    So Tumblety had a hatred of women, thus he murdered them? Evidently he only hated British women because there’s no evidence he killed any women in America. That is, if you buy he had anything to do with the Whitechapel murders. He didn’t. Tumblety was a quack, a con man, and a homosexual. He was always under surveillance by law enforcement. That doesn’t make him a murderer. Tumblety never stayed in one place for very long. As a foreigner he couldn’t have been familiar with area. Tumblety with that huge, bushy, flamboyant, mustache would have stood out like a sore thumb. Yet none of the potential witnesses ever mention such a mustache. I’ll stick with Charles Lechmere. At least he can be placed at the scene of one of the murders….

    Unless some evidence (such as a diary) is discovered, Jack the Ripper's identity will remain a mystery. Charles Leechmyer is also a good candidate.

    • @lexirae7889
      @lexirae7889 Месяц назад +3

      30 yrs ago a book was written about a man of that era who left a diary claiming to have been Jack. The man wasn't from White Chapel, but was known to frequent the area. The theory & writings were largely dismissed as the ramblings of a crazy person. You can't win. Even a confession by uncovered diary, written in first-person account & verified to be from that era & location will not "solve the mystery" to anyone's satisfaction bc people have turned the mystery itself into the legend & solving it will spoil the intrigue.

    I never believed Tumblety was Jack the Ripper. He was a big guy with a bushy mustache that would have stood out too much to be stealth enough to pull off the murders. Not to mention, he doesn't even vaguely fit the sketch that eyewitnesses help make nor the description given of The Ripper. We will likely never know conclusively but my two best guesses after almost two decades of watching content on Jack The Ripper would be Aaron Kosminski or Charles Lechmere since he "discovered" the first victim.

  • @silrana37
    @silrana37 Месяц назад

    Nope. A lot of the Tumblety 'proof' comes from a lack of historical knowledge. For instance, the uterus collection. His focus was treating women's so-called hysterical ailments. And during that time period, having specimen collections was a mark of a serious doctor. It was just to make him look legit. If you don't believe me, look at how many medical museums were starting when a doctor donated his collection.

    I'm not sure if the police looked into it, but the murderer might of had an accomplice, someone to keep a look out for passerby's. A person acting by himself to kill and mutilate the bodies ran a high risk of being caught in the act by a passerby catching him. Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, and Catherine Eddowes seem to have been murdered and mutilated by the same person. The killers might have been interrupted by Israel Schwartz, as one of them seemed to chase him after the other called out a racial slur to him. Mary Jane Kelly's murder and evisceration might have been the accomplices work or together. However, this all is just a theory, and I don't have any solid evidence to support it.

    I got interested in this subject a few years ago and did quite a lot of research on the matter. All of the suspects had good reasons that they were suspects, but the most likely one IMO was a Polish Jew who spent time in an insane asylum named Kosminski. He was briefly mentioned in this video, but he was unstable, supposedly a butcher (so would have been familiar with using a knife and anatomy).

    • @lyndoncmp5751
      @lyndoncmp5751 Месяц назад

      A nutter needing placement in an asylum is an old fashioned completely outdated theory. We know the serial killers tend to be outwardly normal, even seemingly respectable. Someone you wouldn't think twice was the culprit.
      Serial killer research has come along way since the 19th century when the police were ignorant about serial killers and mental health illnesses.
