She is entitled and arrogant. You act like having become strong is virtuous on it's own... it's not. She decided at some point that she alone could decide who lives and who dies. That she alone knew what was best, what was right.... and she meted out the same brutality she railed against the masters for... but the masters actually valued their slaves (not in the right way but they valued them) while she uses them as a moralistic foil to explain why she alone can sit in a metal chair. She found her strength little by little. People get misled by the "I was born to rule the 7 Kingdoms" bit at the end but when she was born she was not expected to ever rule... Her brothers were the heirs. Not her. She would have been married to Viserys most likely to keep the bloodline pure. That part just means she understands now she has what it takes to rule and she had that power within since birth but she knows now how strong she can be. I choose to see it like that.

That's not strength or self-empowerement, that's HUBRIS and self-entitlement that eventually turned her into a tyrant and made her believe she can decide for others. No matter how rushed season 8 was, her ultimate ending wasn't out of nowhere. She wasn't ''born to rule'' (she was the youngest child, she would never ascend) - and only by a twist of fate she was left the last Targaeryen. She was also not the only one in this series who was sold and chained and r*d (Sansa, Theon and so many minor characters) - yet people don't feel sympathy for them. Her eggs were gifted to her. Yes, she did the rest but so did others on their paths without developing a Messiah complex. You can see even here that she already doesn't think about people, she only wants what she think is hers aka POWER. She thinks if she suffered she is owed something... Well, guess what. Millions suffer for NOTHING and there will be no reward or prize or compensation. She couldn't handle the truth which eventually broke her which is NOT something to emulate or admire (and no, that was not depression or grief or insanity, that was banal hubris and corruption of mind).
I really love how this woman is lecturing this man on how she survived all these terrible hardships by 'believing in herself'. Meanwhile, the man listening has fought undead armies and was actually murdered by his own before being brought back to life. He then went on to rise from Lord Commander of the Nights Watch to the first King of the North in three centuries, all the while having been a bastard. His devotion to his duty inspired the love of everyone he knows.
Not actually a bastard, was never raised like others because his adoptive father (de facto uncle) cared properly for him, Robb Stark beats him to the "first in three centuries' bit (and actually reigned longer than him as well, I'm pretty sure). Yes, he went through immense hardships Beyond-the-Wall and was murdered and resurrected, so he is very tough, but I'd say they're about equal, mainly given the horrrific conditions Dany lived her childhood (formative years) in compared to Jon's childhood in Winterfell.

It’s somehow natural that she goes mad. So many people think that hard life makes you stronger, true to a certain extent but if you are weak (which 90% of abused people are unfortunately or rather let’s say human) you will eventually go berserk and turn into the very thing that you despise the most: the person(s) who abused you and start abusing other people.
Daenerys was so arrogant, megalomaniac. Jon didn't want to know his life story, he had his own ghosts and achievements. But Jon didn't go around, boasting about his accomplishments and complaining about his troubles.
Jon, as a male, didn't have to endure half the shit of even his own "sisters". He was raised in a privileged environment. Dany was raised in poverty and with the fear of being assassinated at any moment. He had his bad stuff happening to him but in this type of medieval society men rule and women submit. Dany was trying to subvert this. She got through her bad stuff because she believed in herself. Not because she had a man come and save her. She had faith she could hatch the dragons and she did and her compassion and everything won over many people, who willingly chose to serve her. They had been given the choice to follow her or do what they wanted and they stayed with her. What any other guy in the story has done this? They expected anyone to fight for them if they commanded them to.
The final line of A Game of Thrones: "...and for the first time in hundreds of years, the night came alive with the music of dragons." George has been busy in more recent years retconning the length of time dragons have been absent from Planetos. But it was originally hundreds of years.

And people were so surprised at the ending. Yes, she may have had compassion for slaves and probably wanted to be a benign and good ruler. But to rule was always her primary motivation, something she thought was her birthright.
Well, not exactly her birthright. The Targaryen factor kinda made it seem like it but, after having her dragons and then slowly evolving as a person, all those changes are what made her realise that she is, indeed, the best choice for the throne. I really love how this woman is lecturing this man on how she survived all these terrible hardships by 'believing in herself'. Meanwhile, the man listening has fought undead armies and was actually murdered by his own before being brought back to life. He then went on to rise from Lord Commander of the Nights Watch to the first King of the North in three centuries, all the while having been a bastard. His devotion to his duty inspired the love of everyone he knows.
Not actually a bastard, was never raised like others because his adoptive father (de facto uncle) cared properly for him, Robb Stark beats him to the "first in three centuries' bit (and actually reigned longer than him as well, I'm pretty sure). Yes, he went through immense hardships Beyond-the-Wall and was murdered and resurrected, so he is very tough, but I'd say they're about equal, mainly given the horrrific conditions Dany lived her childhood (formative years) in compared to Jon's childhood in Winterfell.

Daenerys was so arrogant, megalomaniac. Jon didn't want to know his life story, he had his own ghosts and achievements. But Jon didn't go around, boasting about his accomplishments and complaining about his troubles.
Jon, as a male, didn't have to endure half the shit of even his own "sisters". He was raised in a privileged environment. Dany was raised in poverty and with the fear of being assassinated at any moment. He had his bad stuff happening to him but in this type of medieval society men rule and women submit. Dany was trying to subvert this. She got through her bad stuff because she believed in herself. Not because she had a man come and save her. She had faith she could hatch the dragons and she did and her compassion and everything won over many people, who willingly chose to serve her. They had been given the choice to follow her or do what they wanted and they stayed with her. What any other guy in the story has done this? They expected anyone to fight for them if they commanded them to.

And people were so surprised at the ending. Yes, she may have had compassion for slaves and probably wanted to be a benign and good ruler. But to rule was always her primary motivation, something she thought was her birthright.
Well, not exactly her birthright. The Targaryen factor kinda made it seem like it but, after having her dragons and then slowly evolving as a person, all those changes are what made her realise that she is, indeed, the best choice for the throne.
