Site of the 1968 Winter Olympics. I was 12 and had just started skiing. Jean-Claude Killy was a big star. He’s still alive I see. 80 years old, I towed behind an 80 yr old tow pilot. He came and got me out of a duster strip, so no wing runner. He gave me just what I needed, no tug at all prior a gentile but firm sudden pull. So I didn’t hit any runway lights. I’m hoping to get another gentile but firm pull from another octogenarian in 2025. I think he has it in him. Thanks for the beautiful views Stefan.

Its super easy and relatively cheap to get! Its also international. In the US most sailplaning is thermals, but in the alps its all ridge lift. . . which is different and loads of fun!
Thanks Stefan for your great videos! I restarted flying sailplanes after 40 year hiatus, thanks to you, and flew local competitions on Condor during the winter. Next month, I will be flying my first (dual) competition at my gliding club.
When I was a kid in my native country, it was very hot 40-50°C most days with no wind. If I look up, I'd see hundreds of eagles / kites in groups of 20+ gliding round and round all day in specific but changing spots in the horizon. Didn't know what they were doing until I got bored one day and looked at them for a couple hours. They'd start close to the ground going round for 20-30 minutes, gaining altitude until they got so high that they'd look like a dot in the sky. Then they all break formation and split out in every direction, still gliding. I learned later they do this to get a wider view of the ground, searching for prey with their sharp eyesight. So I decided one day to test their eyesight. Got raw meat cut into small 2" pieces and threw it in the air (maybe ½ kg total) while the eagles were probably a few kilometers up. They seen it from up there, switched to dive mode, and in less than ½ a minute, theres about 50 eagles doing high-G maneuvers to grab the meat. Your video reminded me of it. Very cool, I like it. 👍👍👍
Maybe it was a way for them to cool down if it was so hot there too, cooler air mass up higher. It would take a bit of energy though having to hold the wings out stiff though you'd think but the adrenalin it would produce would override the fatigue. Less oxygen too. I wonder how long they can stay up there
It's amazing the life that you can have in some countries. Does not looks like the same world that we all live. Far from Violence, Corruption, Social Media Wars... At least that's the image that I have seeing this video. AMAZING!!!!!
Some countries? France has a far worse socialist dictatorship than the US and far higher cost of living and taxes. All of this glorious glider flying you can get in the Rockies or Sierra Nevada in the US if you want it...but the pizza might not be as good.
Beautiful footage. Gliding is so rare to see these days with powered flying being so readily accessible. There is something about the simplicity of gliding that's just beautiful.
I'm definitely getting a glider license... Also : I just LOVE the canopy design, it's the closest thing to flying "open" in the sky if you catch my drift...
Deine Videos immer so wunderbar schön. Ich bin nur ein Modellflug Segelflieger auch schön, aber die großartige Freiheit in einem manntragendem Glider blieb mir bis jetzt untersagt.

Wow !!! What a fantastic video. The journey must have been absolutely amazing from your point of view. A lot of the scenery was the most amazing I have ever seen, and probably never will in my lifetime. I used to enjoy gliding as a hobby in Cyprus, and North Rhine-Westphalia in my younger days (30+ years ago). Thanks for sharing your videos Stephan 👍😊
Keep in mind a glider like that is like over half a million to buy new. It's not your typical "I've seen one of these at a local airport" glider. It's high performance and extremely costly.
You guys are amazing, heartiest congratulations on your invention, thanks for showing spectacular bird eye view. Wish i could fly too like you all.Hopefully some day. High regards and respect Riyaz

Thank you for this video! There are some decent places to glide here in the USA.. But, this is absolutely breathtaking! I can almost feel that variometer sound! ;)
To this day, I still love to follow your flight video clips. because it still reminds me of my desire to learn and even have equipment for paragliding. The environment I live in is mountainous terrain which allows for that. God, how I want It
i don't know why, but as someone who has never flown outside of a taking commercial flight I find it endlessly amusing that you just fly by some paragliders and waved... like "hello sky person. i too am a sky person as you can see. have a good one!" as if that is just a normal human interaction. what an amazing experience

Thank you for not using horizon stabilization in this video. It made the ride (the watch, haha) more fun :D RUclips pilots have been using horizon stabilization too much over the last couple years.
Hi Stefan, thanks for sharing this beautiful flight so close to the mountains. Needs to be very careful with the paragliders enjoying their flight with eagles !

Greetings from Sweden. I wonder how much of planning and reconization you do before a flight like this. Have you got landing spots for all of the flight or is by feeling?
Who is playing flute in the back of the plane?
That's called a variometer a measuring device that beeps while we gain or lose altitude. The more height we gain or lose the more frequent beeps
And when you hear it, you do not need to watch the instrument. That is a big deal for safety, you can watch outside far better.
It’s the climb and descent fairy
Some people wouldn't understand a good joke even if they got slapped around the face with it, good one dude lol, made me laugh 😂😂😂
The “flute” hums when your in the negative and beeps when your positive (climb rate). I still don’t know who that person playing the flute is
Stunning.
