- AEW Dynamite last night was quite eventful. It was the pentultimate show before double or nothing 2024 which is shaping up to be a pretty big PPV for the company but I think they just made a pretty risky decision that I’m seeing them face a fair bit of cricitism for doing. And a lot of other stuff happened stuff so like the video and welcome back to another weekly AEW Dynamite recap, lets get into the show.

The whole “Elite” v “AEW” is way too rushed …
There’s no real anticipation for it ..
It's WCW vs nwo all over again except without the larger than life big name stars
i think its just about justifiable considering how they took out tony khan, i think that single event somewhat is a means which justifies the ends
worst part is the rest of AEW roster seem to just do their matches as if there's nothing happened. its like the elite doesn't bother them at all. If they don't care, why should we either. NWO was huge because the whole roster is constantly getting attacked by them
Ricky starks has to be WWE bound after elite grudge booking...
He is a real star which 99% of the mud show gymnasts there are not
Appreciate Darbys passion for wrestling and all but bruh, that spot could have been perfect for someone like Ricky Starks. It's a bad look on TK, that he is even allowing him to compete when he's clearly not even 100%.
Allin is more of an AEW representative than Ricky Starks, unfair comparison.
Khan is mad at Starks for supporting Cody so he’s taking it out on him and keeping him out

When you think of an AEW staple Darby Allin comes to mind.All online discourse about Ricky Starks is that he's unhappy and might leave. Swerve was met with similar booking decisions and he's the champ because he became undeniable.
the only is thing I can imagine being worse is Vince Russo showing up it was me Tony it was me all along 😂

It's kinda sad that the nicest thing someone can say about a Jericho angle now is that it's "surprisingly tolerable".
EDIT: I am so glad that Willow seems to have really become the face of the company's women's division. Someone talented, likable, and worth rooting for, at long last.
As soon as Jericho takes a break he will be over as usual again. The how can I miss you if you won't go away thing.

Jeff Cobb is part of the United Empire faction which was created by Osprey and Fletcher is still part of it while also being part of the Don Callis Family. That’s bascially the reason why hes there

i quit watching the show earlier this year, and i feel when i hear the reviews/updates on the show i'm not missing to much.
Same. Honbestly, I think I'm also going to cut out the reviews and updates as well and just leave AEW behind. They can put on some amazing matches there with the stacked talent the promotion has, but at the end of the day, they don't make any of it actually matter to the viewer. Nothing to really get invested in.
U can back and watch what the Elite doing.

I got nothing against Darby Allin but he should not be in this match. It feels like it should be The Elite vs Blackpool Combat Club meaning Claudio Castagonli, Wheeler Yuta, and/or Jon Moxley should be apart of it instead of Darby Allin and FTR, but Yuta is injured and Moxley is doing his own thing but Claudio isn't. He needs to be in the match instead and Darby Allin should be climbing Mt Everest.
darby will probably get a spot that will write him off again to go train t climb.

@@satyammysterio4911 there's only 4 members of The Elite, it would be better if they still had Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page vs FTR, two members of BCC, Eddie Kingston and someone else besides Darby Allin who should be in his own match.
@@RomaroBrandon yeah but it shouldn’t be just 2 groups who face the elite but people who are good guys in aew and represent it to show that it’s not a simple elite vs 1/2 groups war but that everyone hates the Elite

I wouldnt mind them putting the title on Ospreay, but instead of unifying it with the World title against Swerve, I would prefer them to build to a match between Ospreay and Okada to unify the Continental and International titles into a singular "Intercontinental" title.
And if the next show after this is Forbidden Door, I cant think of a more "Tony Khan" type match to book for Forbidden Door than Ospreay vs Okada in AEW.

Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion but I genuinely have no Idea how anyone can say that Mox is good, he doesn’t seem legit, he’s very sloppy inring, doesn’t sell anything and bleeds in every second match.. am I missing something?

That's pretty much how I view Moxley too, I liked him when he was Dean Ambrose but the guys basically become a parody of himself at this point.
Is your brain rotten? Hes great in the ring and great on the mic.
Mox promos come off as outstanding in AEW, but that's because everyone else is far below average. His in ring work is awful though, a lot of unnecessary movements, sloppy footwork, terrible looking punches and strikes, barely believable selling. Basically the exact opposite of someone like Darby Allin.
Bringing Darby back now is risky big time.

i think we all do, but let's be honest by saying tony loves the money and the easy schedule. i honestly couldn't see him going anywhere else. he'll retire nicely in aew.

They could easily write Darby out by the EVPs asking Jay White to take him out again...since it was speculated that Tony paid him off to cripple him and prevent the Everest excursion.

@@skylarzaccheus3984 I know that AEW has its own internal problems, but I feel like the main problem is the media apparatus that surrounds wrestling in general. It's all ex-wrester/bookers looking to make some of that sweet Cornette buck. And what gets engagement? Bashing AEW. And so many wrestling fans' minds are easily assuaged by a lot of bad faith comments (from people who even admit they barely watch it).
I could only imagine some underated wrestler in place of Darby. But still pretty good return
Honestly since Punk was fired/ allowed to leave, AEW has become totally pointless.
Darby is aawesome, and AEW through and through, but from a health perspective, Darby needs to take time off to properly heal. From a storyline perspective, why not have Jon Moxley team with Danielson or Claudio as they are both part of the BCC, and Moxley in particular is the AEW MVP.

And Moxley should take note of what's happening to AEW and go back to WWE as well. Same with Danielson. Even Jericho can do the same and maybe appear in the 2025 Royal Rumble or something before being inducted in the 2025 class of WWE's hall of fame if he's interested in doing so. Which if I were him I would.
Wouldn't be saying this if WWE sucked which it certainly did before last year or so, but at this point AEW is getting dangerously close to 2010 TNA Wrestling at this point.
This show had 5 brawls/beatdowns - so many angles had the same result
apparently fenix is injured again so he's out for awhile yet, but why not starks or someone else like you said...my guess they know darby would get a big pop from the crowd

WWE has more titles than AEW, so why is it a thing if AEW has 4 single titles?
Because those titles are spread over 3 separate rosters with their own divisions.

wwe seperate it title to different brand aew litterally combine all brand title.the problem the main aew title still has more than raw and smackdown title.you try to compare a split brand title with a one brand.like a roh even split from aew

AEW has 3 shows excluding ROH. WWE has 2 shows excluding NXT and WWE still has more titles. AEW doesn't have a split roster, but what does it matter? They still have 3 shows with less titles than WWE.
Was expecting John Moxley or Claudio to join Team AEW
My gripe about Allin's reveal as the 4th man is that they could have waited till Double or Nothing itself to do just that. The suspense over whether team AEW would even have someone to stand up to the heels (Team Elite in this case) would have been more enticing from a creative and business standpoint, so viewers will tune in to get their answer while speculating who it could be.
Mercedes Mone should be taking on Dr. Britt Baker. I think it would be a good match.
Also, the third member of FTR and the rest should have been maybe MJF. BUT maybe AEW is holding off his return til Adam Cole's return.
Darby should get his revenge on the Bullet Club instead of being involved in the 8 men tag team match
why don't they unify the continental title with the international title. Getting rid of the Continental title and making the winner of the C2 tournament get a shot at the AEW world title.
The brawls on the outside are in EVERY BCC match and is not entertaining in the slightest. Jericho is easily the most annoying wrestler in the company. From his booking to his behavior in and out of the ring, just go away.

Rey Fenix is injured or at least wasn´t cleard for a match against Penta in mexico. So I don´t knoe if he can wrestle for AEW

Is it me or does AEW seem to be injecting more effort into these angles? Cause for the longest time their angles always seemed to be Guy 1: "Hey you wanna fight?" Guy 2: "Them's fighting words!" This or it was picking up some 15 to 20 year old feud you needed to Google, or listen to Excalibur do his best speed reading of their history to figure out what was going on. Now it seems to be they're actually setting up the stories on TV. But honestly I'm out of the loop and depend on channels like this to catch me up. But it just seems to me the stories have more to them now.
They're learning and evolving. While I don't agree with every angle and storyline they're doing, it's at least putting in the effort of "Hey cmon back next week" instead of "Y-You're coming back next week, right?"

Yeah I don’t know why Darby is in this match, yes I know the Young Bucks beat him and Sting so Darby is gonna want revenge. But he’s not 100% this could’ve been a great opportunity for someone else
AEW just completely disregarded the ranking System and wins and losses meaning anything by making Mercedes Mone the #1 Contender for the TBS Championship when she hasn't wrestled a single match. Honestly hoping that Serena Deeb wins the AEW Women's World Championship. As a wrestler you're never 100%, if Darby Allin is medically cleared and he's good with being in Anarchy in the Arena then let Darby do his thing. Maybe could have done Switchblade Jay White but it appears as though we're getting Bullet Club Gold vs Death Triangle possibly at Double or Nothing.
I thought Derby was supposed to have broken his foot? Seems a little soon to come back from that particular kind of injury - I do like the irony though of using an injury angle to cover the cancellation of climbing expeditions on Everest after last years overcrowding on the mountain fiasco leading to many deaths….
they should have put Daniel Garcia in the anarchy match he has the connection to Danielson and FTR
Love Darby but here’s a list of guys that are healthy (for the most part) that could have taken the open spot on Team AEW; Ricky Starks, Penta, PAC, Fenix, Daniel Garcia, Samoa Joe, Shibata, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe
Pemta stepping in for Eddie would've made sense because its been established in the lore of the show that they're friends

Aew is just trying to be NJPW
NJPW does at least a decent job o making those titles matter using the factions they have at their disposal. AEW is doing an extremely poor job of trying to mimic what NJPW does, mostly because of Tony Khan. It is good thing that they have that many titles, given the fact that they just put their world title on someone like Moxley for whatever reason.

I haven't paid much attention to AEW since MJF left. And for good reason, most of these performers are nobodies. MJF was THE REASON to watch AEW. Really sucks he got injured and I hope he goes to WWE once he gets better.

Was a great show, but you had to focus on Darby and your opinion about he can fight or not. And that title designed to make the wwe fans who dont watch aew to click into the video and stsrt trowing shit on something supposedly they dont care on. I like Aew, i like the stories and the wrestlers, and i see how its constantly under attack all the time, its frustrating really, let aew be, nobody seems to hate wrestling more than wrestling fans

At this point, AEW itself is a big mistake. Unless there are massive changes, this promotion will not survive the next year's and TK will have wasted a lot of money on sub-par wrestlers and that's putting it kindly

Over the years i seem to have lost all interest in aew. I got bored of dark and stopped watching that after a year or so. Same with elevation and rampage. Collision I don't think I've watched since punk left and dynamite I just don't enjoy any more. I find myself doing other things then occasionally looking at the TV so I got a feeling dynamite won't be far behind being shows I give up on.
I think over the years I've come to realise everything bubba, bischoff, cornette, Nash etc say about aew is correct and I use to massively disagree with them.
