Any plans on making that Seasickness prevention video? u mentioned on another vid that the watch was uselsss and you've tried "them all". I know nothing beats time on the water but with a fam of 5 thats damn near impossible for me.
There really are a surprisingly large number of dead seals. One alpha male elephant seal can charge once and run over and kill like 10 babies and a couple of their moms. Definitely stay a decent distance away from a harem if you ever go check out seals. Lots of young males get injured fighting each other. They are also such a protected animal, we never help or interfere with them and let nature do it’s thing with seals. There’s even a beach where all the involuntary celibate males go (like, 99% of male seals).
Thanks for the sand crab lesson. I've been trying to develop my shore fishing. We have sand crabs by the ton all year around here but I didn't know which were best. Just got a 11 ft pole, so it's back to Morro Strand for another attempt at shore fishing.
I know right, I was confused at first watching this, thought there was some new bait I haven't heard of. I usually cut a 1/4 off the flea and throw it on pomp rig, flea on bottom and fish gum on top.
Bro I've become a fishing addict over the last 2 months and your videos are my favorite. Among them, the striper videos are #1. I'm hours away from the ocean but I really look forward to taking a vacation and snagging me some of these monsters. Follow the birds!

Nice Sunday here in the South Monterey County area. as I enjoy my bulletproof coffee , w/ Avocado and Nutbutter Sandwich..... And even better , getting an alert from Fisherman's Life....🤝 Thanks bro....
Another great video! Though never could get myself to use those nasty sand crabs heh, then again we mainly fish The Delta, Rivers & Lakes. Also, WICKED Striper there! Bet that was an enjoyable battle! Right on for the added info as well.... tight lines!
Matts one of your most informative explanative videos on How To and Why's. Most important how to catch sand crabs. Why use soft shell's, how to hook them and the importance of soft shells, eggs, egg attractant color. Your explanations of why you prefer the Carolina rig vs. Hi Lo rig... No one could ever argue your reasoning. Smelts?? There must be stripers there too as there's bait but the problem may be smelt schools are larger and more aggressive than stripers. Maybe one needs to move to another location or deal with the smelts, as stripers may be there too???
What size of weight do you use when you're fishing for striper? And also what kind of hook and what size hook are you using. Witch is best for those stripers?
I had great luck using these a few years back camping by Ventura beach! I dug up a few soft and hardshell crabs and used them as bait. I fished right off the shore and I caught 11 perch(I think) within about 15 minutes! It was crazy! I had a bite almost every time I cast!
Reminds me of the time I was about 6 visiting family in Halfmoon Bay. Went to pee under a bridge and thought I was peeing on a rock. I figured out what it was after an entire swarm of flies flew off of the seal.
@@jocelynnguyen2812 that's because stripers aren't native on the west coast, and the ones over here have been piss pounded commercially for so long stocks have taken a hit.
Yeah the commercial fishers here would like to be able to catch stripers (at least my friends and I would) but it’s still not legal to catch them commercially and the theory is that they’re so valuable to the charter boats as a sport fish that they’ve been lobbying to keep them recreational.
It is hella annoying to be out commercial halibut fishing and just hook endless stripers. But then when I occasionally go sport fishing for them I skunk. Ha. Go figure.
Very interesting. We don't have these little crabbies here in Cornwall, UK as far as I know. We have: black lugworm, ragworm, shrimp, mussels, limpets and razor clams.👍☘
My 14 yr old watches you and wants me to take him surf fishing like you do any spots that are good for a kid to fish (safer and a good spot to catch)thanks
My grandpa loved smelt. I'd never heard of it until he ordered it Red Lobster. It wasn't even on the menu, but they had it. And it was good. Fried, of course.
I caught smelt when freshwater ice fishing fishing and they were fantastic eating. Large smelt like you were catching were called ciscos. Different kind of smelt when saltwater is involved?
Hey man today is my 21 birthday, you inspire me so much that your videos make me so happy i never miss one video I never miss a word that you said keep up the good good work ❤️❤️🙏
We call them sand fleas in Florida and we actually have an rake to catch them. It is very well made it takes a little work to use it. They are very productive compared to your method, but you catch them in the same type of surf that you do In Cali.
man i really wish i still had a boat rn, cuz the salmon and halibut fishin here in ak is kickin off hard! i prefer fishing alone but tbh id send an invite to ya. seems your luck is damned good! keep up the good work man.
They do make 10 crab rake that have two handles on them and you hold them with both hands and just put it in the water and regular water with it and you'll pick up a hundred of them in one shot

The seal really caught me off guard
Right is it dead like?????

Seeing the first fish swim off and being able to see him in the water was really cool.
great video man, love how you take the time to elaborate and explain the process. Recently stumbled upon your stuff and love it so far.
I have been watching you since 2017.. I am from a very poor country and there is no see where I live. But your videos make me happy and relax
Greetings from Manhattan Beach .
I love how chill your videos are, when I'm sick I watch your videos a lot they are super relaxed and easy to watch when you don't feel well.

That striper would be a nice catch and cook video. Thanks for the tip on the rig. Sand fleas is an underrated live bait in my opinion.
I thought that seal was just lying in the sand there at first
It is
@@christophercervantes4679 uhh.. I kinda see some blood and wounds there
@@whateverdude1821 Technically it is lying there, just not alive 😬
That bait button a game changer. Do you think bait tread will work?

Hey man you probably won’t see this but what beach is that been trying for striper but no luck I don’t know any good spots

Tough regs compared to here in CA. (18” and 2 per day)
