Which Pokemon game do you think has the best music?
All of gen 5, at least you can't disagree it has a bunch of bangers
R/S/E has very good music imo but tbh Scarlet and Violet has some peak music, ESPECIALLY the area zero theme tbh, sounds ethereal and majestic
Gen 8 has the best OST by far. Every gen has its own pack of amazing tracks but gen8 has the most, and they really hit harder than ever.
gen 4 had the best route themes
this reply section shows that you can choose p much any gen, they're all really good tbh
(personally gen2, and especially the hgss remakes)
Thinking back, how the heck did the DS/3DS even have the ability to produce such sounds and still sound good XD
The DS had a really good audio circuits. I pulled in my earphones and just chill with the music.
The DS also had the circuits for GB games. That's why in HG/SS you can use the item to put 8-bit music.
Apparently DS (the first one) couldn't handle the game and crashed because of the music. You had to use a DS Lite at least to be able to run the game without it crashing
@@ItsukazutrapIf you're talking about B/W, then no, the first-gen DS can handle them just fine. At least mine can (EU-Version of Game and Hardware, which probably doesn't matter in this case).
@@Itsukazutrap hmmm... I had one DS phat... I owned original Black and White2, and also have it running in r4 before i got money to buy original... in both experiences the game never crashed because of music or anything like
True man... hear Final Fantasy A2 on DS, just marvelous soundtrack here... the chip was capable to retain some quality from east west libraries... good sample selection was also part of the ingredient
Gen 5 is made entirely of bangers. The fact that the instruments in the route themes change slightly based on the season shows how much love they poured into the games
Same with X & Y, ORAS & Sun & Moon. Best quartet of music.
It even changes if you’re running or walking or standing still. The detail is just astounding
Gen 5 is ( to me ) the worst Gen in the Matter of Soundtrack. I hate every Soundtrack except Route 10 from B1/W1 and the Colress Battle Theme from B2/W2

The Gen 5 compilation is always the most fun
5:22 has to be the most iconic and breathtaking of the new gems. Feels like you have to make a comeback

Because Gen 5 is peak. I mean, Ghetsis last fight theme also sounds more terrifying than Giratinas. And Giratina is as close as Pokemon gets to the Devil itself.
@@toolatetothestory yeah definitely, but i wish Ghetsis' theme kept a more fast paced but still creepy/horror vibe, it felt like a nothing burger to me compared to that insane battle with N

IN MY OWN OPINION… gen 5 hands down is the best generation of pokemon. It is some of their best work. Between the soundtrack, atmosphere, battling style, Pokemon sprites, new Pokemon, story, elite 4, and on and on…. Hands DOWN, best games. Criminally underrated because of the hate it got when it came out.

I remember beating Pokemon Black for the first time and hearing the credits and I literally shot up saying "IT'S NOT OVER YET!!"
The music was way too hype to give the impression that the story was over 😭🌸
For me, B/W doesn't end until I rematch the E4 and battle Alder to officially take the title of champion. I feel like people often forget about the surprisingly long postgame of B/W.

@sodiumplate6966 Sorry, what I meant to imply by my first comment was the music gave me an impression that the overall story wasn't over, ignoring post-game, which was confirmed with BW2's later release. But BW2's ending had the opposite impression, where I felt the story was finished.
5:02 Furret isn't a gen 5 Pokémon, nor a gen 4 Pokémon, which is what the Furret walking meme ultimately became known for. So it's a gen 2 Pokémon walking to a gen 5 song for gen 4 remakes. Can't get much more ironic than that
People REALLY sleep on Kalos’ ost. Personally, I like it more than Unova’s but that’s my bias as that was my second Pokémon game. But I started with the late Sinnoh Card Game, then Unova anime, the first game I played was my friend’s copy of Black 2, & my first game was Alpha Sapphire. & Sun & Moon were my first hype cycle minus Z. Which sadly never came to be until next year, LOL!

I’m kinda biased as a musician who likes Greninja, but I think X and Y’s soundtrack was really good! I love how they took a more orchestral approach to the music in a lot of instances. Kinda wish they’d do it again.

Man gen 4 really was peak pokemon. And while every game since Diamond and Pearl has been so hit or miss, I dearly believe the only thing each game has nailed every time is the music. Whether the games are good or bad, the music has always been immaculate. And while I wish pokemon would stop pumping out unfinished games so frequently and quickly, I do believe the music will always be amazing.

Honestly, gen 5 to me sounds less and less like Pokemon, even if I was still young when the games dropped. That's when the music started to change. Definitely worthy of the title soft reboot. Sure, gen 4 was pretty different too, but it still has that pokemonyness. in my eyes.
