@@SimonVaIe not sure if it's true or not but "There is no “f word”, so to speak. The closest equivalent is “stupid”. Even a less vulgar swear word like “shit” only appears in the context of “shit happens”. You can walk around the street and not hear any obscenities at all, even in the streets of Tokyo"

Can we all be honest? Most valuable company in the world shouldn't be a topic anymore. If it's just switching between Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia I honestly don't care. Other than that, keep up the good work guys!

idgaf about battery life. You can buy low power laptops that will last a long time on battery. High end laptops should have high performance CPUs.

Well I just got my SL7 and I’m at 45% battery after 9 and a half hours of usage!!! I started at 100% on launch day and dropped to 82% in exactly 3 hours. By the 5th hour I think I was at 68% and when I woke up the next day, it was still at 68%. Today I used an additional 4 and a half hours and I’m at 45% before I closed it.
During my usage I had a very generous amount of things open, way more than I’ve ever had on any previous laptop.
10 - 15 tabs of chrome, settings, geek bench, copilot, task manager, Microsoft word and excel, notepad, Discord, Spotify, and most of the time some form of RUclips audio playing in the background. I did stream and watch videos during my usage and download some things. The 120hz refresh rate is amazing and my battery was not on low power mode either.
I am completely blown away by the performance.
@@liamsz it's not though. If there was a way to make the same performance with less watts then desktop CPUs would already do that. Laptop CPUs are significantly less powerful than full power desktop CPUs.
Yep. Seconded. Qualcomm has also said their machines will support Linux out of the box too. Fuck Apple.
I always learned that when you run a business, you should always under promise and over deliver. But these days big companies seem to do the opposite. I guess because they get away with it....... 😢

Yeah, that's why I don't even care about whatever they're launching until independent reviews are out.
I totally get why people are mad about that, but I'mma be honest. The only reason I'd ever consider one of those Qualcomm chips is for the long battery life. And with that, there goes Apple's one advantage down the drain. Wonder what Apple's going to pull out of their ass this time as the feature they're going to use to try to justify bending customers over.
Reviewers aren't doing a great job too. Comparing gaming benchmarks from a gaming laptop to a notebook without any discrete GPU.
You always have to lowkey lie or do some cherry picking benchmarks for your new product.
No one wants your brand-new device which is already worse than current similar products
Benchmarks are actually pretty similar to the benchmarks given to us.
Windows laptops have a windows problem. If my 8 year old laptop can achieve amazing battery life on linux, the problem isn't the hardware anymore
There are already plenty of windows laptops with amazing battery life. Just don't expect to use them for gaming workloads. Which is what most people do consider as a factor for a windows laptop.
My laptop from 2009 with a dead battery could get to the login screen if i was lucky if it wasn't plugged in. Now with Linux i can use it for around 5 minutes before it turns off.
@@itsarian. Yeah, I mean there is no question whether Linux is a more resource efficient OS or not. It obviously is.
My point is that amazing battery life isn't just achievable with Linux. It's mostly the use-case that causes the complaints.
@@paulelderson934OS-for-OS Linux will beat Windows out 9/10 times on the same hardware because the vast majority of Linux distributions don't have spyware running in the background sucking up your activity.
(some laptops have special energy saving chips who's firmware is only available to Microsoft, takes extra time to reverse engineer those, and some people don't know to install tlp on Linux laptops to save energy)
Mine gives worse battery backup when using Linux. So I just started using WSL.

The best use case for using your phone as a secondary PC display (imo) is for when you need a drawing tablet. I just recently did some texture work in Substance 3D Painter, and my S23 Ultra came in clutch.
