Everyone is rightfully freaking out about this episode, and it is truly a culmination of everything we have all learned since the show’s introduction. However, what brings me so much joy is that you’re both driven to this amazing gear by the joy of gigging (after a very long time of no live playing), i.e., the basis of all our time spent on this channel. You guys remind me the simple joy of being a gigging guitarist (and a loud one at that) every week. Cheers

What a way to go out on hiatus.
This was the pinnacle of the TPS journey so far.
Each of you built a rig that played to his strengths and tastes, covered immense ground and provided every type of sound the gig needed.
All the concepts that have been discussed over the last few years - applied to perfection (and in a very different, personal way for each of you) to get you where you need to be.
From now on, if I have to explain TPS to a friend and why so many people love it so much, all I have to do is point to this episode.

    - Paul Davids has done a great video on the ‘Message in a Bottle’ harmony of anyone wants to learn it
    - Mick, your gainy tones on that strat are insane
    - That massive 12 string gains are giving my wallet palpitations. Not sure i’d ever get opportunity to make those noises in my context but wow!
    - HRM is now on the need to buy list
    - Dan’s soundscaping is majestic
    - Need to revisit my chorus options, I think I’m being too heavy handed with it
    - I need a gold top! Not sure if humbuggies, P90s or even Filtertrons but I need a mahogany single cut in gold!

Bravo to you both! Everything is so transparent and usable regardless of gain structure. You have both outdone yourselves. That Lux hitting that Page is 1 of the best things I have ever heard! You are both completely frightening! Wow. Just unbelievable accomplishment and focus here. My head and heart are spinning. I thank you so much for sharing this. You boys have scary guests, but your 2 are still my favorite! What an epic episode among life changing episodes.

Hey Dan & Mick, just wanted to say that back in 2015 I decided to switch instruments from a high level piano background to electric guitar. I literally had no idea how to use amps, pedals, or gear of any kind. Admittedly, it was a little overwhelming. At some point though, I found your show and after watching a few episodes it taught me how to actually be a guitarist, dial in usable sounds, eq amplifiers and many other things, not to mention an overall sense and passion for what playing and hearing electric guitar is all about. Thanks!!

Upfront: D&M - Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge and time (editing videos, research, planning, executing all stuff TPS store, shop, experience days, guests, vLogs, etc. and so on). It mean so much to me (and IMHO guitarists everywhere) that you are choosing to give in this way. Dan I love your musical musings; always impressed by the depth of your knowledge and the thoughfullness that goes in to your sonic approach. Mick I am following you down the amp rabbit hole ... Mesa Boogie California Tweed; 2Rock CRS (mine is 50 watt .. i love this amp .. wowsie!); working on a stereo power (likely fayetteville) amp with Kingsley preamps loving the Juggler ... keeping my 55 fender tweed deluxe 😄. Cheers!

Hello Boys, I just had to say that you don’t know how happy it makes me to hear the amplifier humming and making noise in the beginning of this video. Usually, I don’t notice it in RUclips videos and then when I turn my own amp on, I am disappointment. You have excellent equipment and your Amp still hums. God bless it.

That neck pickup on Mick's gold top Less Paul is something else. It's such a great balance of warmth and articulation. I've always struggled with neck positions on humbucker guitars. They're either too wooly and dark, or too hot to work with my gain stages setup for my single coils.
Dan's nods as his pads come together are so much fun. I love it when Dan gets ambient and spacey. You can see how much fun he's having.
Enjoy your vacation guys. We appreciate you!

Watching and listening you talk about sound design, is like listening to a fine chef or sommelier talk about flavours. This for me is one of the best episodes you’ve ever done, and it showcases your knowledge in ways that continue to surprise me. It’s the culmination of years of experience. One thing for me that stood out is the ability to send effects to specific amps depending where they will sound the best and fit best in the mix. I’ll be watching this one a few times more. Well done!
