it isn´t for the wind direction. It´s an indicator for the forces on your airplane if you use enough rudder

This is one of the coolest flying videos I have ever seen! So wonderful!
I took a glider flight and it was really bumpy. I paid for a half hour but we stayed up for about an hour because my pilot said the conditions were awesome. This ride looks a lot more smooth.
Sounds like you hit some turbulent winds, it probably helped the glider stay in the air longer

It's a thermal it's how all glider pilots gain altitude once there in the air

@@Jdkejdnfjef Incorrect. Thermals are just hot air moving upwards. Mountains can be thermals, but mountains can provide lift without the use of thermal air.

I love it!. It first glance it seems to be easier, but the more you go through I think it's like an art of knowing the wind and mountains... another thing is that the lack of engines seems to make the landing rougher.

For people wondering why he circles the Area at around 4:34 , He as crazy upwinds there and tries to get as much altitude out of them as he can. Even more at about 6:50 .

Coming from an ASTIR CS, I am completely stunned by how silent the asg29 ist inside the canopy
like... it almost makes me nervous, as if something isn't right XD
The micro of the DJI Osmo Action cam is not perfect, but the ASG29 is not so loud either.
I agree about the silence, but I'm more impressed about how responsive are the ailerons at high speed.
Pussy stay on ground like me. lol

@@monkeydgarp6394 in my country the licence costs 4500€ at least and it will take you 200 hours of training if I remember correctly. The pulling is 60 € and then it's 40 for the first hour, 20 € the second 10€ the third and free for the rest of the time. Or something like that ... So it's not cheap but neither so expensive
@@filippochizzola7296 Oh my, are you in Luxembourg also and you saw the news that youngest glider pilot just got his license at the age of 14 (where in most countries it is too young even for driving license) and you searched for the club and you are amazed that it takes only 4500€, just like I DID?

I was wondering the same thing. I was never rich enough to have time enough. Somehow, I got my flying time but almost never away from my home glider port. I'm just glad I purchased an older high performance, complex glider, Diamant-18, back in 1982 that takes me cross country often in the Rocky Mountains, USA. It has never disappointed me. It keeps me aloft, takes me far, and never tries to kill me even when I make a mistake. One man rigging since 1984 has been wonderful.
