- While going on a trip down memory lane, I re-discovered my love for the soundtrack of my childhood. So I decided to make a "blank music hits real hard" edit based on the same videos by The Mammalizer.

All music featured in this edit was composed by Tsukasa Tawada. Pokemon Battle Revolution was the first Pokémon game for the Wii and supported connectivity with the Nintendo DS, allowing Trainers to battle using their Pokémon from the Generation IV main series games while using their Nintendo DS as a controller. It was developed by Genius Sonority (the same minds behind Pokemon Colosseum) and was released in Japan on December 14, 2006, two weeks after the Wii launch. It was then later released in the United States on June 25, 2007.

If The Pokemon Company had a service that was basically Showdown but it connected to Pokemon Home, allowed you to use any Pokemon for online battling, and had PBR tier animations, I would buy it immediately. No story, no region to explore, just Pokemon as well animated as possible.
I would, too. Even though I dislike competitive battling for the reason that I have skill issues (lol), I would still buy and play and just have fun. It’d be amazing.

@Galdr I mean, since you could customize your teams and battle rooms, you could simply play with friends.....which would be more forgiving than playing with Rankers

That's the point almost every pokemon game has a killer soundtrack. From the mainline titles to the most forgotten of the spin offs and even the freaking Sun and Moon anime. If you start to dig through this franchise soundtrack you'll be guaranteed to find some gems, ops I mean jams.

literally grew up on revolution. As a kid i thought it was the literal coolest thing to see my pokemon turn 3D and i tried catching as many new pokemon as i could just to see them in 3d
As great as this music is, I keep expecting to hear the announcer every now and then. It's so hard to separate the two cause it feels like they complete each other.

I genuinely think that developers have approached The Pokemon Co about making something similar but they know it would blow Gamefreak's games out of the water so they don't let them lol, especially since GF moved to 3d and they would really get exposed. It probably took a lot to greenlight new Pokemon Snap, but it's a totally different genre of game so it makes sense.

The start of stargazer is probably my favorite part. All those trainer intro poses…“The battle to determine the strongest trainer, begins now!”…I get so many emotions coming up just from that line. Hands down one of my fave games of all time.

I know its dead, but I wanna give an honorable mention to the online menu of the game.
It was so calming and peaceful before going into random chaotic matches.
It’s not dead. Wiimmfi (fan-made, free Nintendo WFC-like service) and Discord keep it alive.

The level was ridiculously high back then. Colosseum too. So glad i could experience it as a kid. Goosebumps everytime i hear it back.

I used to get together with friends to play doubles in this game, the animations really blew my mind back then.
I didn’t think much of the soundtrack at the time, but now it’s incredibily nostalgic. I love it.
Theoretically, since the Pokémon Switch games of nowadays don't include all Pokémon or moves anymore, a Pokémon Battle Revolution 2 with Pokémon HOME compatibility, and also IS compatible with every Pokémon and move WOULD be possible, since the game is just about battles and doesn't have to feature large explorable areas or a story.

That would be amazing, especially if it had backwards compatibility with the DS/3DS games so that you could transfer Pokémon from those games to Pokémon Home
man, Tsukasa Tawada was such an amazing composer. i can only hope they will being him back to write future pokemon soundtracks. i can only hope to hear those motifs in a new light. the motif of Colosseum, xd: gale of darkness, and battle revolution. i hope that sometime Genius Sonority can get to make a pokemon spin off game like xd and colosseum again. honestly i wish that game freak would team up with them to go back to the orre region and make like an ultimate pokemon game. open world, gripping story, and maybe throw in poketopia as post game content. maybe this way they could implement a pokemon showdown like battling system. make your own teams easily or go in with randomized teams. a battle sim tower would be pretty cool to see. and yet, a fan can only dream.
Was he over the Shadow Saga as well? I liked how you could tell the vibe of the locations you arrived at in XD/Colosseum just from the music.
I mean he is still composing for Pokémon games, but only mobile games unfortunately since Genius Sonority got downgraded to a mobile studio.

This game didn’t only have beautiful music, but the graphics, direction, animation, 3D models, characters and everything! Even modern pokemon games can’t have a slightest bit of PBR charm

Sunset colosseum OST to this day is still one of my favorite Pokemon songs
Can't even describe how impactful this game and the Gen4 game were for me during the later 2000's. I listen to the entire OST at least once a month with the last time being a few days ago.
This mix+editing is in the same tier as Mammalizer's "Gen 4/5 music hits hard" videos. Thank for showing PBR some modern love.

As someone who played a ton of Colosseum and XD, i'm so sad I never picked up on that 🥲
I SWEAR that Joe's theme has motifs from both Colosseum and XD's Miror B battle themes.
They did use Colosseum motifs in Battle Revolution! The opening, Leader battles, and certain stadiums had them! 🤩

This game was an absolute masterpiece. Its sad to see the music subtly get lost in time. I really hope that they bring this game back as a remake or a touched up version with the same sound track. It would be nice to here remixes of the music since it was so well done. Gen 5 good. I want to see a more engaging battle experience like this in dlc. Like they literally had the voice over guy voice over the battles. How epic is that.

Gateway coliseum will forever be one of my favorite battle themes in all of Pokemon. It was so magical to me that I could play random people all over the world in my favorite game for the first time. I always chose this Stadium just for the music and would drum my wiimote with the percussion. But it specially has fond memories for me because I won my first tournament ever and met my best friend to this music in 2009 regionals. Pokemon is such a wonderful thing!
Omg so nostalgic. Played through this game in middle school and I still listen to the music till this day. Such a joy hearing these. Hopefully this can come to virtual console or gets remade.

God, Main Street and Crystal Colosseums
These two themes played in my head an absolutely unhealthy amount as a kid, and I still remember them perfectly
*THE* best soundtrack of its generation hands down, back then when TPC actually cared for his fans
PBR was and still is awesome. I played it for hours just trying to get everything in it. And now that I recently discovered we can obtain shiny variants of the costumes from the colosseum leaders, I’ll be playing for a long time just to try for one lol.
Also, I loved how when you send out a Pokémon, the Pokéball’s effect is different depending on what kind is used.
Ultra had the green-yellow around it, Great had blue, Cherish had red… it was really neat!
This alongside Heart Gold & Soul Silver was peak console Pokémon for me! 🌃🌉🌠🌌

It was a random summer day when I got this game when I was just getting back into pokemon after missing gen 4. I'll never forget when I first heard the themes for the title card and the Pokemon center.

Tsukasa Tawada never wrote a bad song in his life. Every single Pokémon soundtrack he worked on was amazing.
I love how the intro for Taylor's theme onwards almost all other themes pay a direct homage to the osts of Pokemon Colosseum games.

Oh my god I’ve been having MAD nostalgia for this game whenever I listen to the OST while I study, it makes me so happy to see videos like these that show people still remember this fantastic game and it’s BEAUTIFUL soundtrack!!! Ah man you brought me back to a time I love. This was my favorite 3D Pokemon game despite not being like Colesseum or XD. I remember going to my friends house and we’d always love seeing our DPPlt Pokemon on the big screen. The expressiveness was just ahead of its time it’s unfortunate modern Pokemon games despite the leap to 3D haven’t met the same level of expression. But by far the music was always great and I’m happy to know it still bops and has aged well like most Pokemon music. TL;DR: Battle Revolution was ahead of its time and was the Stadium for us Gen 4 kids.
Sashay's theme and magma colloseum were by far the best themes in the game imo. I would play them on repeat like halfway through highschool.

Nintendo has remastered or made a remake of almost all the old Pokémon games. Pokémon Snap, Pokémon explorers, almost all of the main Pokémon line games, and yet, we are missing a remake of this masterpiece of a game and Pokémon ranger :(

I didn't play this as a kid, but.
I started a long distance relationship USA/UK with a friend of mine. On my first visit in 2010 we picked up this game cause we both had played the Stadium games. Hype around SS and HG was real too. He watched me play this during that particular visit and we couldn't believe the music. I got to show off my skills to the best OST. Seeing all this again, I actually started to well up during the end credit part of the video. So many memories.
Reception Desk (our fav track) was my phone ringtone for 3 years after that visit. Him and I now live in the same spot, and are married (gonna be 7 years). This game holds a special place for me. Thank you for making a video about this gem soundtrack with one of my favorite things, low opacity video overlay.
The amount of euphoria and nostalgia I have from this game and its music is INTOXICATING, thank you for recognizing the glory that is Battle Revolution. :D
God I remember this game. The only thing I could never quite beat was the final battle in Stargazer Colosseum. Even with my battle tested Trick Room team, I always came up just short, the last trainer is very good. Even my brothers goofy, jank teams would fall just short. Good times

Thank you so much for compiling a video of this masterpiece. The soundtrack to this game is forever ingrained in my head and honestly I think it represents some of the best aspects of pokemon battling and themes of what a battle is in the pokemon world. So many memories with this game, i deeply regret ever swapping it with my friend for Twilight Princess back in the day (still a good game ofc). I think waterfall, sunset and magma Colosseum were my favourites. Okay, theyre my top three... but the Receptionist Desk music lives rent free in my head.

Hmnnnn, your new appreciation of this ost has opened me up to the idea this soundtrack could have some good pieces here and there, when before the music sounded more like a discount monkey ball ost. I wish I could reciprocate the hype, but I apricate the dedication. Neon Coliseum through Vs. Sashey, was my favorite part.

All these tracks were so nostalgic I loved all these tracks, but my favorite was Gateway Colosseum. It’s epic but also really calm and it fits so well with the night time stages, and if you use rain.
