Every time I hear this song I picture Marty McFly riding his skateboard, hitching a ride behind a car, on his way to school from Doc Brown's house. Memories!!!! :)

I'm sure other children of the 80's out there can probably relate to this sensation. As a child hearing this voice on the radio, at school assemblies, in the grocery store, in the dentist office waiting room, etc. it kind of became what is for me the "voice of the 80's." Hearing Huey Lewis is instant nostalgia, but back then without RUclips or the internet in general, I never actually saw them except rarely in snippets on TV, and then it was just music videos. So to hear that voice coming out of an actual person live, is kinda surreal. Huey Lewis man, dude was a pro.
I listened to rap alot and one day I got hired for security in a grocery store I heard this song and many more from the 80s Rick springfield,Eddie, etc I just loved the vibe
35 years ago I was shooting pool in my favorite hardwood floor bar and I was having a good night running the table, then she walked in and I immediately scratched the cue ball lol, Huey and the power of love came on the Juk, our eyes caught a glance,, by midnight we were slow dancing to Clapton and Wonderful Tonight, 30 years later and we haven't spent more than 1 night apart.
Fucking amazing live band. You walked out thinking how great they sound. Brilliant musicians, performers and must of had great sound engineer/ mixers. Top, Top Band..
Brings back great memories. Recorded that song in my recording studio in '85. It was for the sound track for Back to the Future. Wonderful group to work with, great guys on and off the stage. Spielberg loved the "Sports" album we did prior to this so asked them to write and record some songs for the movie. One of those songs you KNOW is going to work first time, although it was written by committee, of the band and a friend of band who was a song writer. They were members of my studio softball team, which played others in the entertainment league around San Francisco mid 80s.
Stan Jacox thanks for sharing this Stan. You should be proud for being part of such an iconic 80's song (and not only)and a part of musical history through The plant studios.
Huey stands up as a great vocalist humble guy great frontman and performer and songwriter. Long after other so called "legends" are forgotten, humans will be singing along with his songs.
I always thought Huey Lewis had one of the coolest badass voices of all time. And I was the lead singer for over 20 years, played all over Canada, never sounded as cool as him
My respect for Huey & TN grew a ton when I found out that his road to fame wasn't an easy one. He wasn't a young kid either. It was all about hard work and true quality. This live performance of a classic proves how good these guys were
Wow... this man can truly sing! I've heard lots of recordings, but this is the first live performance I have seen of him. Hearing "singers" like Jason Derulo try (and fail) to sing live, then hearing someone like this... sure makes me nostalgic. Good stuff.
We must forever credit Huey for creating the ultimate mass transit system... no money, fame, or credit cards needed, just love. 😉 In all seriousness, I *love* this and it's sad that his hearing loss prevents him from touring.

Such performances have gained value over the decades, I blame autotuning! So nice to listen to live show imperfections!!
Back when singers where actually live performers and not studio singers and live lip-syncers.
A genuinely humble guy to step back and let other members of the band have the spotlight. Mad respect, Huey. ✊
Proper band etiquette

The power of love is a curious thing
Make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
More than a feeling, that's the power of love
Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream
Make a bad one good, make a wrong one right
Power of love will keep you home at night
You don't need money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
That's the power of love
That's the power of love
First time you feel it, it might make you sad
Next time you feel it, it might make you mad
But do be glad baby when you've found
That's the power makes the world go 'round
And it don't take money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden, it can be cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
They say that all in love is fair
Yeah, but you don't care
But you know what to do (to do)
When it gets hold of you
And with a little help from above
You feel the power of love
You feel the power of love
Can you feel it
Mmm-hmmm
It don't take money and it don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel
You won't feel nothin' till you feel
You feel the power
Just feel the power of love
That's the power
That's the power of love
You feel the power of love
You feel the power of love
Feel the power of love
