Dear Connie, your videos are so very relaxing. Though I don't have a brain injury, I do have a rare nervous system disorder called " reflex sympathetic disorder syndrome". Basically the nervous system is flipped so it is always agitated or on alert. I do my best to try & stay calm. I don't really have much support as I live alone as well as having a mostly dysfunctional family. I am so glad I found your channel a few years ago. Your slow soothing way is just what I need which is why I subscribe to your channel as well as some other slow living channels in addition to nature ones, rewilding, natural living, spiritual, etc. Thank your for sharing your journey & lifestyle & for being the lovely spiritually minded woman that you are. In grateful appreciation, Liliane
Hi Liliane, I'm sorry to hear of your disorder, that must be very exhausting. Thank you for your kind words of support. I'm so glad my content resonates with you and brings peace to your day. happiness & peace my friend💗
I’m 65, and have had a minimalist, capsule wardrobe for several years. I choose neutral, timeless pieces which I wear over and over again until they are worn out or I find I’m no longer wearing them. Last week, my seven year-old granddaughter told me she knew what my favorite colors are…white, grey and black. It made me laugh.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO….and NO JEANS! Looks like all beautiful natural materials-linens /cottons (I would add cashmere and wool for winters where I live)….no polyester-I have too much of that and going to be phasing out polyester out of my wardrobe
I'm a minimalist myself, fan of The Minimalists and of your channel as well. You're doing great work in showing especially women a simpler and centered way of living.
Connie you always look great. I also think it’s not just the clothes that do this, it’s your peace and calm manner that adds beauty. Happy travels. Enjoy ❤
Your style is beautiful. I’d love to see more examples of actual outfits for a mix of trickier occasions (like theatre). All your videos are beautiful but I really enjoy your wardrobe ones. I love your balance of enjoying the aesthetics of clothing while also being minimal. Xx
I live in a very rural area with almost no clothing shops in a 140 mile area. I usually wear casual and garden clothes so I have a "just in case" mini wardrobe for a special weekend or fancier event. I keep these very classic so they last for years. Thank goodness my weight stays fairly stable, but I also keep this mini wardrobe a looser silhouette.
Hi Connie, when I was young, I had few clothes, but I was content. When I grew up, I wanted to be as chic and stylish as others. But I didn't have any style yet and I didn't like constantly trying things on in stores. Around 2000, buying online became popular on the Internet. I was overwhelmed of the possibilities. So I've accumulated a lot over the last 20 years, but I wasn't really satisfied. Since watching your channel and another slow fashion channel, I no longer have the desire to buy new clothes. I love and I am happy with all the clothes I own. I've sorted out what I don't like. I mix and match eveving as needed and use Pinterest for insparation. This saves me a lot of time that I would otherwise spend searching for new clothes, shoes or bags. In general, 90% of my clothes are second hand, which I bought in very good condition. Thank you very much for your inspiration. Now I feel like the young one, happy and content. ❤😊 Warm greetings
What an absolutely beautiful video thank you. You really let me see personal style in a new way. And that it really must be "personal" style. Style that works for each individual in order to feel so suited to the person, so comfortable and yet envigorating. Also, I think your own personal style rocks. 😊
Oh my goodness……I absolutely love this video and your approach to style. I’ve been lost (style wise) these last several years and your clothes resonated with me so well. Wish I had found you sooner. Blessings ❤
I love a capsule wardrobe, linens are easy to steam/iron so they don't look wrinkled and scruffy...makes you look like your put together and that you've taken care of the clothes and yourself.
I wish I could wear white. Lifegoals! Idk if I will ever feel like an adult until I can keep a white shirt or pants clean. But I have 2 smal children, 2 dogs and 4 cats. So maybe 20 years from now when im 50 and both my kids are adults?
I m 28 nd I don't wear white bottoms bcoz everytime I wear white pants, it gets dirty nd I have to clean it😢 i don't like cleaning much ..so i avoid white bottoms..with t shirts, it's easy to clean nd gets less dirty than pants
I ❤ your style, I also love your color pallet but corals and pinks always seem to be the color most people compliment me when I wear. I think I’ll start with the capsule wardrobe.
Hi Connie, you always look marvelous! I decided after watching your video I was going to turn all the hangers around in my closet to see what I actually wear. I live in Oregon and Summers can be very hot and winters can be very cold with all our rain. I am wondering how you decided on your short hair. I seem to go back and forth with short and long hair.
I went short about 15 years ago when my hair was thinning. Since, I stopped coloring and shampooing my hair is thicker than it's ever been. But, I like the short hair style, so I kept it.
Really enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing your life & philosophies with all of us. My husband and I are starting to think ahead to retirement, and the possibility of selling our home/belongings (seriously paring down), and hitting the road in an RV. I am a "fashionista" who has MANY shoes/boots/clothes/accessories...so that will be one of the biggest challenges with paring down, but I'm definitely prepared to do it! I'll keep some of my favorites, and then gift/sell/donate the remaining items. I think it will be freeing, although definitely challenging. Stories like yours certainly inspire me/us. ❤
Thanks for being such a practical, eloquently dexterous helper Connie 😇. ..... Phil is looking forward to both Connie & Joel minimising 'The White House'- should be one hell of a garage sale! 👏🤸♂️🌈
You always look so nice and fresh with your wardrobe, I have lost weight And the flab has taken over in my upper arms, I have to give up my sleeveless Shirts, and go with quarter length shirts, also as I was going through my closet I came up with more dressy clothes than basics, so I have to rethink my plan, Because I don’t dress up anymore.❤
Me too! My bicep tore and my rotator cuff is mush from a fall, so no repairs at my age of 66. I have lots ideas saved on Pinterest but don’t have anything like them. I am going through my t shirts today and rest of my things as well. Don’t have a lot so will be fun. Might be naked lol by end of it!
Hi Connie, what a great video, I've been in exactly that process of putting together a capsule wardrobe. I can say I have it, but I no longer like most of the clothes I own, or I just don't wear them often. I'm thinking and in the process of researching moving from Florida to another state, which will probably be very cold where we're going, so I have to wait a little longer before creating a new capsule wardrobe and trying it out. To define my style, I dress super informally between casual and a little hippie, a casual style, I like everything simple similar to how you dress, but yes I wear a lot of leggings and jeans, I want to buy some cloth pants. Is there a place you recommend buying clothes online that are of better quality, preferably cotton, hypoallergenic fabrics? Thanks! 😊 🤗
I agree that all your clothes mix well together. You could add a printed piece if it had all your colors in it, like a flashy Hawaiian shirt, pants, etc. You're you, and I'm me, and that's ok.
I cannot understand colorless. I adore color! Some colors look better on my wall than on me but nature is a riot of every exquisite color! I cannot live in a black and white home. I do not live in a drab world.
Who has quality clothing? I'm so weary of the cheap clothing that loses its shape after only a few months. I'm truly in the market for quality. I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Bless you!
I have a suggestion, although it may not be practical for your own life. Living on a smallish, fixed income, doesn’t let me buy the quality of things I would like to. So…I do the best I can with less expensive clothes. I am retired, so I don’t need a work wardrobe, have no pets, no grandchildren, and I live a very casual life in a rural, small town. In caring for my clothes I wash everything in cold water, on the delicate setting. I rarely use my clothes dryer except for sheets and towels. I have 2 folding drying racks that I use. My clothing either gets hung up, put on the racks, or in the case of sweaters, laid flat. I treat stains instantly with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and Dawn dish detergent. I wear a lot of white tops….button ups, long and short sleeve tees, gauzy boho style pull over blouses. Periodically I will add baking soda or vinegar to the wash cycle to brighten them up. It takes a little more effort to do my laundry but I don’t mind. I can and do get several seasons wear out of my inexpensive clothing. I rarely even wash my jeans…I will refresh them with a fabric spray, or air them on the porch. Obviously if they get dirty or truly smelly I will launder them, but I have probably 10-12 pr so it’s not like I’m wearing the same pr every day. I love the Downey wrinkle release for touching up, ad I have a steamer. If you have a much busier life than mine, I recognize that what I do may not be possible for you, time wise. I just wanted to offer you a real person example of how you can make inexpensive clothes last longer.
Hi Christine! I have found that shopping at a "higher end" store at the end of a season is a great way to get good quality clothing at 1/2 the cost. Another, trick is to shop at outlet stores vs main stores (Banana Republic Outlet vs Banana Republic). Also, any clothing companies that sell outdoor/travel clothes (Lands End, Columbia, etc) for clothing that hold their shape and last for years.
Style means kibbe, your colors and identity essence. Not everyone shines in muted colors nor functional classic stuff. Thats the problem with this casual wardrobe trend. I die without variety and colors. Style is expression and costs. Its not just one white blouse or a bio cotton shirt. Fitted, competent, mood based, different locations need different things
You look very sophisticated even in your casual clothing. Less is more. So effortless, timeless, ..
I agree!!!
You look so effortlessly elegant in everything you wear, even the most casual items!
So true! But I feel most confident in my summer and mild weather clothes, I really struggle with winter outfits.

I like solid colors too, but I stain my tops so often. You have a beautiful style. This video helped me.

I also can't seem to handle so much as pastels, so white is certainly out. I always end up yellowing it in the wash anyway. 😕
Would you post a list of your favorite books to read please? I am very interested in what you are reading. Thank you.

I like Zara and Banana Republic for pants. But, I have found some great cotton pants online by googling "wide leg cotton pants for women".
