Last I known of, the official month for revealing the new system, what it is gong it be and do, was said to be March of 2025. As far as I know. But if everyone remembers, the Wii can play GameCube games natively also, and is noting like the GameCube. The Wii is so much more. SO MUCH MORE! O.O And that is what I expect from this new system. For it to be something far more, and total new than what the Switch is, wile still able to run Switch game as stated. I have two things I want to see form it. - One: For motion controller drift to be fixed. I have and played Skyward Sword for the Wii, and the remake of it for the Switch. And thought the game was improved on the Switch, the controller of the game was a BIG! downgrade. And was 100% due to the Switch missing any kind of auto position tracking or calibration such as the Wii has with the light bar. I'd say any new controller for the new system needs to have either some inside out tracking, either like the Wii Mote has, or like the Meta Quest Pro has. And yes, the Wii Mote was early inside out tracking, before VR headsets had anything like it. The controller tracked its position with an IR camera inside the front of the controller, that would see only bright things, such as the two lights on either end of the light bar. - Two: I would like to see the new Nintendo System have some form of VR, that is better than the attempt at VR with the Switch LABO VR headset. Trying to use a 720p screen in split screen to view BOTW in VR was not good. Would like them to have something like the new XREAL Air 2 Pro, attached to the new ROG ALLY X, using VR split screen via the two full 1080p displays in the XREAL Air 2 Pro. - Nintendo has been working on the new system for about the last 8 years. I have my doubts, all they are going to show us, with all that time to truly innovate something totally new, is some new upgraded Switch, as so many think we are going to get. Just saying. But we are going to find out soon enough, by the end of March of 2025, at the latest. Again, as far as I know.

I heard this on RUclips Sunbro. Sony is having a State of Play around the Tokyo game show later this month. A ps5 pro console being announced this month is very likely. Nintendo could be waiting until Sony announces their ps5 pro console first. Before revealing the switch 2.
Despite how unnecessary it sounds, I would totally love a PS5 Pro even if the PS5 is already powerful enough for a console, but I would enjoy a PS5-Pro only on one condition: if Xbox Series X also got a mid-gen revision too! I'd rather have double-or-nothing... And the worst part is that not only did Phil Spencer already deconfirm how likely a mid-gen XboxSeriesX is, but Microsoft Xbox is even more vulnerable than Sony PlayStation when it comes to deeming their new consoles as useless. The hardware presentation to draw people into the museum might be focused more toward enhanced backward compatibility for titles being upgraded to look and play like next-gen titles.

A price drop is probably key to Nintendo meeting its sales forecast for Switch. Switch sales have been declining steadily and this year as a more rapid pace. A Switch Lite at $149 could continue to sell for years. They could instead choose to do some aggressive bundles, maybe two pack in games and a 3 month subscription to NSO. Regardless, Nintendo can still make Switch an appealing Christmas gift this year even with Switch 2 being revealed.
November at earliest, still waiting for switch 1 games to come out and more beautiful footage of MP4, #1 concern. Switch 2 can wait a liiitle longer.. probably after Christmas. Early this year, or was it last year?, Nintendo had moved Switch 2's release window to early 2025 instead of late 2024. I thought it was odd since it misses the holiday season, but others thought it was a smart move for that reason. So it would make sense for the reveal to happen later than usual, meaning not in August or September, unless they decided to keep the reveal around a similar time as usual. Of course Nintendo could of always changed their mind about early 2025 release and move it back to late 2024, or worse late 2025.
The announcement will be in the first week of December. They are not going to want to sabotage the Black Friday sales they have the potential of getting. At this point, we know that the Switch hardware sales have taken a massive dive. They're not going to nuke them further by announcing this new console before Black Friday.

I hope they announce it soon. My switches have been collecting dust since the ps5 came out.

Early this year, or was it last year?, Nintendo had moved Switch 2's release window to early 2025 instead of late 2024. I thought it was odd since it misses the holiday season, but others thought it was a smart move for that reason.
So it would make sense for the reveal to happen later than usual, meaning not in August or September, unless they decided to keep the reveal around a similar time as usual.
Of course Nintendo could of always changed their mind about early 2025 release and move it back to late 2024, or worse late 2025.
The announcement will be in the first week of December. They are not going to want to sabotage the Black Friday sales they have the potential of getting. At this point, we know that the Switch hardware sales have taken a massive dive. They're not going to nuke them further by announcing this new console before Black Friday.
If Nintendo dropped the Switch price, they could probably take the top spot for all time most sold console away from the PS2.
