  • For the past year, I've been training to become the first person to break 60 pull-ups in 60 seconds. On September 14th, 2018, I did it with 61. Let's see how much farther the record can be pushed! I'm excited to be taking another crack at it on December 8th, 2018 at FIBO USA in Orlando: www.fibo-usa.com/home/

      The trick is touching the gd ground. He stopped the continuous record the second he did that and how they can continue is beyond me. This is a worthless video and he accomplished a lot of work, with no real record. Entirely worthless and shame on them for presenting this falsehood.

    • @professor.pullups
      @professor.pullups  4 года назад +3

      GWR has the same rulers for everyone, so it’s a fair game. Most top competitors use wide grip for shorter range and more reps. But the flexibility and strength required for a wide grip is surprisingly hard. That’s why most beginners (including myself when first learning pull-ups) start with a narrow grip. Whether one hangs properly is a separate issue, independent of wide or narrow grip. GWR requires only that elbows straighten. Full release of tension in the lats is a different type of hang and good to train with sometimes.

    • @professor.pullups
      @professor.pullups  4 года назад +1

      A well-known definition of pull-ups, for purposes of many competitions, and military tests, is chin over, elbows straight at bottom, no break at the waist, take whatever grip-width you like. Those are the GWR rules, which is what I display in this video. So long as you have the same rules for everyone, you see who's the strongest. Fair and square. To learn more about the full ranges of pulling motion, and different grips, check my other videos, which include everything from chin-over pull-ups to muscle-ups. Also, why do you assume that what you don't call a "pull-up" is stupid, rather than simply another kind of exercise?
