I bought Z71 4wd four months ago. I have put over 5000 miles on it. I love it! It is everything advertised and more. I have put it through its paces on city, off road and highway driving and it excelled in all facets. I could talk for hours about how all of the features go together to make this a dream truck, but if it offers what you want, it will deliver and you don't have to listen to me. Chevy hit it out of the ballpark with this vehicle!

I just bought the same truck....2017, extra cab. Z71...so far with 1100 miles on it, no hiccups. My last truck, was the little 2004 Ford Ranger FX4....bought that one new way back then. Any way...I am enjoying this midsize truck so much right now. Getting an average of 20mpg. I am not an expert on this truck either, but damn. The looks I get with it make me feel like I made a good decision for my new truck. Nice video sir!
Jay F I had a 98 close. 5speed rwd. Such a fun truck. The Colorado and canyon feel like its successor more than the new ranger appears. I'll probably end up with a 2017 z71 or canyon all terrain myself. But in the new blue color with black badges. Mhmm

I got this and I’m happy! The LT’s in my opinion are no match for these bad boys!
GMC is more of a classic design but more upmarket. Chrome, boxier, and of course the Denali package.
Praise Kek i test drove both the Denali package and all terrain as well as a lt colorado. The all terrain I think has a nicer interior than the Denali and it’s a lot cheaper. The gmc has a noticeably nicer interior than the Chevy. It may not seem like it on the videos but the steering wheel, interior trim and pieces as well as the dash are different and nicer. I think the fit & finish on the gmc is nicer and it’s not much more than the Chevy
@@SplittingHUNTER had the GMC Acadia all terrain (one model under the Denali) .
Our 2017 Colorado Chevy has the exact same interior as the Acadia at way higher price (grossly I may add)

Not sure about the difference between GMC & Chevrolet but I once heard that GMC has a heavy duty suspension system for payload, I have a 2016 taco but now in my 60’s what a bit more comfortable ride so my next truck is the one you’re reviewing!
I live in MD I own the Colorado 6 banger 4x4 Z71... it's awesome it has a tow package that handles my rv with a tow capacity of 7000lbs my RV is at 5000lbs and I do have a swaybar.

2017 Colorado Z71 Review, my experience. Severe vibration within a year of owning brand new truck, torque converter replaced, continued slipping after replacement, brought back to dealership, claim that cannot find anything, image that. Also, what sounds like a fan on start up, making noise, claim that can't find anything. GOOD LUCK!
Lindner is where I'm looking to go to. They seem to have good prices there for southwest Colorado.

I just bought an 18' Colorado Z71 4x4 Crew Cab short bed and love it. My business partner has a 16' Silverado Z71 4x4 Crew Cab short bed and I was comparing the two last week. The top of the tailgate on the Silverado is only a 1/2" taller than my Colorado. Seat height difference is about the same, but the hood height on the Silverado is quite a bit more primarily because of the way the nose slopes on the Colorado. From the drivers seat you have the same vantage point and my Colorado feels more rigid which could be the difference in age/mileage nevertheless, it feels tighter. The turning radius on the Colorado is excellent and feels like it could turn inside the radius of his truck. We haven't done any acceleration tests between the two, but my Colorado definitely feels quicker and the road tests reviews I have read tell the same. After driving my truck my business partner liked it enough to consider replacing his truck with one at some point. The Colorado is amazingly tight, rattle free and whisper quiet at highway speeds. I am averaging 3 to 4 mpg better than him in mixed driving. The only two things I dislike about my truck is the way the power seat works. There is no tilt function for the seat cushion other than the little bit you feel when raising/lowering and moving forward and backwards. The worst problem is the way the left side of the seat cuts into your thigh and butt when you enter and exit the truck because of the tall plastic panel on the side of the seat. I am getting step rails installed this week so hopefully that will resolve that problem. The Colorado is nearly a full size truck and just as awkward to get in and out of. The biggest differences between the two trucks is width and rear seat room so the Silverado wins there, but at 6'1" and 200 lbs my back seat is still fairly comfortable.
The new Ranger will have to be one hell of a truck in order to compete with the Colorado / Canyon. After driving a few Tacoma's I crossed them off the list early on.
I test drove a Z71 today and was pleasantly surprised with the V6 eight speed combo. Much better then the tacoma which is a hot mess with that 3.5 six speed. I agree it seemed well put together and liked the head unit and the bose stereo was pretty nice. Its frustrating the dealers never have the duramax. Why such a shortage? The one thing I did not like was the seats. Better then the tacoma for sure. But compared to the Ranger not even close. I owned a ranger overseas and it looks to be the same. If the new ecoboost is as good as they say I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a ranger. If I do buy a Colorado I will get the full leather. The cloth with leather inserts looks tacky and something out of the 70's. Pretty narrow as well. Just did not like the seats. And that was the real deal killer for me on the tacoma with those horrid seats on the floor with your legs sticking straight out. Ranger seats make you feel like a king. And apparently the American version will have 8 way power seats. The cloth material is much higher grade as well. You really don't need the leather with the Ranger. XLT should be good enough for most. And you can even get those seats on the XL with the STX package.
Hows it holding up now? Any tranny issues?
Back in the day, 1980's, GMC = heveier duty everthing.
Frame was thicker, Brakes where way ahead of standard.

Gmc trucks sell less than a chevy so o guess people equate that to being more exquisite even though they may come off the same assembly line.

Just picked up a ‘18 Colorado Z71 Midnight edition a few hrs ago. I wanted a Canyon but the Chevys had much better discounts. I wanted the GMC because I like the styling much more. The Chevy looks too much like a traverse or minivan on the front, I honestly hate their look. The Canyon look more pleasing and similar to its big brother. Both trucks have the ultra annoying swoop from the side view that doesn’t fit the rest of the styling and looks horrible imo. All gripes aside I do like most everything else about it though.
And you bought it, Why?

I hear ya, but the GMC to me is seems to be more of a logo on the Trucks. I'm sure theres some differences, but they look just about the same. So I guess just the GMC logo means you paid more for your truck. I thought the status symbol was buying a Cadillac for the General Motors people.
From what I understand GMC is the luxuary versions. Basicly you are paying for higher quailty materials, or a fancy tailgate in case of the new Sierra.
Colorado has major transmission problems. Do your research!

I leased a 2017 Colorado,I can not comprehend GM making an almost perfect vehicle only to put a transmission thats a known problem in it. With no fix possible.
Just want to help those who would consider this vehicle to not have to go through a nightmare.
