- I wanted to get one more day of crabbing in before the season closes so I headed out to the South Jetty in Half Moon Bay to go crab snaring for Dungeness Crab. The North Jetty is known for Rock Crab and no Dungies.

Great humor on your videos Matt! what sucks is the season ended. I headed out to crab and I caught 7 keepers and I have went before so many times and never caught anything until now. Awesome video the drone makes it easy to view areas that can't be discovered.

Really do you know If there's a pier up there to crab? or is a beach also I really want to head out for some crab again.
No idea...all I know is that's the rules...if you can find some kind of Bay up there you'll have a good chance. Maybe ask some locals if you make it up there

Thanks!! Dungeness Crab season closed south of medocino on june 30, but it's open north of that until July 31st. otoh, rock crab are open all year with a limit of 35 crabs per person

It's at Pillar Point in half moon bay. I tried once at Baker beach, no luck. Couldn't find any good sand crabs!
Hopefully in 2021 you'll do a catch n cook video on the Jetty with a modern version of "Be Like Water"
Quick question. I usually go to Pacifica Pier but I now it's going to be crazy there tomorrow. They are even opening the pier at 12:01 Saturday. I wanted to know where else can I go besides the Jetty and Pacifica Pier. Really want to eat some Dungeoness

I was at the middle of north jetty this past Saturday, and didn't catch anything but seaweed. Do I have to move further out past the bend? Awesome catches though!
I like to get far out past the bend, near where the north and south jetty meet. Depending on the direction of the current, it's usually more calm there and more fishy. If you get all the way out on the North jetty though, you'll have to deal with the fog horn right above you all day, so lately I've been preferring the South jetty. Seems like a shorter walk too and you can park right next to it on Highway 1
