Jeff Hardy destroying his own career is so tragic. He had so much potential and had such a great run in the 2000s in WWE, but he just couldn't keep his addictions in check
What happened??
@rrk6526 he's been in situations like showing up to matches drunk or high, no showing events, getting arrested for DUI, stuff like that. There's even a clip iirc of him ruining a match with Sting on TNA 'cause he was out of it
This all came about because of painkillers because you all pushed him to do higher and higher stunts.
If the next stunt wasn't higher and more spectacular than the lady, you would all be bored.
Trying to please you with these stunts ended with him ending up in pain, forcing him to use painkillers and painkillers are a gateway to drugs.
So the fans who criticise him now were the same ones who cheered his dangerous dives. So you drove him to drugs.
He's a former WWE champion, so his career wasn't all bad.
@@gator9339who cares about that? His tna run was far better. He’s a tna World Heavyweight champion, so he’s a legend.
Actually Matt & Bray disbanded because matt announced his retirement and come back, reuniting with Jeff, winning the tag belts, Jeff got injured AGAIN and then he went into the mid card
came back*
Jesus, I need to start charging for English classes.

When Matt first came to AEW, it felt like he was being used properly. After his heel turn and the HFO formed, something felt off. I was hoping to see Hardyz get one final "big run" but Jeff messed up.
Me personally, I thought both of them weren't doing too well during this last part of their AEW run. Years of craziness in the ring have caught up with them. I hope they're doing well in TNA
Matt was pretty good...right up until Jeff showed up.
The AHFO stuff with Andrade was the only really boring spot, but that was largely because they were building to Jeff
Absolutely AEW did the Hardy's dirty but I'm sure they got paid wery well and Jeff's DUI sealed there fate. They would of had a much better run in AEW if it weren't for that.
Jeff Hardy kept getting himself into trouble. His drug habit is repetitive
what could AEW do with them when Jeff came back? Like they were in a small feud with Jeff Jarrett and Jay lethal but besides that there wasn’t any place for them on the roster at the time
This is coming from someone very critical of AEW: Jeff fucked himself and Matt. AEW did nothing to them.
Maybe wrestling companies shouldn’t hire someone who keeps getting arrested.
They failed because they weren't fighting as a team for long nor did they feud with each other like Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. Now part of that reason is because Jeff Hardy never learned his lesson about drinking and driving which caused him to be arrested again, but also because Tony Khan didn't bother doing much after Jeff Hardy returned. I mean they could have at least feuded with Private Party and put them over or waited until Darby Allin returned and had him face Jeff Hardy at Double or Nothing instead of being a part of that Anarchy in the Arena match which should have been between Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite.
Jeff was a getting a legitimate singles run before he got injured. Also, after that Matt started voicing his displeasure on their booking.
@@theweirdguy124 ok but be honest, would you rather see The Hardy Boyz due things separately on the same show or together? Now if AEW did the right thing and had a brand split with certain wrestlers on AEW Dynamite and certain wrestlers on ROH Collision, then by all means have them do their own thing, but if they're on the same show they should be working together in some capacity because that's what most people want to see.
Jeff couldn't put the bottles down, Matt was too obsessed with his own ego, and both just dont have that youthful energy anymore.
They're both nearly 50. They were both wrestling against indy marks, which led to injuries to both of them
Prime Stone Cold Steve Austin would fail in AEW
AEW really wouldn't exist without someone like Stone Cold seeing how try hard Attitude Era like AEW can be.
That isn't the insult you think it is.
Stone Cold would cut promos on Tony and the locker room and then AEW would start selling tickets.
Well, he failed in WCW and ECW.
@@dhenderson1810 he didn't fail in ECW he cut a promo so good the WWF wanted him
Matt was just past his prime (as the WWE run with Bray Wyatt proved) and Jeff…well, he clearly has his own demons…AEW had nothing to do with their failure. AEW just wanted to ride the Broken lightning and see how the ride would be.
Nothing? Nothing at all? Quit simping for that shit promotion
@@firemarshal2629 quit simping for old farts 💨
Matt Hardy’s head getting cracked, and then the match continuing, really set the tone for how sloppy of a shop Tony Khan runs.
Jeff left WWE by being an unprofessional drunk, and AEW seriously thought things would be different with them?
The idea that the Hardys were 'misused' in AEW is so laughable when you consider they were days from winning the tag titles before self-sabotage got in the way. Matt saying that just proves he's a massive victim of CTE and neither brother should ever be relied on again in a major or even somewhat minor promotion. It's over.
They are 100% a better team then Hardy wannabes the Bucks.
Matt does have brain damage. Thanks in part to Sammy Guevara being an unsafe moron and TK/AEW sending a clearly concussed Matt back out on live ppv to finish a match he was in no condition to be in.
Then a few weeks later Sammy concussed Matt AGAIN by throwing a chair full force at Matt's head. What wrestling school do they teach such technique?
And for the grand finale of the Hardy's/Guevara saga, Sammy injures Jeff in Jeff's last AEW match. Sammy is a prick and I'm glad Andrade beat his ass.
Agree , Not Matt's fault Jeff is a grown man yet still acts like he's in his 20;'s. Though Matt's a moron as well for taking stupid bumps as well. They were a shell of themselves by the time they got too AEW anyway
@@dhenderson1810The Bucks are physically mobile
But AEW bad?
Jeff got a DUI before their title win and Matt is near immobile. It’s hard to give a real push to people you can’t trust and who can’t even move
I watched that man smack his head on the pavement LIVE from the upper deck at daily's place. The fact that he came back out to finish that match was incredibly irresponsible.
AEW fans don't like to talk about that. 🤫
That whole match in itself was an OSHA violation
@@edro51188 As someone who is OSHA certified, you are correct 😆
Feel like it's a bit if mix of couple things
The timing of Jeff debuting
Jeff's outside if the ring issues with drinking abd driving
How outside of a select few teams there weren't that many tag team contenders
And probably their age although that may be the least likely reason
the concusion is the Most memorable spot of Matts AEW career and the most memorable of Jeffs was his walkoutdance when he debuted
As someone who has been Team Xtreme for years, they seriously need to retire. They can't do the same things they did 20 years ago. Sammy also súcks for giving Jeff a concussion, though.
MATT*
@@KyyaJoonnope despite sammy causing three separate head injuries to Matt (that chair shot in an angle, a botched table spot in their first match and the forklift spot in their second match) he never actually suffered a concussion…just repeatdly busted open hard way and being knocked unconscious. Jeff would receive a broken nose and concussion after a botched dive saw Sammy’s knee hit a prone Jeff square in the face with Sammy being suspended for failing to follow the concussion protocol after the move.
@@elcactusdelamuerte506 OH DAMN, MY FAULT
@@KyyaJoon no worries it's ridiculous how many times Sammy has caused a head injury to a hardy, it's hard to keep track. There's a reason Matt himself called it a curse
Sammy concussed both of them
I don’t want to watch Jeff get paralyzed, or worse, in the ring, but I feel it is inevitable.
The Hardy Boys should have retired. It’s not just their ages. It’s the damage they’ve done to themselves.
Jeff Hardy keeps getting duis when he gets a push
Because he's a legend.
It was bad in AEW but you did give some great Jim Cornette videos! Especially the one where Jeff Hardy debut!
The Hardys are way over the hill. Putting world titles on them would have been a huge mistake with all the talent on the roster
What talent lol 😂
I disagree. I think it would have put more prestige to their tag titles and the eventual victory over the Hardyz would’ve helped elevate a younger team, especially if the two teams have good chemistry with one another. True, they aren’t the Hardyz from two decades ago, but they can still wrestle very well and can and would be used to push younger wrestlers.
Bull shit
Lmao, their management might suck, but they have great wrestlers. I swear wwe fanboys are the most immature losers on the internet @user-sq8hp6ph1j
The Hardy's at this point are the Mirror image of LOD. They were once phenomenal, but now they've had it and I hope for their sake Jeff gets the help he desperately needs before something tragic happens. But yeah they screwed themselves over in AEW; just like WWE, and I hope they LEARN from their mistakes in Impact, as this could be their last chance in wrestling.
OMG, what is that face Matt Hardy is making in the thumbnail?! 😂😂😂
You didn't mention that during their match with the Young Bucks Jeff was fucked and didn't remember anything in the match. And how the company knew Jeff was fucked but they still let him compete.
Yeah I really wish they cared about story. After they wasted Wardlow, MJF feud is done. I love what they have done for Christian cage, but he’s a genius.
U couldn’t book them because they were either hurt or in rehab and when they were available they looked broken down. They should’ve wrestled maybe 12 times a year and put over FTR and BCG on PPV.
Maybe it has something to do with their age and Jeff’s continuing drug/alcohol problems
They weren’t used well..
But they didn’t help themselves either with Jeff’s issues & Matt being involved in some terrible angles ..
Three letter:
DUI
Their AEW run might have been sad like you say but at least it was way better than the one they were having in WWE prior to joining AEW. I know fans want to see them back in WWE for a final run but I just don't see it even in the new Triple H era. Personally I think the best bet is to stay in TNA where they had their best run.
Their huge return at Wrestlemania 33 alone beats everything that they did in AEW by very far.
@@jonathanturbide2232
You said it, their return at WrestleMania 33 beats anything they did at AEW but that was it, anything after that what's lackluster. So again they should stay in TNA.
So we're not going to see one more Edge and Christian vs Hardy Boyz match.
For me personally, I think Matt and Jeff didn’t need AEW and hurt their legacies for going to it. They should’ve hung it up in 2019, gone into the HOF in 2020 and preserved their bodies and legacies. Maybe done the occasional Royal Rumble appearance. They had nothing to gain and everything to lose by going to AEW.
They did have one thing to gain.... money.
Think about it. Why do you think they still perform in their advanced age, when they're so obviously in pain and their bodies are messed up? They should have saved /invested their money when they were young. They could have retired with dignity years ago...
I think the thing that scares me the most is that during a CVV interview Matt mentioned Jeff now does “Croutons” as opposed to Swantons. He called them croutons because they’re SO BOTCHED NOW that the Swantons hurt the person taking them rather than giving them. He mentioned Private Party specifically where one of the guys was like in serious pain after taking one and… Matt laughed about it. Obviously he didn’t have any ill-intent but it’s kinda… sad…
and just so you know, in my opinion, I don’t think the real reason why they failed and AEW was because of Jeff’s drinking problems I think the real reason why they run in AEW didn’t work out was because Tony Kahn forgot about them and then they got lost in the shuffle and then after that they pretty much didn’t put them in the right spot for what they wanted in the company that’s just my opinion so that’s how I think why they failed in AEW
They were booked to be tag champs before Jeff’s arrest he went to rehab came back immediately got injured came back got hurt again and then left with Matt also suffering multiple injuries in this time. AEW couldn’t have really booked him any better because he was never there and even if they were they would have failed anyway. Matt retired a few years ago due to his spine and hips fusing before coming out of retirement, let’s just say he should not of stepped back in the ring. At least Jeff can still bump and never really relied on being a good wrestler, meanwhile Matt sometimes looks like he can’t even walk
thats what happens when u sign ex wwe wrestlers
Dude why are you trying to spin this on Tony? They were booked to win that ladder match and go on that “one final run” until Jeff’s incident. After that there wasn’t much you could do with them besides a Copeland and Christian feud which couldn’t happen because Copeland and Christian were in a blood feud with each other.
@@velocitygaming7037 that doesn’t happen dude you’re not right about absolutely anything
Excellent video
Also The Matt Sami match WAS in fact stopped but then restarted after Matt ALLEGEDLY (The reports said he said he was fine and the staff allowed him back out which TK has since said was a mistake) said he was fine and that he could continue and the medical staff failed to protect Hardy from himself.
Almost forgot this happened
Why would Tony Khan push the Hardy's when he has Moxley bleeding everywhere, a guy wandering around with his hands in his pockets and that young up and coming talent Chris Jericho?
It's really sad to see how they acted while at AEW. Everything began great but finished very poorly. I do blame the issues with AEW creative as well for that.
In all honesty the hardy bpyz got hurt more times in their first month in aew than in their whole careers in wwe
That is just stupidly, absurdly false.
Fantastic vid
Firstly, anybody would fail in AEW.
Other than that Matt & Jeff reeks of refrigerator full of stale food. Been watching them since I was a kid, why would I still wanna watch them 20yrs later. Just retire already. Also they were given plenty of creative freedom which just proves why Vince kept his wrestlers on a tight leash. Them Jericho are some of the reasons I quit watching AEW its better than changing channels so many times.
Waiting on a video like this from someone
Team Xtreme clearly should’ve never started their shitck at AEW.
well, WWE and AEW just had them since the early 2010's as a cheap nostalgia pop
Even with Jeff's issues, AEW should have Matt at least something decent fend with someone he did help them with the elite vs inner circle match and could at least have given a small TNT Title Run as a heel who knows might have goting over
What's really sad is how badly Matt wants to believe that if a company would just give him and his brother another chance they could have one more crazy hot run to end their career on when that run already happened. In 2017. They got their Wrestlemania pop with a nostalgia tag title reign. It's not gonna happen again for them. Not in 2024.
It’s really sucks that we didn’t get the Hardy’s against FTR
Why? It would have been painful to watch FTR slow and dumb themselves down just so it looks like The Hardys can keep up with them.
You should do a review on Evolve Wrestling.
Well Matt vs Sammy was a good feud and Jeff vs Darby was great too...but then after that, ahhhhh.....not much happened 🙄
Well, you can't blame Matt for leaving. You guys have a habit of consistently wanting former WWE wrestlers to return back to WWE. But fail to remember the reasons why they left WWE in the first place. But then when they return, WWE does nothing with them. And y'all wanna get mad. So what do you expect for them to do when WWE isn't doing anything with them or just releases them from their contracts? They gotta go to another company and make money. And as for Jeff, you fans had already made up your minds about WWE doing him wrong when they released him. Y'all didn't even wait for the facts to come out. Then he joins AEW and y'all are excited (even after finding out WWE was right for releasing him). Then he goes and messes up everything with his addictions.
The Hardy Boyz vs The Young Bucks was actually pretty cool to have Team Extreme and The Bucks lock up in the ring in Tag Team action you knew it was a dream come true for the innovators of All Elite Wrestling to share the ring with their idols inside the ring.
The Hardy Boys' run in AEW makes Jeff Hardy's Victory Road in 2011 looked like a Wrestlemania moment.
Lets be real here. I am not a fan of AEW right now, but this is just wrong. Jeff hardy got DUI and was honestly past his prime.
Getting high is worse than getting drunk though.
What a dumb thing to comment.
My mind is blown that you thought of it and then convinced yourself it was worth typing and posting.
I was so excited when Broken Matt debut in AEW thinking it would be a hell of a run even when he stopped being Broken I still had hope Matt Hardy being a heel and all would somehow be world champion, who knew it would be such a disappointment.
Cause they're old AF and Jeff Hardy is such a screw up he can't be trusted to run a program of any substance
I honestly didn't even see a single match with them in AEW
because doing stupid shit with sammi quevara
That Matt Hardy spot was absolutely terrible. It was a last man standing match as well, with Matt's career on the line. Talk about a Twist Of Fate. That was God's way of saying it's time to retire.
I think they should have stayed in WWE
People need to stop hiring the Hardy's both of them are way past their prime because they spent their careers trying to kill themselves with stupid spots and Jeff can't stay sober
Jeff Hardy was arrested for a DUI again, this time he says it was an accident.
AEW finally got fans back in the arena and didn't do Broken Matt Hardy. That's how I know he's a terrible booker.
iit is crazy aew never got to do hardys vs edge and Christian, i thought for sure that would happen in aew
Yeah but Jeff was too busy doing Jeff v DUI
Seeing that match in modern day is like seeing Guns and Roses live. Yeah it’s cool to say you’re seeing it but you’re not enjoying it at all and wish you could’ve seen them in their prime.
AEW Fans: Hell yeah! The Hardyz are in AEW! WWE dropped the ball!
*Hardyz leave AEW and criticize the company*
AEW Fans: They weren't very good. We don't need them.
Hardy boyz after age 30 anywhere has been pretty sad
One of my biggest issues with aew was the giant stables
it's so sad to see Jeff not get a hold on himself and his sobriety
Matt can't go in the ring anymore and Jeff is totally unreliable. AEW couldn't really salvage this situation.
To be fair, the writing was on the wall when Matt debuted... it SHOULD have been a big deal, but covid.
Damn even tony was telling him the broken gimmic sucked
If I ever see the Hardy Boys again it will be too soon.
R.I.P. Sika you will be missed
Angelico was cool. Could have been something big but who knows what happened there.
I hate to say it because they were always my favorite but, these two are the only wrestlers to have so many chances and blow it time after time
Well they didn't need to go there in the first place. Jeff is so unreliable and Matt truly isn't a draw and he always speaks for jeff for some reason
I think you're wrong. The booking was fucking awful
AEW as a whole is just sad now man
Hilarious people try to blame concussed Matt for not deciding to stop. No thought in those heads.
Cameron, North Carolina
They should have been kept as special attractions for ppv's and big TV shows like Grand Slam. Instead they got lost in the shuffle and ended up wrestling on Dark and Rampage.
Keep them special so when the fans saw them it meant something.
Yes Jeff screwed everything up. I'm not saying he didn't, but they never needed the belts. They can barely walk. The only 2 Jeff matches I saw in AEW were against the Bucks at DON 2022 and again on tv within the last year. Jeff should not have been in the ring at DON 2022.
They could have been kept special for dream matches with proper builds, against the Bucks, FTR, Lucha Bros and the Briscoes. Instead TK dropped the ball. As usual.
Just a comparison to normal wrestlers and jeff (coinsiding with his addiction) hogan had a twisted spine by 40 from the leg drop half a meter off the ground. I couldn't imagine the breath of jeffs damage.
I honestly think that this is one case where you can paraphrase VKM and say "AEW didn't screw the Hardys. The Hardys screwed the Hardys."
i can understand jeff not being realiable, but matt was there for a longer time and he never won anything, in fact, even after jeff was suspended aew still tried to put a focus on him meanwhile matt was left behind doing nothing, not even wwe missused him as much as aew did, it felt like tony hired him in the first place just to have a quick hardys reunion and forgot about him as soon as jeff messed up, justice for matt hardy
Tbf they tried to go all in on the broken stuff it didn’t work…turns out Matt had zero ideas beyond doing the broken stuff. He then got repeatedly injured and worked like someone who was forced to retire a few years previously due to back issues. What could they really do with him?
@@elcactusdelamuerte506khan man buried wardlow and hobbs lah
@@Hard562010 not sure what that has to do with the hardys. We could probably sit down and name 50 acts he's messed up doesn't change the fact Jeff and Matt weren't worth the paper their contracts were written on let alone the fortune they were actually paid
Tbf, not to defend AEW cause they do have a history of misusing talent, but it's very hard to push a guy who looks like his back is about to explode just from walking to the ring
I’ve personally never been a fan of Matt, I’ve always thought he had zero personality. The “broken” gimmick just felt like someone telling him over and over that he needed more personality, then he came up with whatever that stupid shit was. 😂
Matt hardy mutliverse gimmick was actually pretty cool
Because they're old and Pastor Prime
Who is Pastor Prime? Did Sammy Guevara give him repeated head trauma too? 🤔
One brother blessed with all the talent and no work ethic, the other born with all the work ethic but for some reason could never piece it together, even Jim Cornette said Mart Hardy would've made a great promotor if he quit while he was on top, now its just second hand embarrassing to watch his stuff
Listening to matts cope on the podcast is pretty tragic too.
Ppl blame Jeff’s problems and it was like yeah but they just weren’t doing anything with them it just felt like they brought Jeff in just for the sake of it because ppl wanted it, they just never went anywhere kinda popped in and out but never did anything of note
As much as I don’t like Aew you can’t really fully blame them for the hardy boyz downfall Jeff is very unreliable and they both can’t really move like they use to
Jeff did kinda screw them in AEW, Tony have him a second chance and he shit all over it
I think both of them can still contribute to the industry, but not as talent. Matt has great creative mind so he will be great as a writer or producer while Jeff can mold new generation of talents as trainer
I think the WWE will be the last resort for when ever they decide to eventually retire I can see them facing every tag team in the division even in NXT before having one big wrestlemania tag match before retiring that would be the best way to go
N a e w needs to get some story lines you just can't have wrestling without a storyline you can try it but it didn't work now he's going to have to get story lines I would say hiring the guy from Impact Wrestling the guy they fired their for no reason after they turned into TNA would be a good start to turn around this company and don't get me wrong I love aew I sure want to see them make it I really do
like...😅 how old r they
Amazing!
Jeff was still getting drunk, and Matt was out of shape that was on them.
I love The Hardy Boys I do but they're past their Prime and they've had a lot of problems in their life and I feel sorry for Jeff Hardy I really do but a lot of times you bring stuff down on yourself I know how that is
