- Lindsey Buckingham is on his own again after being fired from his longtime band Fleetwood Mac earlier this year. Buckingham, who was a key member of what many consider the band's classic lineup, sued. In his first television interview since being ousted, Buckingham tells "CBS This Morning: Saturday" co-host Anthony Mason he and the band have settled the lawsuit.

It's just not Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey Buckingham. Mick, Christine, John, Lindsey and Stevie = Fleetwood Mac. I am so saddened that they are no longer together.

I think that there was a bit of a power struggle between the two,....(her and him) I think that deep down, he's always been kind of jealous of her, because of her BIG spotlight fame before him. (that was something that he had always hoped and dreamed for, long before she even wanted to be famous)

I'm a huge Stevie nicks fan... that being said, Lindsey has kids and a family.... Steve is married to her career.... nothing wrong with that , but still, kudos to him for having his priorites in order....
Sadly,although fans have an emotional attachment to the music,this is a cold corporate sacking of one of their best assets.

It has to feel a little good to Lindsey that he had to be replaced by two different musicians.
I thought these guys were above this, so sad to see what I thought was pure magic and something meant to be, come to this end. Just like so many other bands and fragile egos, I really thought these guys were immune or just unwilling to let affect them, now they too end up fractured, man...

They’re like all in their 70s now. It’s a shame that this is still an ongoing tension that’s going on. It’s heartbreaking, because I admire them so much as artists, and as a band as a whole. It just hurts me so much to see them in this state still after 43 years. I hope they can all make amends.
It is hard to work with your abuser when he cannot say he was sorry and to compliment you on your career. Just old fashioned jealousy.

"You've really done it this time!" ... That part made me laugh. I love Lindsey but it sounds like this wasn't his first faux pas. Lol.
He quit the band in 1989, he broke "The Chain". Then when his solo career stalled and he needed a boost for his career he agreed to "The Dance " in 1997 .Jealousy is what broke "The Chain".
Is ironic that Lindsey Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac due Stevie Nicks, because if Stevie Nicks was in Fleetwood Mac, was due Lindsey.

A Break Up forty four years in the making
It’s not Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey Buckingham, like Scooby-Doo without Scooby-Doo.
The fact about Lindsey, he is the most talented member of the band, at this point they are in their 70s, it really does not matter, but check our Lindsey on you tube, his solo forum sets on TV channels or at USC campus, etc. He is the only one in the band that has the ability to pull this off. Stevie knows this, that is why she has been jealous of him for over 40 years, this is really what this stems from, when Lindsey is on stage, she is always going to be upstaged, Stevie's greatest moments of her career is when Lindsey is giving her song's life with his guitar playing skills. Lindsey can always "Go his own way" and does not rely on others to entertain people. He can do it all by himself with just his guitar and his voice. He is the only one in the band who can do this for an entire set.
It really is a shame about what NIcks did, to get Buckingham fired like that.. I mean if it wasn't for HIM, she wouldn't have even GOTTEN as BIG as she Did! I mean the band fleetwood contacted HIM FIRST and asked him to join, FIRSt.. and he said, "I'm not joining unless she comes with me, if not the deal's off" WOW.. like WOW... I think that NIcks should just apologize to him for getting so overly emotional and getting offended too easily like that and just let BY gones be bYeGONES, kiss and make UP, and welcome him back into the BAND again! like WtF!!! UGGHH!
No, she does owe him nothing. She supported them doing housework and waitress before Fleetwood Mac, while he got high, writing music and practicing his guitar skills. She also, cleaned up after him and his buddies after her shifts. Read "Gold Dust Woman ", opened my eyes.

Meh. He’s left the band before. Other members have left the band for periods of time. They all eventually return. Unless one of them finally dies (the fact they’re all still alive with the amount of drugs they’ve ingested over the years is amazing in and of itself), the classic lineup will eventually be reassembled.
Buckingham > Nicks. Just saying.
If reality tv would've existed in the 70s and 80s, this band would've made for quite the story.

I don't believe we will ever have the real story, I have seen before Music Cares and Stevie was trying to engage with Lindsey and he looked miserable.His beautiful family was there so I have no idea what the issue was .
Lindsey was being very cagey in this interview. I think he does know what's different, and didn't want to say. I also don't believe he's as blameless as he makes himself out to be. He's a talented guy, but he's always been a difficult one, according to what's been said over the years, and as is quite apparent from the "Destiny Rules" documentary.

Yep - a coup: Act 1: Stevie refuses to participate in last studio album, Act: 2: She tours with Pretenders instead, Act 3: watch their Classic West Concert in 2017 - Lindsey's amp is messed up; & he's furious, but Stevie's grinning like a Cheshire Cat & the whole band ignores his frustration! I feel this was pre-planned for a few years (maybe not Christine tho)!!

Yes, they broke up during the recording of their second album because Lindsey wasn't on board with Stevie giving her everything to FM, and Stevie wasn't okay with Lindsey's obsessive studio behavior. The longest breakup in history, apparently they kept getting back together until 1999, when Lindsey's girlfriend got unexpectedly pregnant. Lindsey wanted fatherhood more than anything else, so that was that.
Im in the restaurant business and when you have a small crew it works well if they are all guys or all guys and one woman . But two women usually never ever work out there can only be one queen

They were one of the few bands With all of its “classic era” members, and they couldn’t even be happy with that.

Christine to me was the better one, in fact she did quit long time ago. Even she is back on the scene now she is acting more professional to me. Money seems to be never enough for them with concert tickets up to the roof and Stevie complaining about the changes in the business...

I believe the situation between Lindsay and Stevie is contrived to look worse than it is, to guarantee ticket sales and record sales as a musical soap opera.
To say their relationship is not gotten over is ridiculous, after all they split in 1977, and it speaks volumes about their partners and families, that they take second place to a situation which is ancient history.
Even John McVie was doing it over Don't Stop. He'd known for decades that Christine wrote it about him and pretended to be surprised at being told about it recently.

Lindsey will do fine on his own. He doesn't need Fleetwood Mac as much as they need him. As for Fleetwood Mac, Mike Campbell is a great guitarist, but I have no interest in hearing Neal Finn sing Lindsey's songs.

Unless you know her personally, you really can’t say she’s a narcissist and to put her down for the men she has been with is especially petty. Stevie and Lindsey are both human beings with flaws, yet they brought us beautiful music for decades. Nothing lasts forever. Be grateful and have some empathy for both of them.

He's been married to his wife Kristen for about 20 years (she's more than 20 years his junior). They have kids. He's happily married. He been creating music independently and with McVee for years. Stevie Nicks is single. Her life is her career, but her career is stuck in the past via reunion tours. And she had Lindsay kicked out of the band; this is not in dispute (this is coming from Fleetwood Mac's manager). You're not reasoning this out completely.
Did Lindsay love Stevie? Does he still love her? Probably yes to both to some degree. And you can't be soulmates with someone who rejects you. That's not how it works. She's just someone he use to know. But nothing in his actions or words sound bitter or resentful. More like hurt over being rejected by the entire band.

Stevie has more to her life than just her career (just because you don't have a spouse & kids doesn't mean you don't have a life or the life you do have is your career only). Steve wasn't solely responsible for kicking Lindsay out of the band. The situation is far more complex, but it is easier to blame someone. The are both very talented artists and I like them equally.

Irv orchestrated this to drive ticket sales for the tour. Lindsey was kicked out because he didn't agree to touring dates (he left a meeting because there was nothing left to say - his words). He never agreed to the original date schedule so rving added the smirk story to raise hype for the tour. Lindsey only has himself to blame but his huge ego doesn't allow for self reflection. Who hasn't been fired from a job? Life isn't fair. You had a good run. So tired of him and his whiny wife. Grow up and move on.

After reading "Gold Dust Woman", I believe Fleetwood Mac should have gotten rid of him. He always uses such big words when he knows he is in the wrong. Since his career is small beside Stevie's, she should be able to call some of the shots. He is/was an abuser of Stevie and other woman, probably blaming them because his career did not take off. Say what you will, Mike Campbell is the better rock "n" roll guitarist, he does not use a kleenex box hitting a tile floor for the sound on a song. I believe Lindsey's problem with Stevie is just old fashioned jealousy.
