If the customer is happy with the cost it doesnt make any difference what the the rest of us think. My brother is a cabinet maker and im suprised sometimes at the sost of projects. A $46,000 dollar countertop in that house with all the extras doesn't suprise me. Beautiful job.

Charlie is looking great. Yes - the upgrade was well worth it. The craftsmanship that went into your countertop is far superior to what you took off and will last longer. Absolutely love the vanities. Obviously your client can afford what you did. Stay safe.
i freaking love all of these pieces, they're beautiful! walnut is always one of my favourite wood types, these pieces (especially the vanities) really displayed it nicely
Outstanding job!!! Thanks for showing the entire project from start to finish. You and your team make complicated jobs look easy. On a personal note, thanks for correctly pronouncing the word humbling (the "H" is silent). Keep up the good work!!!
Another superb production & installation of what I consider Living Art by Black Forest Wood Co., all your pieces that I’ve seen so far are definitely worth every penny in my opinion.
Hi 👋, Black Forest, another amazing project, well done lads, that is one beautiful Lakeside property, I/we look 👀 forward to seeing more amazing projects, stay safe, Phil from the moulin,
oh Dillion sweetie! this is so cool! Congratulations on being chosen for the new series! i hope it gets picked up for the PBS CREATE CHANNEL! SO AWESOME! SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS! GOD BLESS AND KEEP ON CREATING BEAUTIFUL WORKS OF ART! YOU ALL INSPIRE ME TOO!
Thank you so much Dottie! I don't think they know 100% which network it will air on yet, but we'll definitely post something when we find out when and where it's airing!
Really nice work!!! Can't say enough about how good your craftsmanship is. You can't control what will happen with a counter top. The old veneer tops could easily be nicked or gouged and they don't patch well. Solid is the only way to go. It will develop some character over the years but that will only add to it's beauty. I can visualize the beer bottle sliding down counter top now!!
if i had such a beautiful countertop i think i would be terrified to use it for fear of damaging it! all the pieces are absolutely gorgeous also i have to say i love a little Charlie cameo
I completely disagree with comments talking about the "inferior" craftsmanship of the old countertop. The old countertop was likely done at a fraction of the cost of the new one, and the use of inferior materials actually makes the finished look of the product even more difficult to achieve. I totally understand the desire to upgrade, but I am still quite impressed with what the previous guy was able to achieve with the materials he used
Absolutely stunning! What are those bolts at 5:04 called? Where is this client located in Canada, or at least what general region? The landscape is amazing.
I love the work that you guys do. If I could stand the cold winters I’d love to apply for a job with BFW. Keep up the good work and oh yeah I did catch a boo boo. You said no plywood was used yet it plainly shows it in the video…oops.
Awesome quality. Good job. Now for a serious question. I want what issues do you get when bring your finished projects over the U.S. border? I plan to bring a Red Cedar bar top up my cabin in Nova Scotia .
First, you guys did an amazing job as expected 👍. As far as the cost, obviously the client has all the money, and when you have all the money, spend it how you will. Hopefully they earned the money and have every right to whatever with it. My only criticism, the walls in the bathrooms where the 2 tops when ... what the heck were they think'n 🤯
It's well worth the money. If you have a house like that, you want the best in woodwork. I wasn't keen on the tiles in the first bathroom, but that's just a matter of personal taste.
It does look great, but what about wood movement? At least with the veneer you don't have to worry about expansion or contraction. How much will this counter top move?
Tite bond 3 is Foodsafe and tite bond 2 is not, so 3 is the correct one to use on a kitchen counter anyway. I know it’s not a cutting board but you have a good reason there to use 3. It’s not overkill
Something is worth as much as someone is willing to pay ... to me the price is nuts, but I'm not the customer, as long as they are happy that's all that matters ... have a look at prices of art (paintings) if you want truly obscene prices!! I care about the skill and craftsmanship which goes into a project ... this is, as usual, of the highest standard and is absolutely stunning 👍
Was it worth it? Thats a pretty loaded question. Beautiful work on the countertop it looks fantastic in that house. Its amazing to me what some people are able to afford, good for them!
I really like how the wood looked in the kitchen. I liked the vanity. I did not like how that wallpaper looked. That was just plain ugly. The vanity looked out of place. It just didn't match. Even with the counter top in the kitchen, It kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. Please tell me they are going to repaint the walls. The wood they chose is absolutely beautiful. I just hope they can hire a interior decorator. to get everything to match up. It was great seeing Charlie. Question: Do any of the products you used on these countertops okay to apply to a cutting board or charcuterie board? Thanks for another great video.
I do say it's ugly. That is my opinion. I didn't stutter, I didn't put my hand over my mouth. I say the wallpaper is ugly. You haven't offered anything to change my mind. @@michaelmaas5544
I think "worth it" is really subjective. To me? absolutely not. For the client and your business? Absolutely. Lots of people like to hate and say you're way overcharging, but forgetting about the cost of those slabs alone, and the great team you guys have, among many other reasons. I keep hearing from other woodworkers that, "nobody appreciates custom work anymore," well this is proof that this isn't true. The truth is that most people just don't have the extra money anymore to spend on custom work, and you really need to stand out in today's market. Make yourself different; exceptional.
The price probably sounds high to a lot of people because you can get the "same" items made from lesser materials and construction techniques for a much lower price. And if that's the market you are used to the higher price can be unreal, seem unreasonable and basically be upsetting. On the other hand it's worth it.
Yea! Was looking to see if I had an upload notification which I didn’t did a wee search n here we are 😊 Iv a question do you design and create pieces for your own personal use ? X
onca again a beatiful build, but as mentioned bevor,i would highly suggest you guys to work on how you look when installing the funirture packages, currently you look very amateur unfortunatly. i dont want to hate on you guys it's just a feedback for you to improve, Greetings from switzerland, keep up the good work!
Amazing home. I mean, over-the-top as over-the-top gets, but amazing home. I'm going to assume the money for the replacement countertop was nothing to them. That said, there was nothing wrong with the existing countertop. It looked nice and seemed stable. You guys appeared to do a great job, but I hope you guys took the old one back to your shop. What a waste if it just got thrown out.
Veneer IS real wood - not suitable for a bar countertop or bathroom vanity, but don't go saying that it isn't real wood. One of the problems I have with woodworking on RUclips is people that don't have a clue how to use veneer and where to use it.
Your work is so amazing, As an old retired carpenter, contractor, developer who apprenticed at 15 back in the 60's I really admire you young guy's talents and skills and going to the next level of craftsmanship. The only drawback I see in your videos is your father is so out of place with you young heroes, tell him to retire
I’d just do the core in pine and the outer 3/4” in walnut and you’d never know the difference. But, if you have the coin, I understand why people do it.
Why does the voice over sound muffled compared to what the camera picks up ? Compared to the Joe Manganiello table video there is a big difference. Not criticizing just wondering what happened ? 😊
@@BlackForestWoodCo Natural echo from surroundings is probably more acceptable than heavy filtering by some programs. I use headphones to listen to your videos, maybe the effect is different if you use speakers. 👍😊
You always sound like you're apologizing for using Titebond III. But honestly, is there ever a time you wouldn't use Titebond III? After all, if it's the best, it's the best, and that's what we want for our customers.
It's just technically overkill a lot of the time we use it but yeah, we have the same thought process about it! It's better to overdo it than to have future issues!
If I would be willing to spend that much on a countertop, I would have asked you guys to make me some decent cabinets for under the top. men those excisting cabinets are ugly! like office cabinets. great countertop do!
Was it as thick and long as this countertop is? Those are the main reasons for the cost of this counter being more. Finding a thick slab of high-quality walnut that wasn't warped, that was also long enough for the countertop makes a huge cost difference
You know whats just as good as a Walnut countertop? A fake wallnut countertop. Not worth that price... the original would have servered the same purpose.
Yeah.. Living in the USA.. where everything.. is super overpriced..and the quality of life kinda sux.. In My country i'll buy a full builded house made of bricks with those money.. and still have some change to spend.
