much any f2l Trick works in roux, even pseudoslotting, plus other Stuff like solving Blocks on wrong Centers, different coloured Blocks etc.
I want to add to your points a little bit. Cfop has essier lookahead, but it doesn't make it "better"; you can learn to lookahead on roux, it's just a little harder. Cfop has more possibilities for learning advanced algs, but roux has more freedom to build the blocks more efficiently. Cfop solvers use more of their solve time doing algs, thus having a high tps but roux solves have less moves on average, thus not needing as high of a tps as cfop.
I got a pb of 35 second with the beginner method but I really want to learn how to do the cfop method but it seems soo complicated. I looked at jperms video a couple time but is seems extremely complicated, even though is not.
You have to learn it bit by bit, try just learning one f2l case that you see very often, then every time you see it use the new algorithm you learned. If you forget then make sure you have access to look at the solution to that pair again in case you forget
@@1MOVE I learn few algorithms for oll and pll algorithms and I can recognize some cases i didnt know before and just had to memorize them. For F2L I'm starting to get it bits by bits and getting better at it
