1. Nelson Mandela wrote in his autobiography, “Ethiopia always has a special place in my imagination and the prospect of visiting Ethiopia attracted me more strongly than a trip to France, England, and America combined. I felt I would be visiting my own genesis, unearthing the roots of what made me an African.”
But this was long ago and Ethiopia trained and supported Mandela, so of course he had a very special interest to the country. If he was still alive now, he would have been disappointed on what the country turned into.

I've said it before: Kenya 🇰🇪 and Ethiopia 🇪🇹 are sister countries and the definition of good neighbours. In an extremely volatile region, these two countries have never had geopolitical tensions or gone war. Ethiopia even sheltered Kenyan freedom fighters from the British during colonial times. The only place where Kenyans and Ethiopians are in direct competition is on the running track.
Nairobi and Addis Ababa compliment each other so well. They are both beautiful safe cities that attract tourists and international organizations. The world's greatest marathoners actually come from Kenya and Ethiopia and these two countries can definitely take the sports culture in Africa to to greater levels. East African countries are very organized and seem to work well with each other for the common good. South Africa has already set the standards but If west Africa can learn from east Africa the continent will outshine Europe and America ten years from now. Instead of suffering in the west, the African diaspora should think about returning to Africa and in my opinion the best east African countries to move to are Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Thanks alot PLAN B-BACK TO AFRICA. Your analysis and conclusion is so unbiased and accurate. If it was not for security and internet connectivity, the two cities would draw, I actually think Kenya and Ethiopia are one in many respects. We share the same tribes across the borders, we have the greatest marathoners, we have great cultural diversity and we have never fought one another. How I wish Ethiopia joins the East African Community.
Kenya is also a dual-citizenship country where one can hold more than one citizenship and this is an added advantage for us Kenyans in the diaspora. In my view, it is quite unfair on the part of the Ethiopian government to revoke Ethiopian nationals of their citizenship when they acquire foreign citizenships but, I believe that change is on the way for Ethiopians as the country continues to open up to foreigners and foreign investors.
Yeah that is true . However they give them a diaspora id card instead. I think they don’t want Ethiopian diaspora to be involved in domestic politics .
Today the world has become a global village where it shouldn't really matter how many nationalities one acquires. We Kenyans once thought by allowing dual citizenship it would make it easy for an individual to loot and move all the wealth to other foreign countries but that was just a narrow way of thinking. Today, those Kenyans in the diaspora with dual citizenship do a lot of investments in Kenya without fear of being treated unfairly since they still retain their Kenyan citizenship. @@rediettadesse2828
I'm an American citizen who has/is considering moving to Africa withing the next 5 years. Addis Ababa was at the top of my list followed by Nairobi and a few other countries behind those two. I'm always hearing about how poor the internet connectivity is in Ethiopia, but on the other hand I also hear about the great people and the beautiful culture the country has. In my personal research, it also seems like Nairobi has alot to offer as well....and that it's more of a "modern" feel than A.A........I love this video and thank you for your comparison of these two cities. This will make my choice that much harder I'm sure, but where ever I end up relocating, I think I'll just be happy being a permanent resident on African soil.
Yeah but Ethiopia is not bad but civil war in the problem in that country they are now having problem with Tigrenya and aroma at the other side,Ethiopia's northernmost region of Tigray is at the center of a civil conflict today.
From the moment you mentioned the term "genocidal war," I immediately understood that it would be difficult to have a truly unbiased and objective comparison on this subject.
I think Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and Kenya 🇰🇪 finding each other is the revolution East Africa needed. Kenya was more focused towards Tanzania 🇹🇿 and Uganda 🇺🇬, which is good and not in the North. But the opening of Northern corridor, by former President Uhuru and prime minister Abiy, connecting Kenya 🇰🇪 and Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is a game changer. I pray for peace and unity in Ethiopia, and God bless East Africa and Africa.

What you've raised is intriguing and perfectly addressed. In addition, Addis falls far behind Nairobi in terms of infrastructure (connectivity, technology, transportation, health, sanitation, and so on) and justice. Addis Ababa is well-known for its diverse cultural mix from many Ethiopian regions. Nairobi, on the other hand, has a cosmopolitan culture with a blend of Kenyan, African, European, and Asian. In terms of business, Addis is reliant on the government, whereas Nairobi relies on local & multinational companies. Nairobi has made significant improvements in terms of safety, but Addis has lagged safety behind by the Nobel Prize winner. In terms of tourism attractions, Nairobi is still a quarter mile ahead of Addis Ababa unlike the case 10,000m running event. Evenif I live in Addis with beautiful parks and hyper inflation, my recommendation goes to Nairobi. I will come to Nairobi were William Ruto, an African leader, leads.
I am Somali. I live in Hargeisa, Somaliland. I really liked how you compared the two countries, using 7 very valuable points that I will look at if I go to a country. Thank you. Also, I would like to congratulate you on the way you speak English. It's amazing.
First of all thank you for bringing comparison between the two countries. Anyhow since I am from Ethiopia and knew the conditions in Ethiopia right now there are more transformations in the country. The Ethiopian people are adjusting so many diverse issues within the country and that affects Addis Ababa too. currently, the cost of living is high, but the people are demanding that to change. In other side, Nairobi is well secured city in in Kenya at this time. overall, those two cities are going much better as time goes on!!

I worked there 7 years ago. I had to bring cooking oil with me from Kenya. Good cooking oil is so expensive there. Internet was also a big problem those days. Otherwise, the ladies, the nightlife etc in Addis are good
@@paulmunene9271 thanks a bunch!
How about the cost of living, security aspects and their attitude towards foreigners
As a citizen of the USA, this was a very educational video. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏽
I really love your videos is very comprehensive and straight to the point I love the additive claps. And you look pretty your background was picked well good job
You've earned yourself a new subscriber. Welcome to Kenya 😊
This is soo beautiful. And your recognition of Prof Wangari Maathai is quite impressive.
I am Kenyan, I love Ethiopia and her beautiful and well-mannered ladies ❤️❤️
Beautiful Ahmaric lady.....U r doing a great job in a respectable manner.....I'm a Kenyan .....Welcome to Nairobi(the Green city in the sun)
좋은 영상 공유해 주셔서 감사합니다.
The comparison is quite honest and balanced. Iam 🇰🇪 and having lived in both countries, I agree with you 💯. This should be the number 1️⃣ info video on trip advisor.
Thank you for this enlightening video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your content; you ‘re incredibly well spoken and you analyzed like an astute college professor who is keen on educating. Thank you 🙏
Very educational! I love the politeness of Ethiopians.. I ve made life friendships from workmates to restaurant owners. One actually gave me an Amharic name. 😅 food.. Ethiopia beats us Kenyans hand down… there is pros and cons for both but the likeness are more than differences.. with love.
Yeah ..right ? 🤩 Ethiopians are so polite and calm
We Ethiopians are killing each other and are always at war. If we don’t love one another what makes you think we are friendly people? We are just good at faking it!
@@semiragualraya1041 sometimes unhealthy internal competitions cause things like those, but remember, you cannot read the label when you are inside the box
Thanks for the info, my sister. I lived in Nairobi as a young refuge and loved it.
Love and respect Ethiopia 🇪🇹 ....🇰🇪
Lovely queen thank you for sharing another amazing video. I pray you find the peace and prosperity you seek in your new home.
Something lovely about you love; had to subscribe immediately! Also looking forward to more fun facts about Mumma Africa, 💕💗💗🌸🌸
Thanks for subscribing dear 🙏🏾
@@planB-BacktoAfrica much love sis’, 💕💗💗🙏🏽🙏🏽🫶🏽
We Kenyans approve these findings about Kenya, and We love you.Welcome to Nairobi n feel at home away from home.
I think you are fairly evaluated the two cities. I also agree with you. Thank you!
@@LibaaxTopG Yeah, I guess it's more to do with politics than anything else.
What's the big deal, they change thier identification. They can only have one identity I support it , you either choose to stay Ethiopian or not
Today the world has become a global village where it shouldn't really matter how many nationalities one acquires.
Thank you for your honest appraisal and comparison between these two areas. I learned a lot!
My admiration is due on how you ethically come up with criteria to evaluate life in both countries.
That was good evaluation. I am from Addis Ababa but want to visit Nairobi soon.
Nairobi is way way ahead.
Welcome to Kenya..Nairobi..the best place to be..yeah n free house from me..Karibu Kenya
Karibu Kenya,karibu Africa.
Nairobi is better
Salute sis for making this video. God spare life, I will visit both, but really looking forward to Addis Ababa.
From the moment you mentioned the term "genocidal war," I immediately understood that it would be difficult to have a truly unbiased and objective comparison on this subject.
As an Ethiopian, your evaluation have amazed me so much! Love Nairobi, it a city of excitement!
Because for a time Ethiopians believed they were"lost Europeans" ergo didn't wanna f with us (I'm Ugandan BTW).
@@wambokodavid7109 I know and it is sad 😢
@@pm3302 stop reading so much of colonial literature. Congo as the original home of Bantu was a wide range of colonial narratives. Kenya is multiethnic, and pre-colonial Kenya has communities that roomed freely in entire Eastern Africa.
I am so glad to have found your channel. Great intel. Nairobi has been on my list for the return even though I am West African. Thank you for this
The Love between Ethiopia and Kenya is beyond imagination.its clear to seen by the ethiopian names all over the city of Nairobi(Haile selase Av,haile maryam rd,adis ababa rd,menelik rd....the funny part is that, when you ask a kenya which is the best city btn the two 90% will say Addis and on the other hand if you ask Ethiopians 90% will say Nairobi.......I will say kenyans and Ethiopian are blood brother eg the oromo of both countries.
Rubbish you treat all black foreigners like trash
Great work Weni and I agree with your analysis
I had a great time in Ethiopia, the food was great, I drank too much Tej in Yod Abyssinia and passed out. My one problem was that as an African American, I did not blend-in in Ethiopia as I did in other East African countries like Uganda, so I was harassed a lot. I agree with all of your scores and your final conclusion, great video.
How were you harassed, can you go into more detail if don't mind.
@@cirka4497 my dad had $5000 cash and these guys at the airport took him to some room for questioning and at the end they took $500 claiming your money should be in the Ethiopian currency birr, at the Airport they could favor whites and normally harassed other black travelers. Addis Ababa is very behind much backward compared to Kampala and Nairobi. The level of education, language barriers as most of the citizens cannot speak English or any international language plus no modern culture there as they’re not welcoming people at all .
U was in ug?? That's my country brotha, I hope u enjoyed your stay.we are the most welcoming suckas around.visit again soon
@@wambokodavid7109 thank you 🙏 Uganda is the best African country when treating other Africans , so welcoming and civilized humans . I can’t wait to visit there again this December.

I enjoyed watching your video.
Your comparison between the tow cities is well done.i love Addis Ababa and the food.thank you for this informative video.
As long as Habesha women stay culturally loyal, beautiful, and AUTHENTIC FEMININ and resist westernization, I will forever sing my love and praises of Addis Ababa.
They are priceless gems as far as I am concerned and this is coming from a Nigerian married to an Ethiopian. Very decent, feminine, cultured, calm and well mannered women.
Injera is absolutely mind blowing ❤ I love it

I remember my Ethiopian friends at prep school in Kenya; they taught us the cultural shoulder jiving dance 💃🏾. Kenya & Ethiopia have always had a great relationship. We just need to learn to harbor lasting peace within our countries to allow people & businesses to thrive. If we can nail that, we’ll be developing by leaps & bounds. Love your channel, found you today & you’ve got a new follower 🤙🏾🙌🏾👊🏾
God bless you! Thanks for sharing wisdom!! I’m a fan!
I love Ethiopia, so many Ethiopians live in my neighbourhood, they have Sunday services at a nearby church, I love their singing.
Selma. Thank you sis. Good info. Coming to you from the states any and all info that you provide is worth its weight in gold. Thank you again.
I felt the loss and love you have for your homeland when you talked about the Ashenda festival. It sounds beautiful. May the Tigray Region have peace so we can visit and be part of it.

Loved this fair and unbiased review of both countries. It makes me think about more questions I should ask when I move to Africa. 😊

My two cities I plan to start in, thanks for posting this information.
Nairobi definitely. I’ve been there in 2014.
BTW I’m Ethiopian. I missed Nairobians, CBD, Karen , Uhuru park.
I’m feeling that I’m Kenyan.

It's definitely on my bucket list.
@@planB-BacktoAfrica we can't wait to have you, though you need to learn basic Portuguese because Angola is not an English-speaking country, so basic Portuguese will go a long way❤

I really like your comparison,in that I have learned something very important.big up from kenya
As an Ethiopian living in England,I found your comparison fair.I have a plan to visit Kenya in the near future.the property price is far too high
Great comparison here, I want to check them both out.
I hope all of Africa can overcome their conflicts.

Kenya and Ethiopia never had a beef with each other 😂❤
And they are our best neighbors unlike tanzanians who are always picking fights with us😂😂😂
Gorgeous Lady: I think you added Value on the information and tour you had at both Cities.... I wish you revisit Addis again and get a best video/picture shoots....seems Addis is getting Tourist Friendly as long as you choose where to go.... But almost all your points are valid... A few information needs may be more data and more perspectives, but generally it is nice... Please do go back to Addis and reflect...Thank you.
I love your energy. You seem so centered and unified, even when you talk about people starving.
I prefer Addis . No i prefer Nairobi . NO i prefer Addis. NO mhh🤔 I loveee both Cities .
Ethiopia 🤜❤🤛 Kenya brotherhood for life.
Absolutely loved your video .. I will definitely visit both places ..
I am Somali. I live in Hargeisa, Somaliland. I really liked how you compared the two countries, using 7 very valuable points that I will look at if I go to a country. Thank you. Also, I would like to congratulate you on the way you speak English. It's amazing.
You have the most beautiful voice I have ever listened to. You’re a goddess of a kind. I love the pace with which you speak.
You just got me in, subscribed.
Addis Ababa is amazing city.. I grow up in Addis Ababa particularly Bole area. I feel the weather and food are absolutely lovely…
