    Why would you ever want to get it out of your head? That dark event helped make you the man you are, David. Its memory shores up every other one of your core values.

    What happened at Kent State must be remembered as part of a movement -- it was not just a single isolated event. It wasn't even just an anti-war protest, even though the students at Kent State may have thought of it that way.

    I guess he was so afraid of being shot by the cops that he started carrying an illegal firearm himself. Sometimes while freebasing coke. Stick with music dude.

    David is one of my music hero. But he ignores what chaos was created by the rioters. There is documentation to the behavior of the rioters. Bad situation both ways. Both sides behaving badly. It was not entirely peaceful. He needs to find something wrong to sing about or he has no inspiration.

    • @ffavetta1
      @ffavetta1 4 года назад +14

      Watch the film of the shootings. There were no rioters. Just a peaceful LEGAL assembly to protest the Cambodia invasion and Viet Nam war. Some of the people killed or wounded were not even participating. They were just crossing campus to change class. There is absolutely no way to justify the MURDER of 4 students that day. Check your facts. Hurling tear gas cannisters back at the National Guard in no way justifies randomly firing live ammunition into a crowd of people. HOW DARE YOU blame the behavior of anyone for that result.

    • @josiehutira9634
      @josiehutira9634 4 года назад +8

      we can be quick to say that the protestors were "rioting" or "armed," but remember: the protestors had rocks. the National Guard had military grade guns and tear gas. The National Guard at the time consisted of undertrained teenagers (yes, 18-19 years old), who were only motivated to follow orders because it kept them from going to Vietnam. The specific demonstration which led to the Kent State Massacre was entirely peaceful. There was no excuse.

      Joseph it’s not my narrative to share. i’ve studied may 4th in depth and have discussed it with historians who have far more knowledge than me. i’m just stating the facts.

    • @ffavetta1
      @ffavetta1 4 года назад +3

      @@josephc3364 We have rewritten nothing. No matter what bad behavior you try to document that any protestor engaged in on the fateful day, it can never amount to a justification for firing live ammunition into a crowd of people. PERIOD. Innocent bystanders were both killed and wounded. What is your problem? Watch any film documentary of the incidents occurring prior to the shooting. Nothing anyone did justifies people being murdered. There were no riots. There was a mass gathering and some taunting, rock throwing and tear gas canister retrieval and return. So, I get it, they deserve to be shot for that. If anything the National Guard presence aggravated the situation. It only gave the group of protestors something else to be upset about. Or the ROTC building was burned down the day before. So, shoot em down. That'll teach em. Commie bastards. I have no idea how you can possibly even try to justify what happened that day. BEHAVIOR OF THE RIOTERS MY A - -.
