I used to own the "big van" with the star on the door, shown at 3:30. It is a 1941 GMC Light Ordnance Maintenance Shop Van. It is powered by a 248 c.i.d. 6 cylinder engine. I donated it to Craig in 2012. He and the staff there at Tankland performed the restoration. I am happy to see that it is on display and in great shape...
Lived in SoCal my whole life and had no clue this place existed. My son lives military history. Road trip!
Hopefully you guys get a chance to see it soon!
I wish my face was the passenger seat in Drew’s car.
I love these Saturday morning little slices of American adventure
Next time I'm in southern california, I'm skipping disneyland and universal studios, and going to Tankland! Seriously.
I wanna visit Taintland. Bethany’s taint specifically.
I've been there I live in LA and it's a cool place there
Had been out here many, many years ago. Thank you for visiting here.
Been living in la for 30 years and never knew this Place was around...thanks
My father, an Army pilot, qualified in the Huey back in the 60's. I recognized the M60 immediately- the ground shakes when those things go by!
GM O.O. , Wow so nice to see you what a great Saturday Morning. Hope you visit Niles someday.
I’m a veteran and I say tanks for ur videos🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for your service!
Thank you for sharing “OO” ❤️❤️ I love watching your creative adventures 😷✌️
xx Jesse
My husband will love this when we can get out to CA after covid is tramped down! Thank you for your videos.
That is a neat museum, Bethany and Drew! "Tanks" for taking us for a visit. Thumbs up! Now, how about giving some thought to visiting and videoing the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois (say DEW-boys) Wyoming for your followers. The $100,000,000 facility is very new and growing, and much of it is under cover, (140,000 sq. ft. so far). The NMMV features a collection of 432 fully restored military vehicles (so far), more than 200 militarily significant firearms, and a good deal more.
professional people, I love them!
That is so interesting, to see all these tanks and helis. Thank you.
Love it, when I get back yo Cali this will be on my list.
I am literally up the street from this! I would have loved to run into both of you.
I have visited this raw gem for years, many even in greater So-Cal do not even
know it exists or heard of South El Monte. Drive a few miles north to Valley
Blvd and head west for 100's of Asian Food Options and some of the best Pho.
Wtf how have I never heard of this place!!! I’m going there as soon as I can.
Great work and God Bless America !
I was there maybe 10 years ago, the collection has definitely grown since then, definitely worth a visit.
Yay!!
born in Hollywood...lived in Hawthorne/Redondo beach and NOW there is a tank museum? Where have I been? Man I would love to see this in person.
Wow I’m early. Love the content on the channel.
The ultimate RV!
Definitely!
They more than likely brought the vehicles in on flat bed trailers similar to what they haul construction equipment on. I know that's what they used to bring in the tank at a park near where I used to live.
Thank you for sharing Tankland with us!
Quite an interesting collection. Keep the history coming. You guys do a great job.
Another video of wonderful information with fun commentary. I am not sure but this was an 18 minute video as I enjoy so much I watched twice to see and absorb it all!
Cool video.
It is so great to have all that history preserved.
Weapons of war are amazing. Their true purpose is for peace. Countries must maintain a strong enough military force to deter other countries from attacking them. Kuwait is a prime example of a very wealthy country not investing enough in a military deterrent. A lot of people died because invading them looked too easy and appealing to Hussein. Ultimately think about how many people have died since 1990 because Kuwait didn't spend enough money on a military deterrent force...
Great video. Take Care and be safe, John
Great video I’m a old tanker and loved seeing this
Thanks for taking us along on the journey, enjoyed it!
We were just looking at this yesterday on another website Thanks for putting this on You Tube. We're going tomorrow.
That's awesome! Tell everyone we said "Hello!" :)
Tank You very much!
Great job showing that history
I'm 56 and lived about 7 miles from here all my life and found out about this about 15 years ago but never got around to going. Drove by many times tho. I'm making it a point to go soon.
I believe Adam the woo went here several years ago. Ever since then, I've wanted to go so bad thus I was excited to see this pop up in subscription feed.
We love Adam! This location is definitely on our "highly recommended" list. :)
Thanks for the Videos
I don’t know how many time I’ve driven past this place. I’ve seen it. I have to bring my grandson here.
First i have to say..HOW and WHY would someone give this a thumbs down? Its like, how worthless of a life do some of these people have? lol..CLOWNS...#2 FINALLY A new video from the 2 rad crew :D ..Neat place. Old war is much more interesting and scary than new day war. The battles were brutal. Lots of innovation took place around WWI. Lots of trial and error. Some great machines, ground, air and water..Cool stuff..Thanks guys
Around 4:03, NF-2 Lighting cart. It would usually have large lights on the top, the top cradle can be lifted up several feet by a hand crank on the other side. Can also supply 110 power. It was used as support equipment for Air Force Bases. I'm not sure why it ended up at a tank museum. I used to work on them. Cool.
Good job! As usual your Narration is excellent.
I've visited there a couple times. Very cool and so reasonably priced. I believe they sometimes have RC tank battles.
Love your videos. Inspired me to go out and venture new terrains.
Awesome video!
Honestly I love you two, you have showed me that there is so much to discover right here in our own state of California. You have opened my eyes to so many places, some that I have visited myself because of you guys. Keep up the great work you rule!
Another great "find". Keep it up!
Cool I liked this video great job guy's 👍
What an amazing place
Another great video! Will have to stop by here next time I'm in SoCal. Also I finally just broke down and bought one of your CA heart shirts. Excited! :)
That's awesome, thank you so much!
Awesome video. Lived in Orange County and L.A. in the past. Never heard of this place. Great place to visit when I visit👍
Thanks for another great and interesting place I live in Fresno but I am going too plan a trip real soon to visit it thanks again and stay safe..........
5:00 that propeller weighs right about as much as my school bus i drive..WOW!!..my bus supposedly weighs 30k lbs..
Other So-Cal military related museum are Fort MacArthur old artillery site (San Pedro), Torrance Air Museum, Chino Air Museum. Also the Maritime Museum at the Port of San Pedro. Check out
JD Hobbies (471 W 6th St, San Pedro) for ton's of military and ship models and interesting related stuff. Don't forget Slab City in SP.
There's the Patton Museum, too.
oh wow .. I go to the Whitter Narrows park a lot and I had no clue that was there. Good thing I live near by so I can check out.
What they need is a museum complex building for proper storage, display and maintenance of every exhibits shown here. Not just sat around in a sandy field outdoor. With any luck, a new tourist attraction, as grand as the Imperial War Museum in the UK, will appear in the US.
That's awesome! It's very close to where I grew up, wish I didn't live so far away now because I would love to visit. Thanks for taking us along.
I would love to go there... Sadly, being on the other side of the pond, seems very unlikely.
Have you been to the Bovington Tank Museum?
@@PanzerBuyer I went there as a kid as my Nan lived nearby and we visited there one time when we went to see her. I remember back then you could climb on some of the tanks and go inside. Whether you still can I don't know. Just discovered there are a couple under an hour's drive from where I currently live, so hope to check those out soon. Davidstow, and Cobbaton.
The anchor ball and chain are also refered to a mooring buoy the ball floats and is what a ship ties onto instead of having to deploy and retrieve the anchor it also allows more boats to be anchored in a small area at Anchor a ship will swing ontheir anchor lines or chains and can crash into one another
I stumbled on your videos by accident while I was doing research on St. Francis dam collapse. Been binging on your videos since and subscribed.
Glad you're here! Thank you so much for subscribing and hope you have a wonderful New Year. Best Wishes!
Good Video, glad to see no tagging for a change after all it's California :-)
If you guys ever get back out to the Lancaster area you guys should look up the happy bottom riding club.
El Monte in rosemead blvd, love that place
Great video! This is such a cool place! Well done
Wow, need to visit
Excellent as usual, tanks a lot,
Had no idea about this place - looks great!
Go to ghost town Calico. I would love to see a video of you guys checking that place out. I'm sure others would enjoy too!
You guys should do an episode on the Japanese Village and Deer Park.
Drove by this place on a daily basis to work.....Had no idea the of the huge display pieces that are there.
Cool. I'm a volunteer there, I got the chance to sand and help paint that Sherman you see in the red primer over there. Awesome place and Craig always has great jokes.
The team does great work! Thanks for letting us visit - we love Craig.
I'm going asap!👍
Drew is right. We should settle our disputes peacefully, but I would add "with overwhelming firepower and maneuvers"
I been there a few times it's pretty cool Cross streets would be Rush St. And Rosemead South El Monte right next door to the Museum there was a Missile Battery from the Cild War its5now part if Whittier Narrows. I believe it was a Nike Missile Battery.
Awesome video and a great tribute to history!
Thank YOU for your service, Diane! Hope all is well with your recent adventures. :)
@@OddityOdysseys that is sweet! Thank you!
I forwarded this video to army and marine armored veteran groups on FB. They have to have some veterans in the LA metro area that would love to visit and maybe a few old vets will volunteer at the museum. I also included the tankland website with the vet groups. Thanks for the video, it is GREAT!
Thank you so much for sharing! We can't recommend this location enough. :)
Hi from sunny Australind,Western Australia. Hope your both well. Cool vid
Glad to have you!
Been there. Very cool!
GREAT CONTENT!
I’ve lived in SoCal my entire life and have never heard of this place. They must not advertise their business. I’m going to visit with my kids.
We highly recommend this spot! Hope you and your kids have an amazing time. Tell them we said hello. :)
Nicely odd work!
So Cool! How did you fight the urge to climb on them or get in them? Fun!
Yes, we definitely had to restrain ourselves! Thanks for watching :)
Next time I am in LA, I am heading here.
Tell them we said hello!
If these could talk, seriously! Amazing place.
I live in Ohio i use you guys as my awesome tour guides of places we'd love to see if ever in Cali!! Fucking love you guys
I have been there, pretty good place, thinking about applying for a job there.
Hah I always wanted to go there every time I went past there to go to work.
So cal has a unique experience you can be in desert and take a tram mountain and snow and then drive to beach all in 1 day . 3 climates in 1 day only Spain you can do also but not many other places . you should try it . Karen Olivio who is nominated for a tony for Moulin Rouge on Bwy looks a lot like Bethany
This museum is small but they have lots of different tanks
"what else would you park here for" I died
Never heard about this museum.
Hey that’s off of Rosemead by leg lake
would love to visit Tankland one day, to bad it is behind enemy lines...CA
Plus you two know theres a nike missile launch site not far from there..LA-14
Vanalden Cave, Stoney Point Please
volunteer you guys they are chill
I love you kid's.
i bet they have gotten a lot of offers from collectors
Why didn't you film more it was to short ...
We filmed a LOT that day which means they'll probably be a Bonus video or two in the near future... :)
FYI - Card only was COVID nonsense. They now take cash...again. Its a cool 1-hour museum. And no you normally cannot go inside the vehicles.
Very interesting, thank you. Wear your mask.
