    1. Nelson Mandela wrote in his autobiography, “Ethiopia always has a special place in my imagination and the prospect of visiting Ethiopia attracted me more strongly than a trip to France, England, and America combined. I felt I would be visiting my own genesis, unearthing the roots of what made me an African.”

But this was long ago and Ethiopia trained and supported Mandela, so of course he had a very special interest to the country. If he was still alive now, he would have been disappointed on what the country turned into.

I've said it before: Kenya 🇰🇪 and Ethiopia 🇪🇹 are sister countries and the definition of good neighbours. In an extremely volatile region, these two countries have never had geopolitical tensions or gone war. Ethiopia even sheltered Kenyan freedom fighters from the British during colonial times. The only place where Kenyans and Ethiopians are in direct competition is on the running track.

Nairobi and Addis Ababa compliment each other so well. They are both beautiful safe cities that attract tourists and international organizations. The world's greatest marathoners actually come from Kenya and Ethiopia and these two countries can definitely take the sports culture in Africa to to greater levels. East African countries are very organized and seem to work well with each other for the common good. South Africa has already set the standards but If west Africa can learn from east Africa the continent will outshine Europe and America ten years from now. Instead of suffering in the west, the African diaspora should think about returning to Africa and in my opinion the best east African countries to move to are Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Kenya is also a dual-citizenship country where one can hold more than one citizenship and this is an added advantage for us Kenyans in the diaspora. In my view, it is quite unfair on the part of the Ethiopian government to revoke Ethiopian nationals of their citizenship when they acquire foreign citizenships but, I believe that change is on the way for Ethiopians as the country continues to open up to foreigners and foreign investors.

Today the world has become a global village where it shouldn't really matter how many nationalities one acquires. We Kenyans once thought by allowing dual citizenship it would make it easy for an individual to loot and move all the wealth to other foreign countries but that was just a narrow way of thinking. Today, those Kenyans in the diaspora with dual citizenship do a lot of investments in Kenya without fear of being treated unfairly since they still retain their Kenyan citizenship. @@rediettadesse2828

I'm always hearing about how poor the internet connectivity is in Ethiopia, but on the other hand I also hear about the great people and the beautiful culture the country has. In my personal research, it also seems like Nairobi has alot to offer as well....and that it's more of a "modern" feel than A.A........I love this video and thank you for your comparison of these two cities. This will make my choice that much harder I'm sure, but where ever I end up relocating, I think I'll just be happy being a permanent resident on African soil.

What you've raised is intriguing and perfectly addressed. In addition, Addis falls far behind Nairobi in terms of infrastructure (connectivity, technology, transportation, health, sanitation, and so on) and justice. Addis Ababa is well-known for its diverse cultural mix from many Ethiopian regions. Nairobi, on the other hand, has a cosmopolitan culture with a blend of Kenyan, African, European, and Asian. In terms of business, Addis is reliant on the government, whereas Nairobi relies on local & multinational companies. Nairobi has made significant improvements in terms of safety, but Addis has lagged safety behind by the Nobel Prize winner. In terms of tourism attractions, Nairobi is still a quarter mile ahead of Addis Ababa unlike the case 10,000m running event. Evenif I live in Addis with beautiful parks and hyper inflation, my recommendation goes to Nairobi. I will come to Nairobi were William Ruto, an African leader, leads.
