- High Valyrian subtitled in action scene.
(Spoiler Alert)
After leaving Qarth, Daenerys arrival in Astapor to negociate with master of slaves Kraznys. She demands all Unsullieds in exchange for one of her dragons. Then, Daenerys discovers that rumors about the Unsullied are truth, and master Kraznys discovers that she could speak High Valyrian.

Love the first unsullied that basically said “don’t have to tell me twice”
The slave drivers presumably told them they must do what their master says, the minute they say it. The man was only respecting his slave drivers wise tutelage over the years by skewering him without delay. Its what he would have wanted.
That was grey worm!
@@haychlc it's an obvious joke, take the stick out of your arse.
@@haychlc I'm pretty sure it was a joke. ;)
@@haychlc you’re negative
This scene was a dramatic development for her character, she revealed herself as a military commander and stratege. Still can't believe how Dumb & Dumber fvcked her up in the last season.
who are u referring to?
@@JackfrostCousin The showrunners, who only put in effort in the first half seasons to up their profile and resume, then basically stopped caring in the last seasons because they had secured a better deal on another project. Writing and production got sloppy at the end.
@@FullMoonOctober Agreed no where in the seasons did i even expect her to turn out a mass murderer, there should have been signs in her character earlier on in the series that she would be capable of going to such a rotten state of mind, but they left that out, so weird.
Yeah DB and DB was real fuck ups
@@Sarge80 really? I saw many cracks in her. Her constant thirst for power made her more and more arrogant and unstable. The killing of Missandei pushed her, and the loss of two dragons. Add to that finding out her lover is her nephew and had greater claim to the throne made her go completely over the edge
Messandei's face when she finally spoke valyrian😏
Right! 😳
When you suddenly realise your boss actually knows what you're doing and is actually able to check the quality of your work. 🙂
I actually like *his* reaction when she does. Realizing she understood every insult.
Notice how Messandei was the very first to react when she said the first valeryian word
Hate ! The fact she was killed off
What an incredible scene. Goosebumps when she starts speaking valerian!
Especially when everyone turns their heads.
indeed
Probably her best scene, too bad they ended the series with her going stupid.
Especially when she says Dracarys! Wow that was so good to hear and the man was burnt
It really is an amazing scene! It never loses it’s power
love the detail where everyone except Kraznys, who was too busy with Drogon, noticed Daenerys referring to the Unsullied in High Valyrian, but Kraznys only noticed when she speaks to him directly in High Valyrian
Ive thought about this before, but shit if i had a dragon on a chain and it wasnt seeming very happy, id probably only be paying attention to that as well.
You can learn some foreign words.
Those head turns though!
He probably thought Daenerys only knows commanding words, not speak the entire language.
He probably did notice, but just assumed she memorized a few basic commands, rather than being able to understand and speak the language in its entirety.
I give 100/10 to Emilia Clarke for superior casting. This was the most EPIC moment of the whole GOT.
Epic Moment but not the superior one sorry
@@eucalypso it's a matter of personal opinion. You don't get to come on here and tell people their opinion is wrong. And then snarkily say sorry after. Fuck off.
@@eucalypso it is sorry
@@Poisonedwight different opinion. But no honey the moment when Cersei blowed up the trial was far more epic than Daenerys whole arc FIGHT ME
@@eucalypso I will literally fight you to the death on this I mean I love love love that scene as well but Danny’s arc is just mwah I was up and down with these intense Danny scenes her arc had so much development but Cersei just showed how awful she was ( I’m not saying one characters better than the other I honestly couldn’t decide both were amazing) but Danny moments are better than cerseis moments sorry girl
3:15 “Harm no child!”
Whoops! Looks like we found ANOTHER detail the showrunners just “forgot about!”
Tyrion’s wisdom, Varys’ cleverness, Jon’s importance, Jaime’s redemption, and now Dany’s mercy
Remember, there's YEARS between this happening and the sacking of King's Landing. And she DID get more and more violent over the course of the series. But yeah, her choice while teased wasn't properly set up
@@ThisIsMego She never killed children though or even considered killing a child. Her just randomly burning every innocent in kings landing when Cersei was the one she was mad at made no sense whatsoever. If the showrunners were so set on her destroying king's landing they could have made her accidentally set off the wildfire caches in the city. That would have been a much better and more tragic moment even if I still wouldn't love it. But no, they read all the mad queen Dany theories on the internet and had to go with that even though there's zero foreshadowing in the books.
@@ThisIsMego she never wanted to hurt helpless. And she was not the only one getting more ruthless by the end of books
@@ThisIsMego She only got more violent against slave masters, never the slaves.
@@LordVader1094 Exactly commiting violence doesn't inherently make you evil or corrupt context matters something people constantly remove whenever dany is involved in order to force there mad queen agenda.
3:14 I’ve always LOVED Jorah’s slow, rousing draw of his sword here. You can just hear him thinking “oh shit, are we doing this? We’re doing this!”
Beautiful detail noticed
I love how Jorah immidiately turns towards the master after Dany says Dracarys. He's thinking "oh shit he's about to get smoked"
Also the moment she commands unsullied to kill the masters, his hand goes on his sword. That was the moment he knew Daenerys came for war.
Edited for spelling mistake. Damn you autocorrect.
@@rubinakochar5343 Oh hun, I feel ya! I have more edits for that exact reason! I call it auto INcorrect! 😁
You mean fired right 😂
@@kimmieh8419 🤣
yea man, jorah didn't even understand vylarian but when danny start like 2 sentence speech he know too well that sht about to get real
Love to this day that when she first speaks Valyrian perfectly, Missandei instantly realized she wasn't as timid and oblivious as she first portrayed and had hidden more than one hidden ace. I also love whe she says Dracarys and Jorah instant turnws to Drogo like "OH, BBQ incoming."
After watching House of the Dragon, it seems weird that they wouldn’t expect a Targaryen to speak valyrian
The Master didn't know who she really was until she spoke Valerian and told him her name and title. By then it was too late.
@@captcorajus Even then, like how many bleached haired people in the 7 kingdoms aren’t Targaryen and speak Valyrian lmaoo. I get it was written as plot armor for this whole scene, but you can’t be that ignorant to not recognize a Targaryen WITH 3 DRAGONS.
@@maazypaaz 1. This wasnt in the seven kingdoms, astapor is in essos.
2. There are many people of valyrian descent that look like dany but dont speak valyrian, mainly from lys.
@@giorgosprovatas9104 well targ were in essos to start with so the 1/ is kinda "meh"
but for the second y, there are probably quite a lot of ppl with the same look who dont speak a word since they lost their main city in essos long time before
@@maazypaaz u damn rite, they slip there, but well. its forgiven.. lol
I loved how the first unsullied obeyed without a second thought, and the face of their former master when he realiced Dany speaks Valyrian.
That was Grey Worm
Now people are criticizing Emilia’s pronunciation compared with Millie(saying that she sounds more natural). Emilia spoke as she was sent by the creators of the language to emphasize her detachment from the traditional education of the princess. Considering that Dany did not grow up in castles with teachers, she is fluent in the language and speaks it in her own unique manner.
#MyDany❤
I still feel she over does it with the fictional speech. Still sounds bad compared to the other actors.
Years later & this scene still makes me tear up lmao such a badass moment and so satisfying.
Truly one of the best moment’s across the series! Long live Daenerys Targaryen!
@@heygoodbyee I love my fellow Dany 🖤
It doesn't make me "tear up" but it is indeed a powerful scene.
“It was at that moment he knew -he fucked up.” Feels appropriate.
The hurt in her eyes when she was giving her dragon/her child to the masters is just masterpiece
This scene let everyone know that she was not an ordinary woman. It always gives me Goosebumps.
Emerging from a fire with three strategically placed newly hatched baby dragons wasn't a clue?
@@alkholos I guess someone missed the first 2 seasons - not to mention the house of the undying in season 2
And that exactly what Olenna meant. She is not a sheep. She’s a Dragon.
Drogon’s little sad sounds are adorable. “Mom where are you going? Mommmmm!”
"You would be wise to blood them early."
Speedrun challenge accepted.
Incredible, some of the greatest twists in television history
Today, watching House of The Dragon, I realize what an extraordinary woman Daenerys was. She created 3 dragons and rode them without any prior knowledge. in HOTD, the Targaryens had riders to train the dragons and cells to be able to ride them.
And she was still actually just a teenager when she made this move. It was genius.
The scene that made me fall in love with her.
Love how Jorah grabs his sword and looks like "oh its on!"
I love how cunning and clever Daenerys is in this scene - convinced everyone that she was trading her dragon for the unsullied, and then has Drogon dracarys that loser to a crisp 🔥 love how she just threw everyone completely off guard in this scene!
I find it interesting that over the years it became less and less common knowledge of those from Westeros that the Targaryans spoke Valyrian. You'd think Ser Barriston Selmy, who was Ayres lord commander for his kingsguard would know all Targaryans speak Valyrian by default
O M G!!! I just realized, he told her it would be wise to "blood them early", so she did exactly that!!! :o
It was so hard to hear Drogon cry for his mother. I think for a moment he thought she was leaving him. Broke my heart ❤️
One of the Most satisfying scene from all seasons of GoT. Other one being Reunion of Starks..
I love Emilia Clarke and her interpretation and her acting as Daenerys Targaryen
Seen this on the series was on of the happiest days of my life...sad things went how they did because of a couple guys that wanted to ruin this masterpiece
I don't think they were doing it deliberately. They were just so eager to do Star Wars that they stopped caring about Game of Thrones. Not that that makes it much better.
@@thefairybug40 they did Martin got mad at it also. They just wanted to leave for the next project
You should be upset with George RR for not finishing they books. Everything was going very well until they ran out of material. I mean its been how many years since the show ended and has he even finished one of the books. Imagine if when the Harry Potter movies were being made Rowling just said fuck it and never finished.
@@ssjcajas It's both. True, RR did not finish the books, I'm still waiting for about 15 years I think since I read the first book. It's also the reason I did not watch the show, I did not want spoilers for the books... but I guess that was a false fear. But RR give D&D a complete story of how he wanted to finish the series. D&D had material for some 14 to 16 seasons, they simply refused to use it.
Seriously though, who cares? This is pretend world. Live your life.
What I'm pissed off was that they built her character so much for nothing. She literally went from bottom to up, but then again this is game of thrones. I wouldn't be surprised if the red priestesses tries to ressurect her since she is also a "child of fire".
Nah.....she wud need the body , and right now drogon is having a field trip with mama targaryan, so.........i dont think so
I agree!
What a shi**y ending to a great show and a great character... shame shame shame.
Do you actually believe that or you just another sheep going with what the crowd says?
@@XxXK9 no that's just my opinion, you can have your own too and like the ending. Nothing can oblige me to like or dislike something, neither do you. Does nothing to do with being a sheep or not.
@@XxXK9 The ending was actually fucking terrible, it hurt my brain to even finish it.
if it makes you feel better, that's not the true ending. george r r martin hasn't even finished game of thrones yet
She was such a good leader and this scene proves that by her freeing all these slaves and she was generally a very kindhearted person but in the last season they thought after all the good she has accomplished let’s burn down a entire city full off civillians, it just feels like they couldn’t come up with anything so they just threw what they had done all up until that point right under the bus and killed denerys as a character in the last season..
One of my favorite moments from this masterpiece series.
The soundless pause after "Dracarys"... and then Hell breaks loose!! Too good !!
Look how they murdered my child
Always loved the way her attendant hated the guy so much and showed it so slightly in how she spoke😂
This is quite possibly the best scene from this entire series. Magnificent.
one of the hardest scenes ever filmed
She’s like “don’t mind me, just practicing on my Valyrian”😂
That proud face of jorah👏👏😂😂😂dude loved her the most nd the longest.
This is that scene that if you didn’t love the show it made you a believer.
I watched this clip over 100 times. And i will watch it over 10.000 times more . Masterpiece.
Thank you. Happy for your joy.
Literally the best scene in the entire show
the scene that made me watch the show in the first place.
Lol I used this scene to convince my little sister to watch the show. It’s very effective!
That was the most brilliant scene in the show! There was no doubt as to her determination, will power, and absolute destiny after that!…🔥🔥🔥
Best scene in this series for me, 10/10, no more needed to say
Her pain from fakely leaving her favorite for even a few seconds, though.
This was my favorite part of the books and they did a great job recreating it. In the books she shouted dracarys multiple times, but spot on other than that!
Dracarys here was so natural unlike sounding weirdly modern later on
This scene still gets me. It was powerful! The music, the play of cameras the actors everything!
I always loved this scene. That first unsullied was like ‘hell yeah I’ve been waiting for this!’
Every battle scene of Danys incredible
Still one of the best scenes in television history!!
Still can’t decide if I get more satisfaction out of this or the golden crown moment from season 1.
A great scene! The first time I saw it it blew me away. I was team danearys….till season 8
Goosebumps with this scene
I have never watched an episode of GOT. I have picked up on it by watching episode RUclips cuts. Yet I am captivated by her portrayal of this scene. Her shrewdness and control gives her the air of a true leader. I would follow her....
This was Denaerys's at her best self. She had no ego at this point, the insults didn't matter to her, and all that mattered to her was the end result. But once she entered Westeros, her ego got bloated, and she had a lot of pride. This led her to make many bad decisions, she started believing that she is "destined" for the Iron Throne and that eventually cost her her life.
This is a good lesson to anyone about what happens to one's character when you let your ego and the pride that results from it, grow without limit. Ever wondered what happens to "child prodigies" when they grow up?
she was destin for the throne
No she assumed
To be fair I don't think it was ego. I think it was trauma and frankly logic. She was motivated to take back the throne her ancestors built by thinking she would be a good and wise ruler for the people. On the way she saw two of her dragons die, Ser Jorah die. Missandei die and for what? Kings landing and the people who allowed Cersei and the others to do that? Who hid in the walls of Kings landing hoping Daenerys would be killed and cersei to prevail? For John snow and his trifling ass and his annoying sisters going round being all hypocritical. it was a hollow victory and tbh I totally understand why she burnt it down and wanted to start again. She said she wanted to break the wheel and she did.
I think if she wasn't atop the dragon and wasn't traumatised, she would have considered the children down there as she has done before. But hearing those bells ring only when she won, looking at kings landing she realised she wanted her dragons and friend back, not some stupid throne or city. So in her grief burned it all down and wanted to get rid of everyone that ever stood by and allowed things to happen.
Then we get into why jon killed her which was because he knew sansa was trying to get rid of dany and make jon king. If sansa had calmed tf down and asked for the north like yara did, and not been threatened by daenerys then this wouldn't have been a problem.
I still think give it a few weeks daenerys would have mellowed out and things could have resolved. But maybe the books will be written differently.
i low-key agree, but i wish they showed more of her believing the throne is hers no matter what, show how she went on the madness path
@@cookiealexd123 Jon Snow really did support her until the last moment. Until she said, "they don't get to choose" That is the moment he decided to kill her for everyone's sake. If she is egoless, then she should have handed over the throne to Jon Snow but she didn't. Yes, she really believed that she was going to make the world better but she assumed that she was always right and only what she did was right. That itself is clear evidence of her bloated ego.
In her eyes burning civilians, is justified. She could have stopped attacking using the dragon once the wall was breached but instead she went on to finish what the mad king started > "burn them all".
Even if Jon didn't kill her, someone of her own guards would have killed her at some point. Varys, having served many kings, foresaw this, that is why he attempted to conspire against her.
I love the look on the guys face when she starts speaking Valaryian.
The sentence "a dragon is not a slave" is actually way more important than you think it is. It marks her true destiny and the antithesis to her ancestors
This is my all time favorite GOT scene! 💗
Best scene of the entire series.
This scene was just amazing!
The karma was so satisfying in this episode
Oh…this show had sooo much potential. 😅
Something else I noticed very close to the end of the clip you all might have missed. Drogon is mercy-killing all the dying crucified slaves on the Walk of Punishment.
i never caught that!
Pretty sure he's killing soldiers on the wall
@@seleth6068 I ran it at 1/4 speed. That's the Walk of Punishment and there are dying slaves on the crucifixes.

Thanks for the subtitles , this being a fictional language there are only a few people on earth who would be able to interpret exactly what she is saying.
The speech was a lot longer and more gripping in the book!
One of my favorite scenes in GOT and all of cinema!!
One of the best scenes in GoT
