That was great. We saw the strike, love it!! I rate my reels by the sound of the drag. I prefer a "throaty" drag. I think you want a louder drag. I kept yelling," Lighten your drag".
What river is this you're fishing on? I live in east Tennessee and have just purchased a kayak and would love to try this out. I've caught musky in Ontario Canada but never around here. I know there are some in Melton Hill but not aware of anywhere else. Thank you.
I have nothing but RESPECT for these guys. They all caught nice fish and LET THEM GO. Catch and Release MUSKY and PIKE. I caught and released a 53 inch Musky Myself, and many other smaller ones. Do not Kill these Fish. Great for the food chain and keeping and ecosystem regulated

Nice fish guys, I use a low cost on sale Pelican Argo.! Just under 10’ so I don’t have to register it. So far I’ve got a 42” pike and 43” Hybrid Tiger Muskie using it. Both with the same 8#mono, rod, real and lure. I love being pulled around as they tire out. Can’t wait to get a 50+” on my same combo!
@@aftonm693 well until there is a law, which there is not, I’m gonna keep doing it because our Minnesota law is only one permitted 54” or larger. Walleye laws are lame here as well. Pretty much taking the fun outa fishing as much as possible. Not like when i was a kid here in the late 1970,s to early 1980,s. I’m not tossing a heavy lure with heavy line and rig all day with no results anymore all wore out & exhausted. Been tossing for Muskie over 40years that way. It’s like beating your head against a wall all day. They tire out quickly no mater what rig or line you use. That’s why I let my medium open face FiNor drag do the work for me nowadays, last 8 years. I Haven’t killed one yet.
Was the hollering while you were paddling towards him because he had already netted the fish? If so that's impressive that he whooped a 50 before you could even get over there.

Take look at Ascend fs128t very stable and paddle great I owned one and loved it bought a Nucanoe frontier 12 and honestly the 128 paddled so much better but Nucanoe has little more stability and options are unmatched. Bass Pro shops sell the 128T you can pick one up used for around 500 they are great yaks.

No teeth, but they reach lengths like Musky, only twice the weight. Hard work in a kayak..... Also sub'd your channel. Great stuff.

Joseph Harrick Fishing have a wilderness systems ride 115 but one creek we go to is gnarly with rip rap rock and steep! u have to carry over head to get in and out. My ride weighs a ton i need a better creek boat bro lol
Its not good to handle musky for as long as the guy with the first one did. You really fuck musky up when you catch them. Unless you are putting it on the wall try to get it up, take a quick pick and get id back quick.
