Huge shoutout to Hunter Falco, ProfessorTops, Noa_Kyogre, and Grand_Ginger for also finding this Groudon costume before me AND to anyone who ever attempted this hunt (like YourFriedBread and Chrystalials) for constant motivation!

1. Why Groudon?
-There are 5 other costumes: Roserade, Pachirisu, Kyogre, Lucario, & Electivire. Groudon & Electivire are the easiest in terms of their colosseum challenges, AND they appear to be the ones that can be hunted with Perfect Point rematches! Groudon also happens to be my favorite because Ruby is my favorite Pokemon game
2. I am NOT the person who was in an article about this hunt earlier this year. That was ProfessorTops, and his video on this hunt will hopefully be up soon!

To this day I still love how absolutely "weird" pokemon battle revolution is. SHINY costumes? I need to know what the thought process behind them was for Genius Sonority.
This is the most exciting thing thats been filmed in Pokemon history honestly, seeing such a formerly obscure feature coming to light is so awesome!
Id say the Nick Robinson Pokemon is up there with this one

This was such a cool idea for a hunt, I never knew the Trainer's COSTUMES could be shiny! Congrats Matt, five years in the making and it was worth it!
Too bad they ruined it by making it so you can't get it if you already got the regular outfit.

I'm a big fan of weird and unique hunts that go beyond regular shinies, and I had never even heard of the shiny costumes before, so massive kudos for spear heading the hunt for these
Groudon is one of the best legends in my opinion, the scene where he is fighting kyogre, he is surrounded but he still fights, that is the mark of a legend.

That isnt the best part. Despjte being at such a "disadvantage" rayquaza still deems it an even enough fight that groudon could win. So rayquaza interrupts it

Shiny costumes are such a cool mechanic. I just wish you could get both variants of the costume, it's a super cool badge of honor
I've got an arbitrarily difficult challenge for you: All 7 shiny Minior.
Minior is (currently) only available in Gen 7, where every shiny Minior is black. However, once one is transferred to Pokémon Home, it appears as a dark version of one of the seven colors of the rainbow.
It would be super neat to watch you theory craft and grind out the best way to approach this challenge
Probably just Masuda method, as the form of the offspring depends on the form of the parent/s. It's not really a complicated challenge.

What an amazing video Matt, loved watching it! I remember hearing about this hunt when I joined the full odds community back in 2019 and it was such an obscure little piece of knowledge very few people knew about. It has been really exciting seeing you guys pursuing your costumes quests on Twitter over the years and people finally getting them. Watching this video and following your quest really felt like watching shiny hunting history being written in front of my eyes. Major congrats on finally getting your costume after 5 years and countless uncatchables dude, it's such an achievement!
This video made me realize how much time I've wasted. Seeing the dates go by over the course of 5 years really hit me. Even if it took you 5 years to finish this hunt and and you had a 2 year gap from 2017-2019 you still did what you set out to do. I've done nothing in that same amount of time. No goals, no ambitions. I've just lived day after day after day like a zombie, only getting worse in the process. I don't know if watching this video is going to make me change something but at the very least it gave me this realization once more.
its easy to bring yourself down when comaring to others, we all move at a different pace and life can feel like a stalemate for many years than all change in a matter of weeks. I'm sure you've had some great experiences in that time, played some great games. Im sure you have family and friends or good health. and even if you have none of that you still have time. Measure your own success, in fact dont measure anything. enjoy life for what it is and if your unhappy change what you can control and learn to appreciate what you cant control. wishing you all the best Geddy, may you have all the successes and progression to come!

It makes the shiny hunt seem like a documentary. So fun to watch during my own hunts or Pokémon breeding phases. :)
Around the sixteen minute mark you showed a counter. And I had that exact counter back in middle school. I'm pretty sure I got it from a counselor to help me focus. I loved my counter so much but eventually it stopped clicking. I decided that to get a final bit of enjoyment from it, and to possibly fix it, that I'd dismantle it. I learned that the metal bit you press had gotten bent and after fixing it I attempted to put it back together but I could not. Anyways that counter meant so much to me and seeing it was a blast of nostalgia.
The sheer dedication to this hunt, I cant even imagine the amount of hype you felt when the costume came across the screen, and this was probably the biggest reaction i’ve seen in any of your videos! So congrats on the find Matt! Im looking forward to all the stuff you’re gonna put out for scarlet and violet and I cant wait to be hunting more shinies while binging all your videos again in a whole new region discovering all the new things with our nice community!

This video has been in my recommended for a couple months now and I gotta say, you have way more patience and perseverance than I’ll ever have. To do any shiny hunt in any pokemon game for literal years and obtain it definitely deserves props. I commend you, my guy.

Shiny hunts in these old gen console games are really fascinating, I've played Stadium 1 & 2, Colosseum, Gale of Darkness, and Battle Revolution when I was a kid and I wasn't even aware of most of these shiny hunting methods let alone the possibility of seeing opponents having shinies. You definitely have the patience and dedication for this hobby and I strongly respect that. Well done and great video.

This was an awsome Journey to watch! I became instantly facinated with these costumes after seeing this and will be going after the Roserade and Electivire costumes whenever I find the time. Although I dont see myself getting either one before Noa Kyogre or Grand Ginger, its still a cool target to go for! (also massive thanks for your in depth twitter thread detailing the perfect point remaches and who they do and dont work for)

Battle Revolution was one of my favorite games growing up. Pretty cool that there's still more secrets to be found. It's great to see this game being brought back into the spotlight. I love how this and the shadow meganium hunt videos you can see all the previous gauntlets and hunts from the years past in the background. It shows how long these individual hunts have taken that they have spanned across multiple hunts/gauntlets and its also like a trip down memory lane.

I remember hearing about these costumes in the strategy guide as a kid, always assuming that they were fairly common. Insane they put this full odds hunt in the game and insane people are finally finding them.
