George wrote this while he played Hookie from the business meetings the band was having that day. He was at Eric Clapton's house in the backyard "garden" on one of those first days of spring when the sun shines bright and the birds come out, especially after a long winter of tensions with the band and the suits surrounding them.

George Harrison was their secret weapon, guitar player who influenced countless others and the song or 2 he would write for every record had a style and vibe all his own. For more, check out his magnum opus solo triple album, filled with great songs that never made it on any later Beatles albums, his great All Things Must Past. 2 Discs of brilliant studio songs and a third of live jams with a bunch of awesome musicians, one of the best albums ever. Do the title cut and listen in wonder.

Actually, in that group, Ringo was the peace maker. George developed a strained attitude to both John and Paul over time. It was Ringo who for the most part, got on with the other three pretty much the whole time. Ringo had the patience of a saint in a lot of sessions, particularly towards the end.

For sheer exuberance and, for the time utterly new arrangement, try the early 'She Loves You'. Bob Dylan's favourite as it introduced the whole world of popular music to new levels of complex chords with stunning harmonies, kicked him into leaving folk music. Up to then, most pop music was played by professional session musicians with the pretty boys and girls maybe singing, maybe just miming. The 1950s of writer-player-singers like Churk Berry, Jerry-Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, were fading. Even Beach Boys used The Wrecking Crew and only Roger McGuinn was allowed to play on Byrds first record

George always had to fight for his songs being in a band with Lennon and McCartney, but I think that helped him become the songwriter he was. By the time the band split, George had become their equal. Check out George's first solo album "All Things Must Pass". He had a backlog of great songs, and they all came spilling out on that record.

Wonderful, heartfelt reaction. It's history's greatest band at their best. The melody, harmonies, mix and arrangement are Beatles magic. What I like about it most is that George wrote and sang it. He always got the rap that he had the grand misfortune of being a good songwriter in a band with the two best. Yet this is the most listened to Beatles song on Spotify. Well done Mr. Harrison. RIP.

This is The Beatles #1 played song on Spotify and is now approaching 1 Billion plays. I've been listening to The Beatles since 1964 and trust me, there's no way that there is a 10 best song list. There's just too many great ones to have a top 10 list. If you dive into this band your list is gonna change all the time
The best way the best way is chronologically from 1963 to 1969. Let It Be was their last Lp released in 1970 but was actually recorded in Jan.- Feb. 1969. "Abbey Road" released in September, 1969 is actually their last Lp recorded together.
This song is from that album and so are "Something" (another George song) and John's "Come Together" is also from that Lp. If I had to choose my favorite Beatles song
(gun to my head) I'd probably choose "Here Comes The Sun" and John's "Nowhere Man" would be right there too. One hell of a great song.
    Peace ❤

    Let It Be
    Here Comes the Sun

George Harrison wrote this in Eric Clapton's garden using one of Clapton's acoustic guitars.
This song was inspired by the long winters in England, which Harrison thought would last forever.
The Beatles had stopped touring by the time this song was recorded, so they never played it live. Harrison first played it live at the 1971 Concert for Bangla Desh, which he organized to bring aid to that country.

Great song or what! George Harrison, stepping out of the shadow of Lennon/McCartney with an all time feel good song that is therapeutic and beautiful. It is jarring to hear it on the magnificent Abbey Road album, when you get around to listening to the entire album someday, this songs starts right after the deep heaviness and abrupt ending of the bluesy proto-metal last few moments of I Want You (She's So Heavy). THAT song totally blew minds back in 1969, including mine, they were going out with a bang on that tune and it ends and the song you just reacted to begins. That album will so blow you away, you have a bit of evidence in what you just heard but seriously, this is almost always in a top 5 albums of all time debate. Magnificent, enjoy lovely lady! 🔥✌🎵

Remember the difference between a band like the Beatles and say many solo artist is that they had so many different combinations which keeps their music fresh. So many groups are one dimensional where you have one person singing all of the songs or playing one instrument. With the Beatles you had 4 singers. If Lennon is singing then you have McCartney and Harrison on background vocal. If you have Paul singing, you had John and George on background vocals. You had 4 part harmonies, duets, sharing the lead, So you have all of these different vocal arrangements. 3 played guitar. 2 played bass, 2 played drums. 2 played keyboards. 1 played harmonica. 3 wrote the lyrics, and 3 wrote the music.

Great reaction!! It’s always nice to watch someone discover the Beatles. As a lifelong fan, my top ten are: I want to Hold Your Hand, In My Life, Help, Eleanor Rigby, Yesterday, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Come Together, Something, Long and Winding Road…. Tough to name only ten, with so many amazing songs to choose from. .. can’t wait for more.

Almost all of the Beatles' songs are beautiful in one way or another, and there are so many that it's hard to recommend any, but you can't miss listening to the ones on the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."

George was going through a rough time during the final Beatles times. There were a lot of bussiness meetings and having to deal with lawyers and stuff he just wasn't interested in. One day he "bailed out" of one of those meetings and spent the day with his friend Eric Clapton in his garden instead. That's where he got the inspiration for this song.

Back in the days when Flash Mobs were a thing some musicians invaded a licensing office waiting room in Spain. They brought smiles to the folks in one of the boring places on Earth. Here Comes the Sun was perfect for it.

I love The Beatles tune that is similar to this song. Its called, "I'll Follow the Sun". It goes, "But tomorrow may rain soooo I'll follow the sun....". Another sunny song, though not a Beatles song, is, "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and The Waves. And another one which is a simple love balled called, "Sunshine" by the '70's hard rock band Nazareth. Similarly John Denver did a folk ballad called, "Sunshine On My Shoulders". And the '70's Canadian band Lighthouse did a pop song called "Sunny Days". Also, Terry Jacks did a hit pop song called "Seasons in the Sun".

This has always been my favorite song from George and the Beatles. I love the video, especially when the stork comes flying over the Indian couple holding each other. That's Krishna (God) and his loving gopi, Radha . It always makes me emotional, maybe because it really reminds me of George. He was very involved with the Hare Krishnas and it makes me miss him .

I just love Harrison’s songs. Always soothing. There are many Beatles songs not mentioned in the top 10 that are even better than those so hopefully you’ll get around to it. But I’m excited for Help! The song is nice but the promo video is so funny, just them being goofballs, you’ll love it.

The whole side 2 of the Beatles "Abby Road' is one of my favorite sides of an album ever....I think it needs to be played in its entirety and lots of the songs go right from one song into the next...But "Here comes the sun" does stand alone to open the side just worthy of being added in cause it just starts the whole side off on a good vibe.

This sounds like a pretty straight forward song with the acoustic guitars. That was one of the amazing things about the Beatles. They made everything looks so easy, like their vocal harmonies on stage with the audience screaming and no decent sound system at that time. In this case, if you go to a video breakdown of the recording of this song, the level of detail to make it "sound" simple is crazy. But, they were the Beatles.
