Gaycation is probably the best WotC segment so far. The buildup, the drama, the setup and payoff, MBT getting to be earnest about biphobia, it truly has it all
Strange request, could we get an episode of WotC where the stories come from like r/thathappened and other things where it is openly understood that the stories are comically fake? Of course everything we hear from the usual subreddits has a decent chance of being fake, but like can we get a special episode where we KNOW the stories are super fake? Cherry on top would be if this gets addressed at the very beginning and then every story is taken with deadly seriousness for the rest of the episode
Commenting before listening, but if this is a the post I read in the LvK discord, this is going to be a fucking riot. The Mental Gymnastics gold medal goes to men and it was hard won. “Men cannot resist the gaycation” was the line that fully sent me
Just got to the update on the first one and I fucking choked on my drink because of Danny psychically calling this shit. Dude this gaycation story is kinda sad but also one of the funniest things I've ever heard, holy fuck, I'm in tears
At the end of the story now, I'm shocked at how the husbands don't just get into roleplay. Rent a hotel, have your wife show up with a fake moustache + strap-on and have your own gaycation. The wife can pretend to be into it, slowly "hypnotize" him over however long and you get to do this whole thing without any cheating or risking being kidnapped in Ibiza.
Ok, final final thing, the conclusion you all came to for the 3rd story is EXACTLY how I felt about the Stepdad one from the RJ episode. The initial reaction shouldn't have been ridicule despite how incredibly funny the idea was, and I don't think the root cause (in memoriam of a friend vs "need to be a real man") being substantially more legitimate here changes that. It was important to them, and the way to get them to change is at least starting out with understanding.
Ok I can tell from the title what post they’re talking about because I (and probably many, many other people) sent it in and oh my god this is just one of the most quintessential WotC posts to me, I knew they HAD to cover it
I just watched RSlash cover the gaycation story right before this and in his commentary he made reference to the Utah brain chemistry story you guys covered in the “mountains that make you gay” episode 🤣 man I fucken love the internet sometimes. Also I was waiting for the moment that they found out that Danny was right on the money about the sissy hypno things and you guys did not disappoint 🤣🤣 can’t believe it took Peeps this long to unlocked his angry telepathic communication ability
I really hope the guys family wasn't homophobic or tore into him about his sexuaility. He definitely needed to be criticized for other reasons. But from the way the story was told I made it seemed like his family gave him a real hard time specifically because he was gay after his wife told them
There’s not really any indication of that. But it can be kinda easy to imagine many different reasons the guys family tore into him. Personally, I thought the father was angry at his son for being such a failure of a husband. But there’s nothing else from the FIL after turning the husband away so can’t really say
From what I got by the conversation since the mother really went hard on OP because she thought the OP was a cheating asshole and turns out it was her son. I think it's like the family has a strict loyalty rules/belief that when their son and the brother-in-law basically being unfaithful regardless if it's gay or not, it's a massive issue
1. Correct 2. Correct 3. Correct Bottle Night mentioned: 9 episodes (two on patreon) KILLS: 9 (two on Patreon - Kill Button merch when?) see ya next time :)
Maybe this is too much, but I think that for the thumbnails it could be cool to have the wotc couch illustration and instead of the blue background there could be the topical image.
i just feel so compelled to comment here for some reason, like i suddenly understand that the metrics would be so important to this podcast but i can't place why.
You can't really say this an advice podcast when half the show is analyzing a comedic creative writing exercise. I'd appreciate some realistic questions taking up more of the runtime as funny as that was
I disagree with the second one, especially considering all the times they chastised people for taking the "reddit epic own" option. The adult thing to do is directly confront the kid, tell him he's been letting him win the entire time and refuse to play with him cause he's been a huge jerk. It would have gotten the point across without going into "epic reddit own" territory. OP is the asshole for not being an adult about this. Surprised the crew were so inconsistent this time.
Uh not to say the husband and BiL were in the right or anything, but what is up with them repeatedly getting kicked out of their houses? Seems like a massive overreaction in all 3 cases.
Nah, if your partner will not drop the idea of a holiday that’s explicitly for cheating on you and is making your time at home uncomfortable, they need that reality check.
I was thinking the same thing when the husband was kicked out of his parents house and how the wife said the father was "on the war path". Like we don't know the full context for why they were that angry but being in his 40s his parents are easily late 60s early 70s AT LEAST. So maybe the reason he was so mortified about being seen as "gay" did have some irl reason. But then again with the sissy hypno reveal who knows, could easily been "why the fuck did you walk out on your family for gay sex?"
Not a massive overreaction. Person she married told her he wanted to go cheat on her to her face in a really stupid way. Fully deserved beyond just a “get out of my face” and going to another room. Absolutely reasonable to tell this person to leave your general vicinity.
Surprised they gave NTA to the second post because OP was way out of line. He should've talked with his girlfriend about it instead of solo causing strife with her family members to get his le epic Reddit own.
dear WOtC AITA for investing my family's savings after getting an awesome tip from a reliable source? I(35M) have been a huge listener of the Talk Tuah podcast. my wife (24F) of 10 years doesn't like this.(I don't understand why I'm literally listening to women) Hailey Welch told me that $HAWK would go to the moon so I immediately bought 200,000$ worth of $HAWK. Since the value dropped to 0 my wife hasn't been talking to me and has been crying whenever I try to talk to her(immature much). I think we just need to have an honest conversation where I can explain that we just need to HODL and that this is just a bunch of FUD. AITA?
Does Ibiza have high altitudes?
asking the right questions

how am I just realizing 49 episodes in that "becky on the ones and twos" is reby
?
Well I would never have realized it if not for your comment lol
Rebby genuinely does everything, it's kinda wild

I love the bit for the thumbnail. Makes the episodes so much better

Surely he lives in high altitude
I love how we keep using other pictures! Though I don't think anything can beat the fridge
Danny Being a CounCelor in will of the Councel feels so perfect.
how they didn't mention the yu-gi-oh card Pulling the Rug is insane.
I love how unwilling Jordan is to go along with the "we'll all go on the gaycation" bit, he clearly needs to be better conditioned by Joseph.
At the end of the story now, I'm shocked at how the husbands don't just get into roleplay. Rent a hotel, have your wife show up with a fake moustache + strap-on and have your own gaycation. This is the best episode of WotC so far i say this with loud happy thoughts
This could have just been the gaycation story and it'd still be the best WotC episode yet
I just watched RSlash cover the gaycation story right before this and in his commentary he made reference to the Utah brain chemistry story you guys covered in the “mountains that make you gay” episode 🤣 man I fucken love the internet sometimes.

Damn if they had recorded this a bit later in the week we would have had an intro about Luigi Mangione
This has to be the best episode yet.
I really hope the guys family wasn't homophobic or tore into him about his sexuaility. He definitely needed to be criticized for other reasons. But from the way the story was told I made it seemed like his family gave him a real hard time specifically because he was gay after his wife told them
I think they were just baffled that he was reciting sissy hypno propaganda to them.
There’s not really any indication of that. But it can be kinda easy to imagine many different reasons the guys family tore into him. 1. Correct
2. Correct
3. Correct

what if we had bottle night at the gaycation

Hailey Welsh does a rugpull with crypto right after working with MrBeast, Logan Paul and KSI? Damn that's crazy, who could have seen this coming?

Petition to go back to the old thumbnail format.

Don't forget about the wife draining their joint account.

The one with the 12 year old was way out of line? Brother, he just beat him in a video game.
All he did was win in a video game, that’s literally it
