Never thought I would see the day when apple removed the notch. Yet some how, they managed to make it take up more room by removing it. The space between and near the top or around the cut outs just seems so small that i think it’ll be pointless to have that macro space of screen real estate.

Lol I literally am using a $125 Motorola (I think it's technically 400 MSRP) that has the bullet hole and a stylus. But yeah apple so innovative lol.
It's called the used a hole punch and didn't bother to wire up any of the pixels that overlapped with the hole....kinda like how CPU's and GPU's get binned according to which parts of the circuit work and which have defects(with the defective parts being (sometimes forcibly) left disconnected), only the defects are self-inflicted....

Unless other manufacturers have made advances I have not heard about, Apple kept the notch for so long as FaceID uses quite a few sensors etc. that stops issues that other systems have like unlocking for a photo.
If they have managed to hide that stuff under the screen, it is actually a lot more impressive than it appears

This isnt true. In fact its the other way around. Germany had little to no way of securing rubber and oil and had to make synthetic versions. Most oil and rubber at the time was produced in places like USSR, USA, Indonesia. Germany had severe procurment issues due to blockades and trade bans. Hence they had to ration fuel and rubber on cars, tanks, and other means

New iPhone punch hole layout is taller and just wastes more vertical real estate. They should at least bring back the battery percentage with that taller/thicker status bar…
iOS status bars are always thicker than the notch, wouldn't be surprised if more vertical space was wasted for apps on the Pro models.

I meant even more vertical space will be wasted on the pro models because of the new pill layout that goes even lower than the old notch. iPhone no notch = skinny status bar; iPhone with notch = thick/tall status bar; new iPhone pill = even thicker/taller status bar

It's almost as if that notch was put there so it being eventually taken off would be regarded as a great innovation, which would be totally unlike the new MacBooks having ports again

Fair enough. My complaint is that 5% of my screen is now only useful as a notification bat. I find this kills my immersion.
I'd prefer a notchless slightly thicker at the top display, so that I can at least see the battery percentage lol
I held off on switching to iPhone for the longest time because of the notch, but same, I hardly ever notice it. There's no reason to watch RUclips videos zoomed in because that cuts off content, and that's about it for the video watching I do on my phone (and most of the time it's video listening to be frank). The only time I've ever had it be an issue was with one particular game that eventually was updated to account for it.
All that said, I would much rather have an iPhone without a notch, but this doesn't seem to be the right way to go about it. Don't know why they didn't stick with it for another year, especially since the iPhone 13 lineup's notch is already smaller than my iPhone 12's. You know, wait until they could do under-the-screen sensors for Face ID.

I am still rocking the OnePlus 7 pro and I love it. The no notch and pop-up camera seems to work beautifully. I've never had a single problem with it and it works exactly as good as the day I got it. Plus it's kind of neat.
I still don't understand why companies ran away from motorized cameras they fixed the notch problem.
@@asandax6 I know, it does seem a little bit odd especially just because of the success that this phone was. I have a friend that has the same phone. He has dropped the thing like a thousand times the screen is cracked like crazy and it's all messed up but, the front-facing camera still works perfectly fine lol
I want a full-screen phone with an under display camera that is good, but I'll keep my notches and hole punches until that day comes.
I’ll just keep my IPhone XE2020 seeing it’s still getting updated for about another 10 years or until such time if fully breakers down after all your an idiot to waste money upgrading if you have a perfectly good working phone

To be fair, MacOS doesn't have that many feature either.
It has no touchscreen, proper stylus support, OpenGL, Android intergration, dualboot... And the outdated menu bar on top of the screen. How many year since MacOS actually has new feature beside gimmick and UI changes anyway?

They should make a little crown on top of the phone, that way they can add the camera without taking up any of the screen space.
In fact, why not extend the screen upwards so the top of the phone is flush with said crown, so we have a slightly bigger screen?

You've practically hit the nail on the head with the VR for pain relief; the system basically floods your nervous system so you can't focus on anything except what's going on in the virtual world (like standard VR), except instead of spiders attacking you it's a VR coach telling you exactly why you're in pain and what exercises you should use to treat it. The exercises themselves are mostly taken from CBT, and involve the likes of breathing exercises and mindfulness. It doesn't remove the pain, but it does make it more manageable.
You might also be able to add music to REALLY flood the system, but that still needs some proper research.

VR most likely helps with back pain by providing the user with relaxing/calming imagery and sounds during muscle inhibition training, i.e., muscle relaxation strategies to reduce the frequency and severity of lower back spasms. Calm mind, calm body.

The A15 still has above average performance. As long as they keep the price low & put more than a 3000mah battery in it it shouldnt be outclassed by most $450 phones in either CPU or battery under CPU load

I like my iPhone....mind I'm still using a pre-notch iPhone SE......which was honestly working perfectly until I updated to iOS 15, now when I go to my alarms I've noticed that for the three particular alarms I regularly use (to get up for work, I have a plethora of other alarms that are quick go-to's for generic time of day things. easier to edit an alarm than create a new one, and apple only really gives the two options), I can usually turn two of them on, then the third is somehow coopting the time from the first, and displaying them as the same time, and somewhat synchronizing the enable/disable button between them, meaning I have to toggle both of them on and off in an exploratory fashion, watching the time change when I click enable/disable, until I figure out the right combination that they don't both react at the same time when I hit the enable. Thanks Apple, taking a product that worked great and making it worse FTW. Btw, FTW = Fuck The Weasels working at Apple, you've already convinced my die-hard iPhone fanatic gf to switch to Android and she's never been happier. I only enjoy your phones for your stance on privacy, I'd honestly be happy with a flip phone, I hate doing anything on phones or tablets other than reading or using them as a phone(my Nokia 6085 could do that) if I want to seriously use the internet that's what computers are for.

I love it when companies do that. I have some inexpensive music software that was perfect for my needs. In an update, the devs silently removed one of the most useful features. It even still listed it as a feature on their website till the day it went out of support.

I see a lot of people saying that the notch is going away, but I honestly just can't believe it. considering they've doubled down on it with even putting notches on their laptops now. But in the extremely, incredibly unlikely case that they actually do remove it from anything, I hope it signals that they're going to remove it from everything.
But yeah, I really, REALLY don't see the notch going away. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed when the iPhone 14 releasers with a notch across the board this year.

I actually dislike the hole punch design more than the notch. The area next to the notch is like an auxiliary area for stuff that’s not related to consuming content. The hole punch is a hole in my content consumption space. I’d much rather a full screen, or if they have to put something there, make it a notch.
