The Beatles changed the world of Rock & Roll. Their success started the British invasion 1964 in America. Each one of the Beatles had their own unique talent. How really lucky we have been to listen to their music. ✌✌
I've had the Beatles in my soul since Feb. 9, 1964...I was 11 years old...I'm now 71. I can't imagine my life without them as I've known "nothing else." This tune/video is a heart grabbing, soul piercing, and tear-jerking masterpiece. I took it really hard when John died...and how he died. This video is a final piece of John, his beautiful voice, and his genius. I miss you John.
A proper follow up to "In My Life". This is an amazing gift given to us by the Beatles. An amazing production, and this is a song that I think just about everyone can relate to. Thank you John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
This song & video gives me such nostalgic vibes. I grew up with the Beatles music as a young girl. This also makes me a little sad since John & George are no longer with us (John was murdered in 1980 & George died of cancer in 2001). But I like the video showing them all together. I am sure Paul & Ringo loved doing this tribute & it must have brought back a lot of fond memories for them. The Beatles had a great sense of humor that is shown by some of the flashbacks & like seeing the costumes from Sgt. Pepper's album.
@@traydaniel0403 A schizophrenic madman broke into George's home and stabbed him several times. Olivia saved his life. He thought the Beatles were witches and George was the head witch. George might have seen the funny side of that...well not at the time.

The video does such a great job at portraying their relationship, their individual goofy personalities and the journey through life they had together. It was so emotional to me. It was fun to watch your expressions when seeing the video. I made some of the same expressions.
A song that laid forgotten and hidden since 1977 'til 1995, and then it was the Beatles turn to demonstrate why they changed the world again with Now and Then!!
The mini-documentary on the making of the song is definitely worth checking out, and will dispel all the uninformed rumours about the song supposedly being "generated by AI".
It's impossible to imagine what my life would be like without the Beatles. My four kids - all under 15 - know the entire Beatles catalog (and I consider that a sign of excellent parenting). Their music is the soundtrack of my life. I love them so much. More than I can say. And yet sadly I don't love this song. It feels to me like what it is: a cobbled-together scratchpad of a song. Granted, a scratchpad of the most significant musicians in my lifetime. And better than anything I have ever written. The video is delightful. Love your channel. Thanks Beth.
I remember 1962 and being 8 years old and hearing 'Love me do' - The Beatles have beem there tor me for 62 years and I find this song, this 'closing the loop' very moving.
Sad but beautiful. Hearing John was like saying hello to an old friend after many years. Nice to see George as well. Thanks to Paul and Ringo for doing this. A moving farewell to the greatest band ever.
Paul has said that these were the last words John said to him the last time they met in person in 1976 ‘Think of me now and then’. John then wrote the song in 1977 so it was clearly an idea going around his head. He then labeled the tape ‘For Paul’. We’ll never know for sure if he wrote the song for Paul, if it was thinking of a future collaboration, or if he just wanted Paul to hear it. Either way it feels so right that Paul, along with George and Ringo get to finish this off for him!
5:41 the one thing I hope AI doesn't do is replace the human imagination. Like the whole track is not AI generated, it was just used to isolate and clean John's vocals. But pretty much John composed it, and Paul and Ringo just edited it down and added their bits, along with archival recordings of George.
I love that Giles Martin was brought on to produce and do the orchestral arrangement. It was a very touching addition to the last Beatles song. If you can’t have the 5th Beatle, who better to step in than his son
Emotional, eerie emotional, tears of surprise and joy came into my eyes!! The Beatles are there and they are not, the young ones sharing the stage and the studio with their old counterparts; the last Beatles' song came into being after their 1970's break-up. I've got overjoyed and melancholic more than nostalgic with the Now and Then masterpiece, I'm 55 y.o. now and been a Beatles fan since 1981, history passes by, and the Beatles are part of me to the end! Greetings!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beth- you rock. What a wonderful, genuine reaction to a truly beautiful dirge. Now and Then takes me through a plethora of emotions and to my surprise - I tear up each time I hear it. I watched The Beatles live on The Edge Sullivan Show and later met Mr Sullivan. Do you know what my reaction was to that? “Wow, I just shook hands with the guy who shook hands with The Beatles.”
This goes straight to the heart and it will get your feelings out of the cage.. the first time and this time.. it almost made me cry.. it's beautiful, sad, nostalgic.. I'm not sure how much it can be done about the beatles, but this song feels like a good closure of the whole beatles nostalgia and of course a strongly emotional homage to George and John from Ringo and Paul.. I bet you never stop missing them. now I want to cry...
A wonderful video that brought me tears of melancholy, but also of joy. My brother, who was 12 years older, was in contact with the Beatles for 6 weeks in the first half of the 60s, as he worked at the Top Ten Club in Hamburg, where the Beatles also performed. I was 10 or 11 years old at the time. When the Beatles' first records were released in Germany, he bought them immediately and I also had the pleasure of listening to their music every day. Since then, music from many different genres has accompanied me.
This video and performance is typical Beatles ... just wonderful. I keep viewing and listening every day. We in our mid-70s have a lot of memories of Beatles music... so joyful we were when a new Beatles single or album was released. We would listen countless times ... and then over decades of our lives... great to see that some of the younger generations have discovered the Beatles timeless music, from their early days all the way through their catalogue and until now .
I really enjoyed your reaction Beth! It’s a Gift to ALL of US! Paul really saw this through with Ringo. Peter Jackson did the editing in the Music Video. Giles Martin String Arrangements with Paul. Each Principle working on this are Maestro’s!!! The Beatles come to the End if their Long and Winding Road with an exquisite gift 🎁 and Homage to George and John, Paul, and Ringo! I’m 71 and feel Blessed to witness this from beginning to end! I bought “I Want To Hold Your Hand in January of 1964 at 11 years old! How Wonderful to see and hear young people enjoy the Beatles in 2023! Great Job Beth!!! ❤
You beautifully captured the emotions this song made me feel. I wouldn't even call myself a Beatles fan, but it's hard not to feel the gravity of this song when listening to it.
Back to some of the best years of my life, when I was young and we were introduced to music like none we had ever heard before and sounded so good you wanted to hear it more and more. The Beatles brought joy to our lives, their greatest gift.
I remember seeing them live in Toronto in 1965 when I was 10 years old. The memory is seared into my consciousness and this last song is so moving - there just aren’t the words to express the feelings it brings.
I was -10 years old when they were introduced to the world. I grew up listening to my mom's 45 of I Want To Hold Your Hand/I Saw Her Standing There, Meet the Beatles LP, and Rubber Soul LP in my room. I lost my mom in September of 2021, and this song, as well as Blackbird, Yesterday and In My Life instantly connect me to her (and reduce me to tears). ❤
Just loved it, brought tears to my eyes, i was there in the 60's, all these years later it's quite emotional remembering those wonderful times and as they fade away at the end it really tugs at your heart. Thank you Yoko for relinquishing this treasure so this last Beatles song could be created and released these 54 years later. ❤
We are incredibly fortunate that George and the other three laid down so many superb tracks for this in the 1990's. That is the icing on the cake, having that George Harrison guitar work. Also fortunate they had so much high quality 16mm movie footage from a 1967 project. Jackson was able to cut that 1967 footage into the 19990's and 2023 footage in such a way that they really do look like they are all in the same room together, looking at each other, and interacting. This is the perfect last song.
I was so excited to hear this song. When I finally did I cried. I was in disbelief that I was listening to the final Beatles song. The whole experience was bittersweet. You are correct in saying this is a goodbye. Such a gift to the world. 😢♥️
This song/video really captures beautifully how we carry those we love and have lost with us forever. They're not really gone as long as we remember. Thankfully with musicians like George and John we have their music to never forget.
What you said in the end about being a love song is true. That's why they cutted the verse saying i don't wanna lose you. Because they wanted to be a goodbye more to the Beatles fans and all the world to John and George
Most reactions to this song are based on talking about the AI that was able to recreate Lennon's vocals or about the nostalgia, but one element that not a lot of people talk about is how awesome it was that the guitar part that we hear on this track is actually George Harrison, recorded before he passed away. And he recorded that, because they wanted this song to be on the 1995 Anthology album. But even though the song got cut from the album, due to the poor quality of the vocals, the guitar part still existed. So when you think about this song, it was really recorded in 3 different eras: 1970s, 1990s, present. That blows my mind.
Thank you, this was wonderful, I was there in the 60's listening to the Beatles, hearing all their new songs come out, it was an incredible time and the Beatles were the RAVE. One thing I really noticed is just how well Ringo has aged, he looks fantastic for 83 years old!!
Years ago I read this short evaluation of the Beatles, 'There are groups, there are supergroups and there is THE group'. Sums it up for this Beatlefreak
Thanks Beth. Your choice to let this song stand on its own and above analysis was clearly the right call. Enjoying the ride is all that matters as are the memories it creates for those of us were, are and always will be fans of the four lads from Liverpool. Part of the emotional tug this song exerts on any Beatle fan is trying to parse John's intent. It's clearly love letter, but is when he sings "Now and then, I miss you," who or what is he really talking about? Is it Paul...is it Paul, George and Ringo...is it their legions of steadfastly loyal fans, does it have something to do with Yoko or is there some other meaning that's so personal, we'll never really know That being the case, I'm happy just to sit back enjoy this beautiful and haunting song...the last song The Beatles will ever do.
I was in middle school in the US when Beatlemania exploded on the scene. Having lived with the Beatles for almost 60 years, it's thrilling and touching to see a young adult experience the Beatles for the first time. Wonderful reactions and comments.
Apparently on the box that the cassette came in was written...For Paul. This is bitter sweet as I know it's the last Beatles song. That Beatles bow gets me every time. In the 80s I was privileged to be in a Beatles tribute band playing the George Harrison part. At the end of every show we would do that Beatle bow.
Nice to see this epic conclusion of the whole Beatles story (again). I've watched this video now for countless times and still I'm tearing up. As you can tell I was a Beatles fan back in the day and still are today. However sad the deaths of John and George were, I think it has added to the magic of the band. This song now feels like - as you said - an ode to not only John and George, but to the Beatles as a band. In the last few seconds of the video, they bowed and faded away and then ... just a few seconds later the band name in the back faded as well. This was a final goodbye.

The Beatles changed the world of Rock & Roll. Their success started the British invasion 1964 in America. Each one of the Beatles had their own unique talent. How really lucky we have been to listen to their music. ✌✌
They, actually, changed THe World not just The World of Music:)
@@Isleofskye I agree with you. I would listen to their music overseas when serving in the Vietnam region during the war. It calmed me down.
@@e-5ruben807 You are a very brave Man, My Friend.
From what I understand, John had written on the original cassette ( that his singing/piano was recoded), " To Paul "
Lovely!
George almost murdered too New Year's Eve 1999.
@@gettinhungrig8806He was?
@@traydaniel0403 Yep, in his Castle!
@@traydaniel0403 A schizophrenic madman broke into George's home and stabbed him several times. Olivia saved his life. He thought the Beatles were witches and George was the head witch. George might have seen the funny side of that...well not at the time.
In an interview years ago, Paul said that John's last words to him were "Old friend, think of me now and then." John was killed a few days later. How eerie is it that, a decade later, Yoko Ono gave the recording of this song to Paul.
At nearly 70 and coming from that part of the world, I grew up with the Beatles as a major part of my life. This was emotional, no doubt about that. RIP John, RIP George.
Tears. Just tears. Our mystical magical musical geniuses - I miss John and George. Beautiful reaction, Beth. ❤
If you haven’t already- an equally moving and even more brilliant video that has visual cues to their songs and Liverpool are all in George’s gorgeous “ Free As A Bird”.
No es de George es de jhon!mira los creditos
I could never consider myself a huge Beatles fan, although I have a few vinyl albums in my collection....But the first time hearing this I just folded.....It's magnificent, moving and brilliantly crafted.....Track of the year for me....Lovely reaction too Beth...
Beatles songs were never just songs.... they were events or stories. That's why they will be listened to forever. 😮
Man that was great. Ill always treasure it. Anything "new" by the Beatles will be in my heart forever.4'.
The video does such a great job at portraying their relationship, their individual goofy personalities and the journey through life they had together. It was so emotional to me. It was fun to watch your expressions when seeing the video. I made some of the same expressions.
Nobody harmonizes like Paul and John. There's just amazing at it
A song that laid forgotten and hidden since 1977 'til 1995, and then it was the Beatles turn to demonstrate why they changed the world again with Now and Then!!
I love this Beatles track. I cry every time.
The mini-documentary on the making of the song is definitely worth checking out, and will dispel all the uninformed rumours about the song supposedly being "generated by AI".
that's the problem with people nowadays. they see "AI" in a sentence and they'll immediately think "oh, it was made by AI".
Agreed watch the documentary
Born in Liverpool 1961.Lived here most of my life..A Beatles child. Our boys. Magnificent.
The Beatles are the beginning of a Musical Revolution!!They were amazing!!They were a part of my youth!!
I love that Giles Martin was brought on to produce and do the orchestral arrangement. It was a very touching addition to the last Beatles song. If you can’t have the 5th Beatle, who better to step in than his son
I think it's that shot of Paul, sitting in the studio and staring off that makes the whole video.
All those memories...
That is the truth. It's a very powerful and sentimental scene.
Months after this song’s release I watched this video of you watching this for the first time and started to get teary again. It’s just so beautiful!
Lovely reaction, Beth. I knew you would like John's little vocal run at 4:17.
Everytime I listen to this song I get very emotional. Thank you Beth for bringing it back again and for your honest reaction, as always.
How many tears will I keep shedding? Every time I watch this I feel something. Thank you GPG&R
I loved seeing your reaction!! It was beautiful and pure and brings up the emotions I felt when I first heard and saw it!
I think when John was dancing, in the orchestral part on the conductor’s stand his dance moves were the twist.
You explain the process of this so ELOQUENTLY!! Your explanation couldn't be more perfect. Kudos!!🤘
Wow, thanks!
We in our mid-70s have a lot of memories of Beatles music... so joyful we were
when a new Beatles single or album was released. We would listen countless times ... and then over decades of our lives... great to see that some of the younger generations have
discovered the Beatles timeless music, from their early days all the way through their catalogue and until now .
Thank you for your honest emotional and non analytical reaction- listening and watching of this beautiful swan song gift the Beatles have given us
Beatles publicist Derek Taylor once called The Beatles "The twentieth century's greatest romance." So true.
It is so nostalgic... a testament of a firenship... the last scenes of the video, are a stunning work of edit...
This is a beautiful moment where John and George are back with us, even if it to say farewell.
Great, I had the same reaction. What an iconic project. Thank you Beth
You are so welcome!
😢♥️
A redhair sesible lady and the Beatles, two of my favorite things in the world. Thank you for the good time. ¡Bendiciones!
The old and young Ringo drumming side by side killed me for some reason. There will NEVER be another Beatles! Never!
So nicely spoken. Thank you, my dear! ❤
I love your genuine heartfelt reaction Beth.
Anytime i see a Beth Roars video its an automatic "like button"
So kind Jason!
The double fade out at the end is such a perfect farewell to The Boys.
It couldn't have been more perfect.
The beatles have just had their 18th uk number 1 in the uk ❤❤❤❤
It's so well done. So very emotional. Makes me tear up everytime.
So so true! Perfect summation!
To me this is The Beatles' final, goodbye song.
Every now and then I still miss them...
I love watching your face. The pure reverence you have for and of The Beatles as artist shines in your reactions. They did great and you nailed your review.
Thanks so much for watching it with me :)
I learned more from watching your information on this song and video than all the others I’ve watched. Loved your reaction to it too, I felt the same way. Thank you ❤️
Thanks for the video. It's so heartwarming to see someone show emotions so similar to mine. You're so much younger than I am, it just proves that the Beatles are timeless!
Them fading out at the end always gets me. They won't be with us forever.
"I don't even want to analyze this."
If I've learned one thing this past couple of years is that music has this power to bring out feelings you've been surpressing. Sometimes all you can do is feel it. It will make more sense than analyzing the lyrics or whatever.
It's hard not to cry with emotion while watching this video... Greetings from Madrid.
Beautiful final track! ♥ They dropped this on my birthday! Best gift ever!
Happy belated birthday!
Thank you for the honour of your pleasure and pain. Beautiful song, very nostalgic, poignant, timely. Cheers from Sydney AU.
The greatest influence in my life with regards to music.. The Beatles!!!
The thing that hits me the most about this song is when you find out that the last words John said to Paul was think of me every
" now and then " my old friend just gives me chills...
